That's the way to ([we]) do it David smile

But The chat I had was defo done stood standing in the room's doorway !!

KjellNN,  So sorry to hear of your OH's eyesight problems and the too long wait for an op !

Considering the many & varied problems some folks on here have been struggling with over the years, then Brian has to say thanks for his relatively good health barring the cost of a nice new set of varifocals (yell)

Just watching the news......what is wrong with some people that they are disregarding the rules and  congregating in huge numbers?  Manchester seems particularly bad.

Glad we cancelled our trip now!

I am still waiting to hear about my cataract op. I have heard nothing since my hospital appt when I was put on the list in February. I have left messages on the phone no I was given and had no response. I think the eye clinic have locked up and gone home ☹

I sometimes wonder what's going on too Millie, I'd keep up those phone calls, can you contact the secretary at your local surgery to chase it? Sorry to hear about your OH Kj, a real disappointment for her.

TDA I can't visit the Comer area without some local crab, the shop in West Runton sells it if you want to take some home with you. I did our NT booking before the daily deadline but I've noticed they are easing off a bit and letting some extra visitors in on the day. Maybe some who  pre-booked aren't turning up?

Might give that a go brue. Website doesn’t indicate sold out, just closed for sale. EH you can book up to numbers being met, so we did some on the day visits.

Might try Muckleburgh Collection, not far away. Cromer and Sheringham out. Too many covidiots about.

Thanks JV. It’s only the formal gardens we want to look around, maybe a short stroll from MH with pooch in parkland. It’s not far from cottage. We have been before, but it’s a nice sunny day here, so taking advantage. Tomorrow’s weather looks awful.

Lovely sunny day here in Berwick, breezy but blue skies and a few clouds.

Arrived just after 1pm yesterday, good run down.

Had a spot of lunch then got the bikes out and cycled into town then along some of the old walls and out to the lighthouse. The tide was just on the turn, it comes in pretty quick and kicks up a lot of waves in the little harbour.

Just chilling this morning then going out on the bikes again after lunch to do some more of the old walls, didn't realize they extended out so far.

Tomorrow hopefully going out to Lindisfarne, been a few years since we were last there.

Weather for the weekend at Scarborough isn't looking great.

Looks like not a full lockdown back home thankfully. More details today I think.

We love Berwick TG we always take a cycle out to the Lighthouse we are hoping to get in to the site there for a few days on our way home from our Yorkshire trip later this month. If you are looking for a place for a quiet drink I recommend the Barrels Ale house just over the old bridge lovely quirky little pub that’s where I normally sit while SWMBO goes round the shops lol

We did our NT Stourhead visit, much too busy this time, they'd really let everyone in, bookings or no bookings. Not too bad walking round the estate but it did seem as though we were all in a procession. Can't see the point of set Covid walking routes now, they might as well let everyone go where they want, it might space people out more. Lovely Autumn colours starting and they're doing illuminated evenings later in the year. Good to get out...trying to avoid that cooped up feelings as the year shortens!

Glad the trips away are going well. Berwick on Tweed has a lot going for it, I love the "wall" walks there and the coast line.

Had a good walk around our local lanes this morning as the sun was shining☀️☀️. Mind you it was noticeably cool.

Not had a chance since we returned at the end of last month due to one thing or another and quite a few surprises. Half finished house now complete, House with 20 huge, ginormous conifers now has 20 huge, ginormous trunks, OAP bungalows having their front gardens ripped out by council etc. Nobody cleared anything through us!

Bit of gardening done this afternoon. Brown bins overflowing.

Went for a stroll along the front at Wells next the sea this morning .Boy that was a tad bracing .😁. Have been here at Sandringham for the past week , and today has been the first dry day, up until now . Hopefully the next week will be better. Site is close to full , which is a bonus for CMC .

Lovely visit to Felbrigg. Lots of cars there, but thankfully the Walled Garden area wasn’t very busy, so we could take our time and really enjoy inspecting the plants and seasonal fruit and veg. Mum had a good walk round, so nice bit of exercise for her, OH disappeared with pooch and his chariot to walk the Estate.

I’ve cracked the Aga now, tomorrow’s casserole bubbling away in hot oven, Mum’s dinner on the simmer plate, and ours on the hot plate. The dog’s extras (veg bits) slowly poaching in slow oven. Socks airing on the rail😂

The kitchen has two fridges, one a built in under counter, the other a big free standing job with a freezer above. If it was me, I would ditch the under counter and put in a dishwasher. I have washed more pots this week than I have in the last twenty years☹️ I loathe washing pots.

Sorry I missed this Tinny😁 No not yesterday, we didn’t walk too far, as we had dog and no chariot with us. We have encountered seals on beaches before here though. Folks are stupid with them sadly, get way too close, then there’s usually the unsupervised child left to frighten them away. It’s a very unique coastline between Brancaster and Sheringham, quite eerie in a way. You wouldn’t want to be out there in the dark or fog. I love North Norfolk, high on my list of UK’s nicest areas.

Felbrigg is one of my favourite walled gardens TDA. I have missed our visit there this year. Glad you had a good time. We will hopefully get there next year. Will you be able to get to Blickling?

We visited Wells last month trellis. It was a beautiful day  😎. Shorts and T shirt weather ....... sorry! Wells is always lovely though whatever the weather.

Glad you managed to get out for a good walk WN.

I made the most of the dry weather today and did loads of washing all dried on the line. OH had a good morning gardening at the Cathedral. He came home the proud owner of a new badge with the Cathedral logo on saying 'Volunteer Gardener'. He now just has to remember to wear it whenever he goes there!

We too like Fellbrigg, lots of space to walk with Flyte.

Millie, when is it your first day as guide at the Cathedral, it can't be long now? All the best and I hope it goes well. (Apologies if I've missed your report of having already done it)

It turned out a better day than forecast today. We had a good walk before lunch, right round Loch Morlich, then a shorter one in the afternoon along part of the Old Logging Trail. We wanted to get back to hear what was going to happen up here with regards to a lockdown. Fortunately there's only going to be local restrictions, although no serving of alcohol inside pubs and restaurants after 6:00 pm......but that at won't bother us. So it's onward and upward, as they say.smile

Good to here that those out and about have had a fine day and managed to get walks and cycle rides in without getting wet.

One of the old roads/lanes just down the road from us has been "converted?" to a cycle/pedestrian only (Gov funded) , no entry to other traffic (had been used as a rat run)has been causing a bit of confusion  ,especially as some cannot read the road signs (ask DC to try wink) so took Rosa to have a look, easy walk via our private lake/nature reserve ,the chalk stream/river is still over the banks good job i had my wellies on ,Rosa got a "bit muddy"surprised Family of swans on lake 5 cygnets,(its what can be seen from east coast route going north over Digswell Viaduct)

Too late , already seen it.😭. Lovely cottage , there are some beautiful properties around this area. We were here last June and it chucked it down   then so should be used to it . Don't think North Norfolk likes us . Trip on the Poppy line on Friday from Holt to Sheringham , who knows it may even stay dry .😁😁.

It’s a stunning place, our kind of home, being old and full of character. It hasn’t been easy with Mum though, it’s very big, has lots of steps inside, thresholds across doors, and OH raps his noodle every day going through the low doors. We have sat a few times pondering on what we would do if it was ours, as you do. But it’s lovely inside, bedrooms have old fire places, there are book cases all over, some very interesting art works. The garden is absolutely to die for if like me you love gardening. Needs a bit of work to tidy it up a bit, its looking rather Autumnal now, but my green fingers have been twitching. I’ve found some hollyhock seed pods, so will take some home as a memento😁 It’s on the edge of the woods that back onto the Club Site, footpath right outside.

Had thought about Blickling. We have all been before, but not keen on going indoors at moment with Mum, and Blickling is more about the house than the gardens. We did look at Hindringham, but it’s only open 10-1pm, and we are all enjoying leisurely breakfasts, so closes too early for us. We have avoided the larger towns, just too busy. I think we might just take car to Cley tomorrow, look in deli and a couple more small shops, then up to Wildlife Trust visitor centre (they have loos😂) have a look in shop there. Sadly, most of the churches are still locked up (understandable) butvwe are missing looking around these. OH is hoping to go cycling...

Best wishes with the Guiding Millie👍

Action-packed day yesterday. Off for a flu jab then back home to load bikes in the MH, followed by a cursory wash of the roof prior to some polishing. Had intended to do the front moulding, which because of the shape of things involved all manner of contortions. I don't think the original owner had ever given it any attention as it was effectively a matt finish. After attacking it with MER, I only managed half of it before time and exhaustion brought the exercise to an end.

This morning everything aches, so I'm grateful for the inclement weather as an excuse to postpone episode two. The rest of the van looks reasonably shiny so hopefully this is the worst bit and the remainder of the van won't be so laborious.

I you are going to Cley go a couple of miles further on the A149 to Blakeney  Key,(NT car park) if the little food cabins are  still open the Breakfast Baps are yummy  (the one on the right) or the Home made fish finger rolls (the one on the left) plus the soft ice cream from over the road (there are toilets nearby)

We were there a few days ago JV thanks. Parked up in MH, we had bought lots of seafood elsewhere. A nice afternoon, warm, cosy after a walk and with our own sanitised loo!😁
