Groan groan !
Just seen on BBC Red button Text that Morrisons have started to prepare for " Madness in a Rush " by limiting customers buying Loo rolls , antiseptic, disinfectant etc to only three or so. They must have limited faith in the brain power of their c c customers

Well done Morrison’s for being proactive👍🏻, it’s a pity they have to stop the hoarders from panic buying. I remember the photo of the new Mum on tv in tears looking at the empty shelves on the previous panic buying time☹️

Getting blown about a bit on the NYM site, near Whitby. Really should have taken the awning down yesterday ( how many times have I said that in the past!) Still, so far so good and keeping my fingers crossed that the extra pegging out and storm straps will keep it secure.
What I can’t understand, though - is what good the Warden thinks he is doing - out there in the pouring rain and 50 mph winds - with the leaf blower??!!😕

May have nothing else left to do or perhaps if they point it at the ground hoping for take off, sorry my sense of humour as have seen this on an advert on tv. Stay safe. It is very windy here and now getting a lot more wind from the north as a local woodland has been chopped down this year and plenty of wood for the woodburners in about two years. Gone a lot colder here today only 12c outside a bit different to last Friday when it was over 30C, the weekend is going to be cooler still and nights down to single figures brr.
We were going away for the first time this year in just over a week for about 12 days but have decided that due to corvid-19 cases going up here and where we were going is in the red zone so may try again later in the year as the site is open all year or try another site not so far away again open all year.

Bring it up at the next meeting you chair JV under fuel/time wasting👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

🤣 are they still at it!! We were there 11 days ago in similar weather, ok not quite as windy, but nearly on a couple of days! We wondered the same thing. OH thought it something to do with reducing the slip hazard with wet leaves. Maybe??! It does look hilarious though in the circumstances.

Blowing about a bit too on the NE coast, feels like being on a boat just now.
Hang onto that awning R&R I think it's going to be a very windy weekend.
Hope you can get away later RedKite. This is the part of our trip where we meet the family from a distance. We can't go to their home or garden, so it's going to be like Wuthering Heights on the hills, cliffs (or the beach.
)Have a good weekend everyone.

Nice day today. Had a lazy morning then headed across to Maryport a drive. Town centre was empty but we went a walk around the harbour area some lovely views was a bit chilly though. Got a take away from Greggs for lunch and ate that over looking the sea. We then took a pleasant drive up the coast towards Silloth on the way went for a look at a couple of CLs we have earmarked for a visit both looked fine so will try and pencil in a visit to them at some point hopefully nest year. Stopped at Siloth for a while lovely little town we hadn’t been there since 1993 so quite a while. Now back at the van actually quite warm here tonight so we cooked pizza on the Cadac for dinner. Not much planned tonight probably just a few drinks and a film.
Hope everyone else has a nice weekend

Very windy here today. It kept blowing the Cathedral doors open so it was a rather bracing morning ☹. We braved Lidl this afternoon, the pasta and rice aisle was complety empty 😡. There were far too many people there for me so I am going back to online shopping.

Yup, crazy time is back again Millie. I did an Aldi shop yesterday, it was quiet thankfully, and plenty of items well stocked, so it’s not universal madness yet. I confess to two cartons of longlife milk, but only because we always have a couple in MH, and I was restocking.
Successfully restyled Mum’s hair this morning. Only a simple bob like cut, but it’s neat and tidy and she likes it. OH was on hand to do lots of little DIY jobs for her as well. Briefly saw SiL and her partner, and BIL at a distance, so nice to say hello in person to them.
We are awaiting quote following boiler fitting survey yesterday. Fingers crossed, but it could actually all be free. Relocating costs might be only factor, but likely to be in three figures rather than four.🤞

We've moved up to Whins CL near Annan, after an interesting 3 nights at Slapestones Villa. Wednesday we went to Lowther Castle, where they've added a new series of exhibition rooms. On need to book on line, just wear mask at reception. Not many visitors about so no problems with separation. Then into Penrith to pick up a replacement gas bottle. Fortunately I'd reserved one as they had a delivery of only 2 that lunchtime and it would have gone otherwise. Back on site met up with the WNs who had arrived at lunchtime. Yesterday, because of the forecasted rain, we'd planned a walk through Greythwaite Forest but area was closed off, so we ended up with a pleasant walk around Greythwaite itself. More rain in the afternoon so just a second, rather wet, walk from the van. A few beers and glasses of gin were sampled along with some great conversation over the last 2 evenings.....socially separated of course. It was great to meet up again.

Ah, well, we have plenty of pasta, and rice, and toilet rolls, we are always well stocked in case of bad weather, so sure we will be OK for a bit!
We have started buying the filtered milk, 2 x 2 litres at a time, from Lidl, which has a long shelf life, so shopping less often these days.
We have Lidl and Farmfoods within a 5 minute walk, may need to stock up on frozen veg again if people are going crazy.

I think shops should use a bit of reverse Psychology with these products. They should make a very large pile inside the front door of the supermarket and add a large sign saying available for panic buyers!!!! I expect it would be the same size pile at the end of the day!!!

Drove down from Penrith, grateful that the wind was behind us pushing us home. Took us 3 hours give or take.
Enjoyed our 24 nights away in the North East and South East Scotland and it was grand bumping into Nellie as he started his northward bound sojourn just as we were ending ours. It would have been rude to just wave as we passed by on the M6.
I'll have you know that I only had the flavoured water.
One of these days it will be good to get back to normal and give Mrs Nellie a hug ( or if I have a few too many flavoured waters give Mr.Nellie a hug
). Hope they get to complete their itinerary.
We've got a click and collect tomorrow and I've already noticed that a few of the items have disappeared. What is the matter with these Numbskulls? Don't they realise that once things settled down after the first time that there was sufficient for everyone. Totally selfish behaviour which smacks of a very stupid general attitude of a small minority of the population.

Nah, WN I'd get my memory working again and find a Sunday Times, Daily Telegraph and Crewe Chronicle ! Plus a sharpened pair of large pinking shears of course to avoid those 'orrid paper cuts

Ooops, nearly forgot to say I'd hang up a couple of sharpened pencils, naturally

Not seen any panic buying here when I was in Aldi yesterday, mind you now the weekend is on us that could change as someone gets a whiff of it.

Its been another lovely day here, OH has been out working on the MH we had what looked like a leak from under the engine. Turns out it was a pipe drainage, coming down from the scuttle, that was blocked with old leaves and debris. OH had to take the wheel off to get access to it, that in itself was a task he thinks they have never been removed before. Now all cleaned out and wheels greased (he did both front ones)
I did housework
then some sewing (masks) then managed to escape into the garden for a couple of hours. That's all the cotoneasters, that grow up the trellis along the back of the garden, trimmed ready for winter, we have 13, 6 x 6 foot panels. Then I tackled the big Berberis (now medium) manged to pick up quite a few scratches along the way but it felt good to be in the garden and getting things tidied up.Hope those out with vans are safe and out of the wind and rain, its sounds awful in some places. We had a hailstone shower yesterday, came out of nowhere, lasted about 10 mins, looked like winter after it had finished but then the sun came back out and it all disappeared.
Have a good weekend one and all, stay safe.
