So if a country decides to require a vaccine certificate before allowing you in, does that mean that a family wont be able to take their children on holiday?

I thought I'd misread ...vax proof for the continent and wax proof for the UK. wink

I haven't even  bothered to update my passport at the moment so that's a job that I need to do but I won't be rushing.

Cold sun here this morning, no plans till we get Covid jab tomorrow.

Just a few more million jabs to go!

    Enjoy your day everyone. 🌞⛄

With the ‘expertise’ the criminal fraternity have at raising funds by nefarious means a paper ticket won’t cut it if it means the potential of introducing Covid pt2 into a Country free from Covid. I’m thinking it’ll need a database of up to date vax’d travellers that can be accessed by many Countries. The way our relationship is going with our neighbours I’m thinking we could be Europe’s pariah state for a while🤷🏻‍♂️. This is not a Political statement it’s reported fact.

Guessed from bed it was hard frost, listening to neighbour scrapping his ca, it sounded hard going😱 and looking at the rooftops opposite. So delayed rising for a bit.

We actually have lying snow here, it settled on the plants and grass yesterday but overnight it's on the hard surfaces about 0.5cm. Still snowing and a good dusting on the bit I swept to get to the shed!

Put fresh water out for the birds and their food on the patio, lots of prints and all gone so at least I know they've had something I'll keep putting out on the top layer throughout the day.

Brue my brother hasn't bothered to renew passports yet, wasted months as he puts it. However he needed to renew his driving licence and no passport to link it too meant photos and trip to the Post Office. It was back inside the week. Actually I must check my driving licence! We'll keep ours current, about halfway through at the mo I think, just incase of emergency.

Wonder what the dog will make of the snow, she's not shifted yet......

Whatever you do folks stay safe and warm

How many people are happy to mill around an airport to fly in a metal tube with others also remains to be seen.

In the unlikely event that vaccine passports are introduced it could easely be added to the NHS app on your phone. Much less admin and a lot harder to fake

Woke to lots of snow this morning, biggest fall we have had so far this winter. More still to come.

ET, getting folk to fly again isn't going to be a problem. They are booking up holidays already and many of them are the over 65s.

We should have been going to Lanzarote as usual at this time of year. Had we been allowed to go, we would have gone.

The card that is given out at vaccination time wouldn't be enough, to easy to 'fake' it. They were talking about a QR code type of thing that you could have on your phone. By the way not everyone gets a card.

Back on thread, waiting for plasterer to arrive, lateyell I just love getting up early yell

Snow in Stubbington this morning, well just a little bit, lived here 11 years only 2nd time we have seen snow, first time we still had the Disco, drove round to pick up children for school guy in front in nice shiny jeep thought he was captain invinsible, ended up wrapped around a bollard, silly people with 4x4's dont realise that if you have a 4 wheels on ice it can be the best 4x4 in the world but it will be hell of a difficult to control if it goes into a slide laughing

Walk pooch then start planning trip to over there laughing

Some are booking up early and may feel free after injections are done. There are  suspect many from all age groups that won't for various reasons.

A smattering of snow here, but oh so cold. Especially in our bedroom. When the wind's in the North it's the coldest room in the house. Toasty under the covers then a very quick dash to get dressed and downstairs into the warm kitchen.

A bit of Family History updating first thing - a distant cousin has been looking at our tree online and asked me to "take out" her sister's former partner. I hope she meant just "delete". Otherwise I don't have the right contacts.

Then after dinner we are having a phone review of our farm insurance - I've questions ready about increases. Normally it's done in person with coffee and biscuits.

And, feeling a bit optimistic we've decided to book a site for our summer holiday. We can always cancel!

This is more like it-its -1c but a beautiful blue sky, booked a week in May, and two two week rallies.

But best of all our closest friends, they are MHers but as we are so close can just about forgive them, have decided to rejoin the club so they can come on the rallies with us.

I have wrapped my recently installed external Smartmeter with tinfoil innocent My parked car on the driveway a metre away from it sometimes does not recognise the Smartkey.

Did not have this before and no problem elsewhere, only when I park the car at home. Problem temporarily solved sealed but EON will soon be asking why they can't get a meter reading tongue-out

I've asked that twice over the last couple of weeks. It obviously fell on stoney ground.

Initial findings are that if you have had shots with time to develop antibodies that you are less likely to develop Covid, and less likely to spread it therefore

We had snow overnight but not nearly as much as 2 weeks ago.  Still the odd flurry but nothing much.  I think tomorrow morning could be 'interesting' if it freezes overnight though.

Did anyone else watch the Musicals on BBC last night?  I loved it, Such an uplifting show. We then watched the Alan Yentob interview with Andrew Lloyd Webber on BBC 4, another really good programme.

A late evening discussion with OH when I said that I would be happy to be wearing a mask, when shopping, into late summer if necessary - he is not so keen. This led to me dreaming last night that I was clothes shopping in M&S with no-one wearing a mask, it was so nice. Put me in quite a good mood today. Hopefully this won't be too long... and hopefully M&S at least will survive this. Very cold here in Devon but no snow as yet. Off out in the garden to feed the birds.

"Did anyone else watch the Musicals on BBC last night?"

yup brilliant should have been 2 hours or more, watched Serpent after, might have to cheat and watch final epiosode on iPlayer. Also watched a Holiday nightmare programme on Ch5, bit tongue in cheek really but if you have paid 10K for a holiday you expect 1st class service.

Just back from walking pooch, still snowing and very cold, getting a bit cheesed off now with folk asking if my legs are cold, yes i am still in shorts. yell, can remember as a boy long trousers were not allowed until you went to senior school, so dont know what all the fuss is about laughing

I understood the vax makes no difference at all to the carrier's ability to spread the disease.

I believe LLM is correct. You can still contract the virus despite having the vax but be asymptomatic, or not suffer so badly, but will still be spreading it.

Light snow here and main road all clear, and now sunshine, but OH just back from 'over the water' and heavy snow with only tyre tracks visible on the main roads. The boundary is the Tyne bridge!

Have to go in Durham this afternoon so will see what's it's like there.

Yes, its very inconvenient but I do make sure to mention, maybe several times per trip, what a pain it is!!

Having given our Thule roof box to our daughter, as tenters their need was greater, a few years ago we then decided on a family holiday in France-mmm, where is that again?-and as we were taking two of the teenage aged grandchildren the rear seat, where the awning, BBQ, clothes airer, windbreak etc etc live whilst en route would be required so we now own, at a not insignificant cost, a new roof box.

It has been argued, by someone-guess who-, that we are lucky to have Grandchildren and friends so its a small rice to pay but, even if it is, which it is, why miss the chance to have  moan about it!!

Several articles in The Lancet have reported more in line with my views based on empirical evidence to date.

Personally I am no expert but suspect that if you have the vaccines and time to develop antibodies you may well receive the virus but I suspect that having contacted the virus that you are less likely to develop full blown Covid and have a heavy viral load.
