What are you all up to

Sorry to hear your take of woe, millie. Glad to hear that OH is home safe and sound. A worrying time for you though, hope that you're recovered your composure.
Glad that the trip down to the coast went well, WN, and that the CL reaches your high expectations.
Sounds like a good day out at Brodsworth, tda. Good to hear that you all enjoyed your time there.
Hope that your bbq went to plan TG.
We went to Quarry Mill and Styl today. Very well organised, although not as,busy as we've seen it in the past. Only the gardens and the estate open, but plenty to do however. Lots of families with small children enjoying their day out, and the ice cream too.

Sorry from me as well Millie (having passed out on the train last year for similar reasons) I'm glad to hear Mr H got home safely, hope he takes it easy now.
Good to read what others have been up to, our plans didn't happen today but I did some gardening instead and then took an evening delivery for food. The freezer cabinet had broken down on the van and apparently no-one got their frozen orders today, luckily our stuff was of the chilled variety etc.

TTDA, yes that area. Thought our son was exaggerating when he's been telling us how things are but have to agree with him it's crazy.
Took a drive to Cannon Hall yesterday, didn't stop just turned round and came back to CL via a reservoir we know of. The grounds of the hall were packed, car parks almost full folk everywhere. Not comfortable with that amount of crowds.
Currently in a traffic jam on A1
roadworks. It's been a long way to come and not get the sat dish fitted but the up side is we got to see the gkids. Boy have they grown, not seen them since last November.
NTH, BBQ was good

P H E W 😱☀️ 35c here in the deep shade!
Needless to say doing very little. Thank goodness for a north facing lounge. That's something you won't here me utter very often! Even got the fans out stirring the air.
We were to have friends join us this afternoon but they've just called to say they can't face the pavement walk between our houses, just 42 houses. I can't say I blame them but sad as we've not seen them for a catch up, other than passing comments and odd phone calls, since lockdown. Seems forever since we've had visitors.
Been reading others news regularly but site so slow and difficult I've not posted! I'm generally time limited or exhausted, oh for some of Tammygirl's energy 🤣
Still plodding on here, was to meet a friend yesterday, 1st time since lockdown, but had to take OH to hospital check up. His ICD had activated and they wanted to check him and it out they decided on Monday. Just medication change thankfully. It had activated once very early on Sunday morning and twice last Friday evening, that's why we're trying to stay cool, he felt nothing. Physiologist very surprised as most folk say it's like being kicked in the chest by a horse!
We have managed a couple of meals out, both in the garden of a local pub. One managed with friends 😂 so not totally Billy no mates! Other than that just nibbling away at routine stuff here and clearing at mums. Still having wobbly times! Having to get out in nature to walk the puppy is uplifting though 😀
Not liking what I'm reading about social distancing on here or in the press. Really cannot understand folks mentality - that said on the couple of occasions I've ventured out into town I haven't been comfortable, as despite council and shop best practices folks disregard signs and systems.
Milliehull what a worrying time for you both. Why do some folks have to be so independent? Glad it all seems to be ok now.
Loving reading about folks trips and outings, please keep posting 😀
Might just start removing photos from frames so the latter can go to charity shops. Beginning to think mums house is/was Tardis like - so much stuff 😱. Son coming down next Wednesday for few days to help us and at mums - so looking forward to that, but need to find his bed under bags and boxes bought here for sorting!
Boy has posting this been hard! Several road signs and no action........

There’s light at the end of the tunnel Bakers, and I have no doubts you are in the thoughts of a lot of folks on here😁 Must be an emotional roller coaster, and then the stress with your OH as well. This heat doesn’t help, but to be honest, I’m not complaining, rather this than dull grey rain.
This time last year we were down on Dartmoor, fortnight away in a gorgeous cottage, but we had torrential rain almost every day. The only day it was really nice was when we met up with some chums in Cornwall for a lovely meal and a stroll. That’ll teach us, keep going through Devon😂........
We have had a garden meet up with SIL and her OH. Very nice afternoon, if a little warm. Only second time we have seen them since March, so good to catch up, and have a proper natter.☀️☀️☀️☀️

Good to hear from you B2 and that your OH is now "fixed up" once more, hope you can stay cool in the heat. High humidty here with odd spots of rain, strange weather.
OH survived his eye appointment, but only just as Talullah the "Chew wah wah" ate the protector on one arm of his glasses just as he was about to leave home...luckily the opticians had a spare. Keep telling him to put his glasses on a much higher surface! New prescription needed and he weedled a 20% discount for the new glasses...having spent all of £60 pounds on the frames...skinflint non fashion choice.

Talking about charity shops I also sent him off with the first of two boxes that I had ready to go, unfortunately they are still in the back of the car as neither of the nearest local shops are taking things at the moment. OH a bit displeased after doing a balancing act with two boxes in the heat.
After that we battled with the holiday traffic to pick up fishing club orders from the printers.

We arrived here on site just after 5 lovely weather most of the day so went to local butchers before we left and bought nice steak burgers to put on Cadac but by the time we got here and for set up it was pouring but there was a slight break in the rain so that gave me enough time to get the burgers on and cooked and the rain came on again just as they were ready so we’ll timed Not be doing much tonight just watching the snooker probably and listening to the rain On the roof of the van.

Thanks for your kind words and wishes brue and takethedogalong much appreciated.
Photos removed from frames and those not already labelled marked up - starting a pile to post to daughter in NZ. Prepared a box and a bag to go with the frames - happened to open box to add something to find OH had removed items 😤😤😤. They're back in the box now, he'd not only removed them but put them in drawers not to be discovered! A sharp exchange of words! We do not need more stuff here!
Hit 36c here now overcast forecasting 28 overnight 😱😱
Francis where are you? Please describe rain 🤣🤣. Theres something very comforting listening to the rain on the van roof.
Almost burnt my foot with the initial water leaving the hosepipe, good job I didnt point straight at the pots!

Best of luck B2. Keep at it girl.

Day spent on the bikes. Will not be sleeping on my bum tonight.😨 First cycle of the year, across the Lleyn Peninsula from near Criccieth to Caernarvon. Maybe we should have chosen something a bit nearer. We enjoyed it though. The weather got better the longer the day went on. Nice to see the tops of the mountains in the afternoon whereas they looked angry in the morning. Back to the caravan and a nice sit out in the late afternoon sun with a drink.
Methinks it will be on 2 legs tomorrow.
Photo of Caernarvon castle on our approach.

Glad to hear that both you and your OH are well, now that he has been sorted out, B2. Stay safe.
It has been a stonkingly hot day here today, but not as high as down in the south. We only had a couple of walks around the site today, Fortunately it has dulled up a bit tonight so may be cooler than last night, when sleeping was difficult.
You'll have to get a new saddle with extra padding, WN.😃

Back home and all unpacked, journey home took 2 hrs longer than journey down due to holdups on the A1 and Edinburgh.
Just managed to get everything unloaded and we had a passing shower of rain. Its not hot here at all in fact as the house has been empty with no heating on it feels rather chilly compared to being in the MH.
It's not often that I'm glad we have different weather to down south but I am just now, too hot to do anything and to sticky at night times to sleep thanks but no thanks you can keep it

Off food shopping tomorrow and hopefully collecting the caravan from service.

Several showers here today to keep me cool, the temperature was quite pleasant, and it was sunny between the showers.
Spent most of the day cutting the neighbour's hedge, having rashly offered when she said she could not find anyone willing to do it. That involved moving the caravan, so wanted to get it all done in one go.Afterwards she came round with a box of chocolates for me. When I fixed SIL's sister's bed last weekend, she gave me a box of chocolate biscuits.......too much chocolate! Rationing will be needed.
Was just having a rest while OH was making dinner when there was a cry of distress from the kitchen........the combi microwave had gone daft! Cannot be switched on to anything sensible, even after turning off and on several times, so looks like we will need a new one. Meantime we can borrow a basic microwave from DD, they have a spare as their new house came with a built in combi microwave.
I suppose we cannot complain too much, we have had the appliance since April 1987. Now we have to decide what to replace it with. I have suggested an ordinary microwave, but OH is set on another combi. I know who will prevail!
After dinner DS came on line to ask if I knew if there was a dedicated stopcock for their washing machine........why ask me......I did install it for them 10 years back when they moved house, but.......he could just get down and peer under the sink himself!
Apparently their 22 year old WM has just expired, so they are ordering a new one and wondering about installation, and disconnection and removal of the old wreck. I have offered to go over and help if he cannot manage it alone.
2 bits of good news.....DD has finally got the building warrant for her new roof.......and all her tests came back clear. So tomorrow we are hoping to find out whether it is to be a boy or a girl.
Now busy making some more washable masks for them, as they are going out a bit more.

Lovely bright sunny day not overly hot just nice.
Shopping done first, then round to europarts to collect LPG connectors for Europe. The go and collect the caravan from its service, job done no issues and almost half the price as going to the main dealer.
While there discussed satellite dish fitting, much better response than down in Yorkshire. If things work out ok he may well get the job, we need to go to him with the MH for him to check the roof area first. Looks like it might be a Maxview this time around.
Not sure what the rest of today will bring but the washing machine is on and 2 more loads to do. Broad beans need picking and the vans need washing. Would like to go for a bike ride at some point so looks like we are going to be busy

Have a good weekend everyone.

Lovely very warm day in Keswick. Busy but seen it much busier.

Helped with milking then CS? Goldie will be proud.
Is that the end of the family break then? Seems like you enjoyed it.We caught an early bus to Porthmadog and walked back to Criccieth along the Welsh Coast Path, about 7 miles away.
A glorious day. Never been here when the weather has been so good. Photos of the harbour at the start of the walk and looking down on a bay en route.

No we didn't but if you zoom in some did look very full.
Another week for us

Large spacious CL for us on the outskirts of a pretty village. Strolled in for a pint in the garden of the local and relaxed in the sunshine for the rest of the day.

We too have arrived on a CL, which we used last September, near Welshpool. Short walk past typical pub to the Montgomery Canal, where we had a short walk after lunch, before sitting outside in a pleasant gentle breeze. Nowhere as hot as yesterday, thankfully.
Grand photos of Derwent, and the Welsh coast.
Good to hear that the van service went without a hitch, TG.

Nice pics from all of you!
I'm sitting outside in the twilight, music is drifting up from the pub and we've just taken the dogs out (visiting dog here again.) Passed people having late meals in their back gardens, some have lovely hill views.
Daughter and partner are doing a gig in Bridgwater, outside venue, called off last time due to a thunderstorm, think we might get some of those soon as it's so warm and humid. Daughter reacted badly to a jellyfish sting swimming at Charmouth this week, a delayed reaction and quite severe. Has vowed to wear her wetsuit and water shoes in future. 🐙
Hope those in the south are surviving the heat, TG you are right about the cooler evenings in Scotland, I'm missing them just now!

Spent a fair bit of today Burning off weeds with my new toy -- better than weedkiller or so folk tell me, then got the strimmer and machete type thing out & found another way of punishing those green growy things !! then sat back & watched some peoples on t.v. enjoying areas of flat green stuff ~~ crikkit and snooker, but NOT on the same pitch of course

Spent a happy hour this morning cropping back two loads of lavender for aged sister ~~ seems a good swap to me
.No no , seriously she does like to dry the flower heads and put them wherever Alfie Cat likes to curl up !! Hope you all are enjoying doing whatever you are doing. It is still warm in south Cheshire, not too oppressive in fact, although grey n cloudy it's still bright enough to lie back & read by, so after a light lunch I just might get the Kindle and try an o t h……………..z z z z z .

That’s us back home after a nice 2 nights away at Ayr Craigie club site after the rain we had for most of Friday night yesterday and today have been glorious weather warm and sunny. Site was very busy. Easy 35 min tow home today just about to wash the caravan and car and put the van back in it’s space. Away again next weekend just local but looking forward to it all the same.
hope everyone else is having a nice weekend

It's busy here, first lot of cider apples are being crushed and juiced but not by us, daughter's partner has got the urge! Even the wasps haven't stopped him. This is a lovely light cider that used to go out unfermented to the harvest workers in the fields. A good crop from one very big tree this year. 🍏🍏🍏

We've gradually been gathering together all the stuff we'll need for our trip away tomorrow. I usually don't take much food, following the mantra "they have shops in Scotland, you know", but as I've not been in a shop since mid March I'm taking as much as I can. The drink is the main problem - calculating how much wine to take (a bottle a day), and then how much tonic? If it seems to be running out, I have a cunning plan - make the G&T stronger!
I've missed someone cooking for me, so I've got a load of "posh" frozen meals to take - from COOK. Plus our own beef to cook on the barbecue. And a couple of packets of bread mixes. I'll miss my bread maker though.
Today is work as usual for my husband (and son and grandsons) - stone picking a newly ploughed and seed field.
1 -
Have a good break Goldie and great photo just showed it to OH and said our plot here would take a lifetime to clear as we are on solid limestone, the local farmers seemed to have the right equipment for ploughing as over the years the stones do seemed to get smaller if there are big stones then they get moved to the side of the field.
Very hot again here 38C on our weather station to hot to do anything outside now did a few chores earlier in the day and we did have a short shower of rain and 1 clap of thunder although more forecast this coming week and cooler days.

I'll miss seeing that at Dorset this year, Brue. They brought in the Apple crusher and a donkey to power it just walking at a steady pace round and round. The apples came in by the "transit" load as did some bottles
. They do not have a licence to sell the fermenting juice, but they wash out the bottles and sell them. If there is any juice therein, well that's somebody's good fortune isn't it
Still warm but cloudy then clearing followed by more clouds etc.
Francis, if you do valeting as well as washing I might just bring my 'van up to save you wasting time getting the kit out -- you might as well do two as well as one, perhaps
