One of the elderly neighbours I get shopping for managed to go on the bus to town this week. She remarked how quickly the journey went WN. The stops were different too. The bus drivers have been driving empty buses until recently, hope they remember what they are for! My neighbour was quite pleased with her efforts although the shops were very quiet apparently.

I reckon that if all hairdressers charged a fee for the first haircut after the ending of lockdown by sheer weight of hair cropped they would make up a sizeable amount of the lost income.

Mrs WN still waiting for first appointment but has managed to get one for her mother. Mrs WN's beginning to morph into a Beatle cut.

Just had a message from daughter to say they have won a prize to have a holiday in Australia. They have to take it by November 2021 so hopefully travel will be ok then.
Up early this morning so had a six mile walk starting at 6.30am. Sat at the harbours mouth and watched the shipping movements.
Just had a short sharp rain shower, not enough to do much good

That's a rotten, naughty, 'orrible idea WN ~-~-~ just think how much 'filler' they will be able to offer to the newest Cub scouts for their sleeping bags and, on a " Collect it Yourself for a small fee " basis they will be quids in { Brian is speaking from first hand knowledge !!

Hi Brian. Thanks for asking. Ruth seems to have settled in at Stornaway Hospital... as well as any health care workers are in these rather grim times! She's mainly working in training and updates, so I guess she doesn't see as many patients as she did when she was at A&E in Manchester some years past. They've settled in their 'new' house and are gradually doing it up. Her husband works in...... Switzerland!! He has a 'full-time' job there, but only goes over for 10 days each month. Mind you.... he's going nowhere at present!!
Our other daughter is in Falmouth... she stayed there after Uni, and our son and his family live here in the village. At least we managed a Zoom quiz night once a week, together with my sister and B I.L. and a few nephews and nieces!!

Wet day here today, tomorrow by all account it might be a bit drier

Food shopping all done this morning, shops not as busy as the last couple of weeks maybe now they have the others to go round they're fed up with the supermarkets.

OH and BIL did some work up in the attic when we returned from shopping.
I just did housework and more sewing.
Appointment for this afternoon rescheduled to tomorrow morning.

Glad to hear your daughter is settling down fine in Stornaway David.

Been a bit mixed as far as the weather goes today with short showers, just enough to make me clean my specs, again and again ! Not cold tho' but grey and unpleasant looking ~ the sky not yours truly
.Still I've got the last load in the dryer so I'll be away with the fairies in not too long a while, just a warm drink and a couple or three chapters then lots of zzzzzzz's I hope with the same wishes for all of you

Pouring down here. Just got back from Aldi in Beverley where I stocked up on toilet fluid for the van - now have enough to last at least a year - or three, if the second wave comes!

Retaxed the MoHo yesterday, refitted the spare wheel after a bit of cosmetic tlc to the rim. Removed the blocks and she is now sitting back on her wheels. All set for a Hab check on Monday and then reload all our stuff ready for a long overdue foray. Having a rendezvous in a couple of weeks with No1 daughter and family who will be on their way to a cottage in Northumberland.

Just had a look at the toilet fluid I bought from Aldi. (Didn't have my glasses with me when I was in there). Bought a load of blue fluid and then I saw they had some green - not seen that before - so bought a couple of those as well - just in case we ended up on a CL where they insisted on biodegradable stuff or whatever it is.
As far as I can tell, from the 'ingredients', - they're identical and no mention of the green being bio 'friendly'.
Looks like a bit of clever marketing!

7.30 am Tesco run this morning. Less than a dozen others shopping at that time of the day so these idiots joined them. No problems. Nice to see one of our favourite assistants back behind the till after a 15 week absence.
Just had confirmation through for a CL booking in a fortnights time. It's only about an hour away so fingers crossed that we can make it. Only the 1 week at the moment.
Mrs WN and MiL giving the bus another try tomorrow.
I have been reading this morning of a University in Alabama where students have a competition and the winner gets the prize money. Guess what you have to do to win it? Catch Coronavirus!😱 Yes you read that right. A group of them try to catch this deadly disease for fun. The first one to be tested positive picks up the loot. You just have to shake your head in amazement that these people are either allowed to vote or soon will be. I know a lot of us will have done something stupid in our youth but I think this beats Teresa May's running through the cornfields.

Glad you have something arranged CY and WN. Got the ok from consultant yesterday at check up so we are off next week. The last tome we were out in the van was the weekend before lockdown hope we remember how to hitch it on etc and all our checks it’s strange how you forget things. Looking forward to it though

I have been watching some of the US debates around wearing of masks and inoculations. Jaw dropping some of the comments and beliefs. It’s left me very fearful for them to be honest. One person’s freedom is another person’s death sentence. It’s a difficult mind set to relate to in all honesty.

Reading the thread up forum about renewing a driving licence I suddenly remembered my Bus Pass runs out at the end of the month!! I have done the old Soviet trick of submitting a photo that is several years old!!! No one looks at the photo as the passes are all scanned now. I am trying to think when I was last on a bus, probably December last year when we were at Bladon Chains!!!

Yesterday we extracted our motorhome from her secure storage site and, with the benefit of a new starter battery, drove a few miles to Staunton Harold reservoir. We took sandwiches and a flask of cofee, and had luch looking out at the swans, anglers and Mums with toddlers.
We had a short walk and then back to storage. It was the first time out since March.

R & R,
I hope that the 'Green' and the 'Blue' , if they are identical, were the same price !!
As for your glasses, I have, this very afternoon, retrieved my spare pairs { Bi-focals & reading } from the 'van for their annual clean & check over
so right now I'm wearing the old 'readers' - the only real way to check them in truth. After wearing specs for nigh on 70 years I always carry spares in the van to comply with the licence rules, even tho' after having the cataract ops some 15 years ago, I can easily achieve the mandatory distance tests, I cannot read the form to see where to sign

TTDA, I have not been watching those debates -- after receiving a teehee--mail from a friend on an island in the seas south of Florida I would doubt my sanity if they bear any similarity to that !!
The Lady on the Video concerned has a most determined, upfront answer to all things C19 related but sadly bearing very little relationship to science !!

Fascinating insight into another country😲 Mind, I am sure aspects of our country are possibly just as barking to others elsewhere. 51k new cases yesterday alone. I am reminded of Nero fiddling, while Rome burned all around him!

A very grey day here, fine rain with occasional heavier bursts most of the morning. However, it dried up enough this afternoon to drive to Clumber for a walk. We parked on Lime Tree Avenue and walked round the lake, over the newly refurbished bridge, which now looks very smart. The coffee waggon was even present at the bottom of the lake, all socially distanced and contactless payment. Not that many young ducks or geese in evidence, although we did see a couple of Coot chicks.

Try getting your head around the whole Qanon sect that conspiracy theory defies adult belief yet it has 50k followers. Geez I’m sooooo happy being me👍🏻. I saw some of the threats made by anti-maskers too🤷🏻♂️☹️

Daren’t get too embroiled in talking about it Rocky, verboten on here, but it’s a very worrying situation. Did you see they have bought up the World supply of Remdesvir for next few months as well? Not good☹️

I blame the drug company’s as much as the country in question. The WHO is investigating. . .Really?🙄

Not to worry though as The Lone Ranger and Silver are on the case. Yep, that'll work.🤔
Looking out of the front window it looks like Armageddon approaching. Glad I mowed the front lawn this afternoon. Brown bin collection tomorrow as well.
