We had a lovely few hours at Barnsdale today. The autumn colours were wonderful. I might have spent rather too much on plants 🤣🙄

The hitch worked fine, but does creak a bit, and we made it to Alnwick in good time, so no need for the b&b. wink Unfortunately we had a shower of rain just as we (I) unhitched but it passed through quickly.

If we go into another lockdown it's going to be hard for everyone so take care folks.

Looks like quite a few of our touring friends will have to think about making plans for a return to home quarters if news about a national lockdown is correct.

Filthy day outside. Just had a delivery from builders merchants. Always worry about coming into close contact with people I don't know. Fortunately there is a strong wind out there and it was only for a few minutes.

Take care today folks as it looks like quite a large portion of the UK involved in this storm.

Ordered new glasses Wednesday, just had a text to say they're ready. Phoned immediately, going in at 1615. Hopefully sorted before Boris makes his announcement. Phew.

Got the towels dried outside whilst out dog walking first thing 😀. Had just pegged out the bedding with everything crossed on our return, not even managed to make a cuppa when the heavens opened. So that had to be tumbled. Been rather wet and windy. So just chillin- really could potter, but suspect we may need those pottering jobs in the next few weeks..........

Dora has turned into a teenager, she has grown and lives coasters, TV remotes and anything else she can reach. More chewing now than whe she was teething 😱😱.

Posted parcel to daughter in NZ yesterday, photos from mums in the main, plus few bits of craft for the girl's advent calendar. Don't usually bother as they get more for the money without postage charge. Parcel just over 2kg, would I like to remove about 130? As it stood out would be £60 😱😱. Postage has really gone up in last few years! Came home and fiddled, taking the extra bits that I really wanted to go eventually with me. Managed to squeeze those in within 2kg, so halved the listed, I had expected about £30. Paid the extra £2 to have it tracked, although not necessary. That was at 1620 yesterday. It left the country at 0836 this morning!

Stay safe folks and keep your pecker up. I suspect the haircut, groomers for Dora times 2 before Christmas, reflex and OH birthday lunch next week will all be cancelled 😢. Hopefully our new gates can be fitted...... I know we wont be alone in that regard.

    Photos added after changing devices!

I can no longer fit in some places but I can reach new ones!

    Blue Moon rising on Halloween...🎃

We have a dry spell, with sight of the blue moon rising. Fireworks going off too. Some fantastically dressed up families out on the Halloween trail. The whole city was doing ine, but we have our own local one. Lots of houses decorated really well. Not something we normally participate in but we have put a garland of pumpkins up, pretty pathetic compared to our neighbours opposite 🤣.

Families providing their own treats as they go. I have put some wrapped sweets in a pumpkin bucket which are going down.

Our church organises activities for the children and managed it this morning for All Hallows so those who choose not to do the more American/pagan festival get to claim it. There was a pumpkin to download and colour in too, but my tablet won't talk to my printer and my computer that talks to the printer isn't safe to connect to the internet!

The guides have even made it a badge challenge. Much nicer atmosphere this year.

Just been catching up with a few posts, lovely pictures of Dora Bakers2 smile

Weather was very wet and windy this morning, but had a couple,e of hours of sunshine this afternoon so it was out for a walk round the park and Estate with the dog. Had a video call with youngest son, they are a bit fed up as still in isolation and not allowed out of the house.

Decided to "sorn" the Freelander, and just use my little car. Just as well as it seems like we will be back in Lockdown from next week.

Hope everyone's weekend is going well, off now to try and spot the moon through the cloud's.

I love the photos of dora Bakers2.  She is absolutely gorheous.

I haveJust spoken to son in NI..Although Hallowe'en is big over there they are not trick or tteating but they have dressed up and made some hallowe'en cakes. Local grandchildren are not trick or treating either. Daughter has just rung to say she will pop over tomorrow afternoon while she still can. Will be so lovely to see her. We did a quick Garden Centre run this afternoon to stock up on compost and bird food..we left it until just before closing so it wasnt too busy. Now keeping my eye on supermarket delivery slots.

Just thought I'd share these photos. Wish I could claim it was my house! This house always does great decorations now and at Christmas.

I think our idea of a trail has worked well, it started last night and will remain until Sunday giving plenty of opportunity to walk around safely. It was inspired following the success of the rainbow and Teddy bear trail during lockdown. Hope we won't have to do a  santa 🎅 one.

Milliehull and HelenandTrevor Dora thanks you for your compliments.

I managed to secure a delivery slot this morning, but it will be 3 weeks from last rather than 2 weeks as I took my eye off the ball 😱.  Now have a reminder on my phone to keep me on track!

Thanks for the photos B2! Something cheerful as a distraction. I had spoken to our NE grandson on whatsapp earlier and had a conducted tour of his Halloween preparations plus a set of fangs in his mouth and a tube of "blood."

Hope you and  Dora get through her teenage years unscathed. wink

Weather has been very mixed up here, Northumberland, with rain overnight then fine when we got up so a dry walk with Flyte first thing. It looked threatening by we ventured down to Alnmouth and had a pleasant but rather breeze walk on the sands. Drove into Boulmer and after lunch in the car were going for another walk when the rain started so decided to hear back to the van. En route the heavens opened and the rain was that heavy that it made driving a touch dodgy, however it has stopped by the time we got back to the site, so I was able to get out for a couple of short walks before our evening meal. We did have a lower cut for a couple of hours, breathlessly we now know that the gas heating works ok.

Following on from the PM's announcements tonight we have cancelled our next planned CL and will head home directly from here on Wednesday. Roll on the 4th December and we can then head off again!wink

We've been lucky with the weather, what should have been rain and gails was just wind after midday yesterday and today. Some local fells, this is Brant fell, and as it's from Wainwright's outlying fells book  I guess that means we're officially old.

An exciting morning? Not really, just down to Tesco to pick up a Click and Collect. Quite busy for 10.00 o'clock on a Sunday. Glad I wasn't going inside. Managed to get another for 3 weeks time. Takes care of all of the heavy and bulky items.

    Rain just started here.

Wee miserable day here today. I went this morning to the dump to empty the trailer so that’s a lot of rubbish away from the back garden. Gave the car a quick hoover out when I got back. Had a plan to head to a CL in the Lakes at some point in November won’t be doing that now.

My trip to Black Knowl scheduled for next week has gone down the tubes and has brought our 2020 season to an abrupt halt. Just the odd day out to keep the mechanicals sweet until next year when, hopefully, we emerge blinking into the sunlight of a proper season in 2021.

'Orrid, 'orrible day going worse now --  got wet fetching my Sunday Skwarker, dry during breakfast, but wet again when out filling the 'feeders.  Got wet again when reading a council notice on a lamp post but dry all the time I've been playing on here and now it is a uniform  dirty grey out there and very threatening but amazingly warm really.surprised

Hope all you out there manage to get home safely without falling foul of Lockdowns Various, Limitations, and any other holiday spoilers you can think of yell or even the wind and rain !

Travel safely, no drinking out of wet glasses  wink

We've had a mixed day, nice this morning with a bit of sun but the late afternoon it started to get windy again and rain. Yesterday just about took you off your feet if out in the open.

We've sorted the MH out and we are going away for a few days. I've checked online and we are ok to do so in Scotland as long as we don't plan to use any sites in the Central belt. That only leaves Stonehaven to the north or Melrose south of us, these are the only club run sites open now. There are some AS sites like Grantown on Spey open(I've checked) so might go there after a few days at Stonehaven. Looked at a few CL's so will give them a ring tomorrow.

Wanted to go to the C&CC site at Lochness Shores, its open all year. Gave them a call only to find out they have closed it for the year now. No word from C&CC about it closing. The female I spoke to said they have closed it as they don't have anymore money left to remain open. All 12 staff have been made redundant. Shocking situation for them but slightly confused as I thought this was owned and run by the C&CC.

Weather for next week up in Aberdeenshire and the Moray coast looks to be ok so taking the chance while we can.

Sorry to hear that those in England have had to cancel their plans for the next month (or so) its been a rotten year all round.

Francis are you thinking of going to Maybole or Moffat? we might come down that way after we've been north. Will pop home first then if all ok go south for a week or so.

We should have been flying to Lanzarote this Thursday, part of me wishes we were, oh for a bit of warm sunshine laughing as of the middle of November, the Canary Islands now require visitors to have a certificate to say you are free from the virus. Has to be done in the 72 hours prior to arrival. If you arrive without it you can't go to your hotel/apartment etc until you have had a test done on the island.

Its going to have a knock on affect to the number of folk now wishing to go. Trying to get a test done in 72 hours and get the results back in time to fly is going to put a lot of folk off. Prices for private tests are anything from £110 - £150each  that's if you can get one. Can't blame the islands for wanting to keep them safe, they have worked very hard to get their numbers down so they can open for the winter season. Will it backfire on them though undecided

Right must go and see to dinner, its in the oven (roast chicken) smells lovely. Still got to sort out food for tomorrow but will have plenty of time in the morning as its not that far to Stonehaven.
