That sounds like a nice temperature to enjoy RedKite, it's very mild here but very damp and now the wind speeds are getting up again so not much peace!

OH did some fishing with his club today, I think that's their last session under the new rules but I presume we'll get the full details tomorrow.

I'm wondering how my friend is who was determined to go to her native Malta a second time (with quarantine) and what will happen to the flights to get back. It all seems too complicated to me to make it much of a holiday...

Meanwhile just hoping nothing conks out at home during lockdown. Our neighbours had a supermarket delivery late this afternoon and found their freezer had stopped working. Our freezers don't have any room left after a delivery here yesterday but we lent them a little freezer OH uses for fishing bait...all cleaned out at the moment! 🐬🐳🐟

TG- we are hoping to get back down to the Ranch at Maybole another couple of times before the end of the year. It’s one of our local sites being only 45 mins from home so we go there quite regularly. It’s a nice site with good owners too always helpful and friendly.

Another very windy night and through the day today, but not much rain. Drove down to Warkworth Castle, walked round the village and then though the castle. Booked our entrance time on line and there was no problem getting in, and only a few people wandering round in the castle. Parked down by the Croquet for lunch before onto Amble Links for a walk on the shore, and a dip in the tide for Flyte. The wind seems to have dropped a bit so hopefully we'll get a peaceful night's sleep tonight.

TG, jealous of you being able to still get out in the van. Have a good trip, and there must still be a few CLs still open for you to try.

We intend heading home on Wednesday, all in the one tow, provided the forecast of light winds then holds up. If high winds are expected then we'll go on Tuesday instead. This sort of distance of two is unusual for us as we try not to spend more than a coup!e of hours between sites, and this will take us at least double that.

One of our favourite castles Nellie. Chock full of history. It’s a very nice place is Warkworth, we know it very well. Sorry your latest tour is ending as it is, must catch up with you😉

Boiler saga #2 commences tomorrow. Fingers crossed. A new survey, hope things go well.

Grand spot to just wander around, especially when there are not many others there. Love the views of it as one approaches from Amble, definitely what a castle should look like in a child's mind.

Hope all works out well with the boiler survey.

We have been of a mind that there would be some sort of lockdown, so it's not come as any surprise. There's always another time to get away....well hopefully there is. Be good to catch up again.

Well back home after what must be the wettest half term I can ever remember but it didn't stop us getting out and about everyday, We were in a lovely cottage just off the main road in a hollow so that it was a tranquil world apart at Troutbeck Bridge.

It was built in 1740! I just spend quite a time just siting, with I admit a glass in hand, and thinking about all the families that have lived there during that time, what were they like, how did they live their lives? I hope they were as happy as we were.

Thanks for all the replies and likes, I've just been through them all and they are much appreciated.

Have a safe drive whichever day you go. Shame you have to go home, if you had only lingered in Scotland a bit longerlaughing

Don't know for how long we will still be able to go away in the van so making the most of it. There are as you know quite a few CL's along the Aberdeen and Moray coast, have picked a few so will give them a ring tomorrow or Tuesday once we decide where.

First stop though Stonehaven, must have some of those lovely fish and chips while we are there laughing

Phew its 18c here at the mo surprised. Breeze has dropped for the moment but someone has lost felt off their shed. Luckily not us nor has it landed in our garden. Pot plant on the patio table has been on a jaunt. Set to get cooler during the day and talk of freezing fog for Thursday. It's all a bit unusual. Stay safe folks

Terrible weather the last few days, but at least the wind has now dropped.  We had to venture to Ikea yesterday for a few items and the rain was not nice.

Renovations at DD's house are progressing, but she is finding it difficult to source some bathroom fittings, some delivery dates are 24th December!
As a result, I have to make a unit for a "back to wall" toilet this week.  Luckily  she has already got one so I can just copy that for the other one, using the doors and drawer fronts obtained at Ikea yesterday.  Should be interesting!!

We have been called on to take over looking after Callum every day for the next week or two as his other Gran's brother has tested positive, and had apparently been at her house last Thursday, so she is banned. Rather worrying as SIL often goes round there to discuss things with his dad, though always at a distance, but not always outside as the rules here say he should.

Rather unrealistic given the bad weather, so not surprising that that is not being observed by many people, but I would have thought they could discuss things over facetime or zoom, rather than taking unnecessary risks.

We had DS on facetime yesterday, checking up on us, making sure we were observing the rules.  Fortunately that was before DD rang with the above news, otherwise he would have been telling us to stay home!

Gorgeous sunny morning 'ere in South Cheshire,  and quite warm too ~~  shirt sleeves for a stroll to corner shop for newspaper -- now halfway thro' 3rd load of washing while I wait for two deliveries from Royal Male ( Duke of Cambridge ?? ) and Herpes  no  no  one P too many embarassed should have been Hermes wink.  Then it will be a swift ironing session so I look clean & tidy for my visit to Aged Sisters tomorrow.  The Aged one is doing quite nicely after her discovery that she does have a heart after all  surprised, her Daughter has been visiting, checking on her diet both for Quality & Quantity amongst other things, so I'm just there for laughs it seems. If all is well later today I will take the Ducky for a decent run and then shop in preparation for Hibernation later this week.

Hope things work out well for the supply of fittings, KjellNN, and that it's not a ' Santa Delivery ' on the 24th or it could cost lots of carrots for that  smilelaughing

Take care, please, and stay safe everybody  innocent

embarassedembarassedembarassed turns out was our shed felt, but shed roof not bare as we have another layer under it. Apparently we have some more on a roll in the little shed. Not looked for yet. Son coming down tomorrow, was planned last Saturday before the announcement in case we couldnt do next weekend, so as well as a catch up he will do the necessary. OH not up to it and I don't do heights 😱. Hopefully son will do the fence mend too. Son trying to use up holiday before December which continued to accrue despite lockdown. Think DIL and I will ensure it's not idled away 🤣

Blowing well here, but sun out, now only 14c, a couple of hefty showers have been through.

Managed yesterday to get appointment at, new to me, hairdresser for 1545 today. My hairdresser hasn't got to grips with mine since lockdown! So been toying with the idea and enquired on prices more than a week ago 😱😱. Bit the bullet as due to be cut next week and the top is very heavy. Very fine hair but lots of it! Could only get principle stylist at short notice 😱😱😱 so better be good. Shocked at additional £3 PPE charge but needs must. Really wish I was brave enough for a close cut!

Picked up lovely masks made by local childminder and her helpers, she's a marvel with the children 😀. Poppies one side, Christmas the other, all proceeds to Royal British Legion. I haven't seen a poppy seller anywhere so far this year. Hate to be without! Hard to find one when you only venture to the park....... Note to self must try harder!

Right must finish household tasks - how boring. Still trying to sort smell from vacuum, have found the carbon filter thanks brue. Can't get replacement yet, as only just discovered it, so washed it and hopefully itl'l be sweeter whilst I source one.

Yep, that’s borderline panic AD😉 Anything that remotely involves yeast, bread flour, Primark knickers or toilet rolls.

Only difference in America is they have guns and ammo top of the list.

My OH is majoring on plaster board at the moment. He came back cursing an hour ago as it’s all gone.....again😱

Quite expected stuff like that to happen, TtDA, No1 mate texted yesterday about bleep bleep huge queues at B & Q Crewe yesterday afternoon.  He wanted more drawers for his newly obtained sideboard. Did not find it at all comical when I suggested he does as I do ~~  Get new drawers from M & S or Cotton something or other. Well he ain't very tall so his long johns don't hold a lot.  Good job I could hear the incoming !!

The "guns and ammo" at the top of the panic buying list seems to prompted a spike in the sale of shuttering ply if the tv news pics are anything to go by. Not sure how effective that will be against the ordnance that some US citizens feel is essential to their wellbeing.

I have watched some interesting documentaries about the US during the last lockdown. It’s a lot stranger than you would credit in some places.
