Because None essential items are not to be sold in shops that have had to close in Wales .so lets have a near level playing field as on line stores will even more knock  local high streets

    THATs WHY!!!!yell

We only bought From PAH on line because when voucher arrived we had already done our shop locally  otherwise we would have visited the local store when shoppingcool

    Many congrats H&T, enjoy yourselves.

Sad news about your friend WN. Fingers crossed for a good result, but dreadful for those with anyone so poorly. ☹️

Thanks Ttda. The really sad part is that she has managed to organise the care home during the virus to ward off all comers and run a very tight ship. All residents have been protected from the virus and in her down time has caught it from goodness knows where. Wanted to give our friend a hug but even that is denied.

It’s randomly cruel this blasted virus. Poor lady probably stressed to bits which will no doubt have contributed. Very sad, I hope things go well. Sounds like your bubble of three is happening, our bubble of four is on a get together for dinner tomorrow.

Spoke to SIL last night, she is worried about daughter who is Dep Head at a deprived school, she is worried about some of children (infants) getting enough to eat. The teachers quite often take food in for some pupils, along with clothes they buy from charity shops, but of course they can’t do that this year, too risky. It’s another world being in a school like this.

Congratulation H&T have a nice evening and enjoy your extra hour in bed.

Got up to very heavy rain, really dark and horrible. Sun now out and skies clearing.

Went into town to get tops for trellises but none to be found anywhere, OH will now have to try and make some.

Can't get motivated to do anything else today so going for a walk before it gets to cold.

Sorry to hear about your friend WN, hope its short lived and a good recovery.

Thank you  Ttda, & Tammygirl. smile

Very sad news about your friend Wherenext, I know what you mean about wanting to give your friend a hug, a "zoom  or air hug" just isn't the same.

    That's just plain silly.

We have 90 year old neighbours who order their fruit and veg and wholesale meat online and have it delivered. Are they supposed to starve in the meantime?

In this household, with 2 vulnerable people in it, we have tried ,as much as we possibly can, to avoid going into non essential shops and order a lot of stuff online. MiL is 87 and only the other day ordered a book rest kneel pad from an online shopping channel that she uses a lot. This is to help her with her arthritic hands when reading her kindle in bed, on which she order books.

It's very easy coming up with statements like ban all this or that but there could be severe consequences for people whose habits already include a lot of internet shopping from sites that specialise in items not found on the high street. I'm not sure when Black Friday falls this year but banning people from Wales from participating isn't going to help matters. Ditto for those who are trying to spread the cost of Christmas and buying in presents now.

There would a severe backlash if this was introduced.

Will he have to Shield though?undecided And if not, will he actually be allowed down the chimney in Tier 3 areas as he's not part of the bubble. If our lockdown is in force the police will turn him back at the border. See what you've done, more stress.

Sorry to hear about your fiend, WN, hope that all comes right quickly.

H&T, congratulations and have an enjoyable meal this evening.

Hope that your SIL can sort something out for those children, tda, this virus is affecting so many in different ways. Our son teaches a class of extremely disabled children, and at present only 5 out of a class of 10 are able to attend school, with 3 who require suction not allowed back yet and 2 others are in isolation because of their parents jobs.

As WN said, that is just plain silly, though I may well have put it a bit more strongly!

At present, DD is having some bathroom renovations done, and a bedroom revamped, the builders started on Tuesday.  They are providing building materials in the price, but she is responsible for choosing and ordering all the rest that is required.

So far she has ordered on line, and had delivered, a bath, with panel and shower screen,  a toilet and seat, a toilet unit with cistern, a towel radiator, valves and a control unit, an electric shower, a shaver socket, multiple electric outlets, an extractor fan, 19 boxes of tiles, 8 sheets of mosaic tiles, and mosaic backer sheets.

Without having all this ready, she would have to send the builders home, and they would not be pleased as they have hired a skip and set aside 3 weeks for her project.

So if someone living in Wales was prevented from doing similar, you would think it OK to ruin their plans?

She would have ordered all this on line anyway, so local suppliers are not missing out on anything.

Ordering on line gets her the best price, and means she, who is 6 months pregnant and has been working from home since early March, can stay safe and not mix with others unnecessarily.

Yet more rain in the night and when each of up, so it was full wet weather gear for our pre-breakfast walk. The rain eventually eased off so we drove over to Dollar and walked up Dollar Glen to Castle Campbell. Don't remember the walk as it was 17 yrs since we last visited the castle. After lunch we had a short walk along the old Clackmannanshire line before going to Alloa Tower, a 14th C tower house and now a NTS property, which we had virtually to ourselves. Definitely worth a visit, especially for those interested Scottish history, being the former home of the 1st Earl of Mar, Regent for Mary Queen of Scots' son, James VI. Back at the site Flyte and I wandered up the road to view the gorge, and a potential walk, at Rumbling Bridge.

We did all go to one big showroom many weeks back and try out various things, including checking the sitting height and seat comfort of the toilets, so we are confident that the choice is good.    😀

She will be ordering another the same for her en suite soon, and we will be  having the same one when we revamp our en suite.

OH has just watched the film tonight and she thought it was good. Some great garden shots, especially of the children running down the Laburnum Arch, which was filmed at Bodnant Gardens. Trebah Gardens were used for the Elephant's Rhubarb and Gunnera Alley, whereas Duncombe Park was used as the Manor and the Walled Garden.

😱 Dollar Glen, I still have nightmares about that walk. Is some of it still on those walkways Nellie? I just couldn’t walk it, my knees were shaking, I don’t do heights at all. Love Castle Campbell though, it’s an “Outlander” filming site I think?

Hope you have a lovely time at Yellowcraig. If you get into NB, there’s a rather nice Craft Emporium on the Main Street, with a fish smokery, lots of quality crafted items for sale. We got lots of Christmas presents for each other last year. Some great shops in NB, but it gets very very busy nowadays. Not good at the moment☹️

Dang it, Easy T  The second one** is the one I was going to quote

so having woken up on 25 TH with just two months to Christmas, the sun pouring in thro the angled blinds so no extra hour kipping, and no chance now to give a smart Sunday reply instead I'll go and top up the bird feeders then top up ME  !!  Hope it is as dry and sunny where ever you all are -- so get out & enjoy various degrees of C19 Restraint wink

Fear not, all those with youngsters.

Father Christmas is magic, he can’t catch or give anyone the virus. He lives in a magic bubble, at the North Pole, with his elves and reindeer, and they all help each other stay young, (so no one really knows how old they are), so that they can travel the World making sure that love and kindness is dispensed wherever it’s needed along with the odd present. What many don’t know is that he has a dog called Bauble. (He’s a touch on the round side because the Elves spoil him so much) Bauble is very clever, like many dogs he has special powers and can tell who has been really good, and he knows those who need to try and be a bit kinder sometimes. Bauble runs a worldwide communications network, and is in touch with dogs, cats, budgies, fish, hedgehogs, horses, etc and he knows what is happening where in two shakes of a puppy dogs tail. He’s working extra hard with a dog called Dilyn at the moment, to try and help boys and girls in the UK have some nice food at Christmas.😉

Sell, if you want to do something different for your Grandson, try and get hold of some horse poo, on Xmas Night, put it in his garden and tell him it’s reindeer poo next morning. You could put some hay out for them on Xmas Eve and take it away but leave the 💩 Our little nieces have never forgotten this trick.....😂

Yes, we said last week that the colours were outstanding this year. Around Tarn Hows and near Skelwith Force were particularly beautiful.

We saw notices up advertising the Langdale half and full marathons on Saturday. We were surprised they were going ahead - many years ago I ran the half marathon, used to be advertised as the toughest in the country, couldn't begin to imagine having to do 2 laps! surprised
