Job done! Will have to repeat the process later, normally OH would get a lift from someone or a loan car, Covid strikes again. They were very busy "sanitizing" all the vehicles at BMW, can't say it's an enjoyable process just now. undecided

Our car went in for service and MOT a couple of weeks ago and we discovered that our Kia Garage did a collect and deliver service which we took advantage of for the first time. Very convenient. Pity the Motorhome dealer doesn't do the same!!!

Oh joy, Oh bliss  laughing  -- >  smile  -- >  innocent.

Brian's right chuffed today 'cos a load of mail turned up and in the middle of it came two (2) packets of delight -->

    1 ) this Quarters R S P B Mag  and

2 ) a letter from SWANSEA --  containing my nice new 3 year driving licence, only spoiled by having an awful mug shot on it !!

Think that means I can justify a second sweetener tablet in my lunch-time coffee then even a gentle snooze surrounded by empty envelopes and piles of loose leaf adverts -- still can't complain, it's a Happy Day for me and I hope very much so for all you lot  wink

Oh and thanks BMW, yes it was me who bumped the wheels trying to get an elderly neighbour off the kerb and into the car...guilty as videoed. wink

    Don't mention the cost either....yell

We are away in the van at the moment just for a couple of nights. Was raining when we left home but by the time we got to site it had stopped so we were fine setting up. We are on one of our local sites so plan is just to relax.

Hope everyone else has a nice weekend

A day of doing a lot but not getting a lot done, if you can understand that. Anyway, it stayed dry until late afternoon.

Cold enough for an Italian Sausage stew for dinner. Proper stew with "peasant"  food such as potato, carrot and cabbage but with some red wine mixed in with the stock and, essentially, a tin of butter beans plus crusty bread. Yum. Embracing autumn.smile

    Enjoy the weekend Francis.

Lovely day here  sunny but  bit cold ,cut the lawns as they had dried enough and then did the grass outside the house that as usual had been left in a mess by the council contractors , new firm this year even worse than who they replaced,

Chilly but fine for most of the day, starting at 6 C when we set off and rising as high as 10 C when we got to our next site. Very pleasant drive along wide roads, most of which we've never used before, and now on another new site for us.

It most certainly is, CY, that's why I was such a happy ABM this lunchtime wink the pressure had come off when I felt the plastic through the coarse brown envelope.  Since then I've been keeping a close eye on it as it sits on top of the clock on the mantle shelf smile.

At least they have not worried about my claim to be able to read car number plates without my spectacles ,  that is some bonus, although I always wear them --  70+ years tend to make it a bit of a habit  cool.

We always had a pick up and return service from  Volvo, and now VW and Smart.  The independent Volvo specialist our daughter uses is still offering it, but both VW and Mercedes (Smart dealership) now require you to bring the car in yourself, and either wait or return later.  How people who work can fit that in is a mystery.

OH is not happy with the attitude at Mercedes.  She rang them to book the service and MOT,  but was told there was nobody available to take bookings, she had to use the online booking, which was rather clunky, but she eventually, 2 weeks back, got booked for Monday afternoon.  Confirmation e mail said come at 12.30.

Yesterday, another e mail confirming the booking, but now for 9.40am.  She e mailed them for clarification but got no response.  So this morning she rang them and got grilled by the woman on the other end as to what the problem was, and felt that there was little understanding of  the problem someone had caused.........

I am taking the car in, do I go for 09.40 and get told I am too early and will have to sit and wait all day?      Or do I go at the original booked time, 12.30, and risk being told I have missed my slot?

She was promised a call back, requested it be soon as they would ring on that number and it was DD's phone, and she was going out in 45 minutes.    No call back happened.

So now we will have to try tomorrow to see if anyone can help, or wait till early on Monday.  You would think a big business like that  could manage a simple thing like getting a service booking correct!

I often wonder about the requirement of reading a numberplate at 20 metres when ISTM that the majority of drivers focus of attention is about half that. frown

Nice morning here on site at The Ranch. Sunny but cold also it rained most of the night we like autumn/winter Caravan got though. Yes TG we are planning on heading down to the Dales at the end of the week but will wait and see what Boris announces on Monday we don’t want to go if we can’t go to some of our favourite pubs for a neal so at the moment we are going but will wait and see what Monday brings. If we decide not to go we will postpone and go nearer the end of the year. Glad you like West Ayton it’s a nice site we have used it a few times and spent 3 weeks there in July.
