I got more requests for masks (24) from village folk, all made and some of them have been collected. More elastic on order and more requests for masks. 👏

Well done TG.  Mrs One has now finished making scrub bags and has also started on masks for care homes👏

The puppy looks very sweet B2.  Very chilled!  What is her(?) name?  I must have missed that post.   Good luck with it all, and I’m sure you will both get many years of love and companionship from your new charge.

Fortunately the new battery in the car seems to be work OK so we decided to have a bit of a run out to Central Milton Keynes, which, as it turned out is very much like a ghost town at the moment. It was only a ride! Most of the cars were parked around M&S as they have a large food hall. Very little traffic around but the various Parks quite busy. We have a cricket ground near the centre which has terraced viewing areas, today being used for picnics - easy to maintain distancing. Came back over the M1 which was pretty quiet.

Finally we ran out of Tolkien connections,

Surely you could have named him Gollum. I'm sure he would have loved it just as much as Flyte. Whether you two would have is a different matter.sealed " Here Gollum, good boy" Has a nice "Ring" to it.smile

We've had a great day out walking along the Kennet & Avon canal and the river Avon from Freshford to Bradford on Avon and back via Westwood. Plenty of folk out on the towpath and especially at the marina. I think the last time we did this walk it was in the company of Nellie and Mrs N (and Flyte of course!) smile

Back from our little trip out to visit my mum,

very surprised at how quiet the roads are on a very lovely day (still no rain!)

MH was running perfectly so all the bits and bobs I have done seem to have worked, there was a bit of just detectable brake pedal pulsing but this soon cleared, must of been corrosion or dust build up, we seem to be getting half the Sahara desert dropped on the Isle at the moment, there is sand everywhere!

Spent the afternoon sat in mum's back garden enjoying a cuppa and chit chat, even Bramble maintained 2m distancewink cheered Mum up no end.

A very pleasant day, well worth 2 gallons of petrol (18mpg surprised in the old van!) and 36 mile round trip.

Really good news Moulesy. I’m glad others have hearing problems with parents. My mother wouldn’t wear her hearing aid and I used to come away from visiting her with a banging headache because of having to shout to be heard. 😊

Great news M. We too have an ongoing hearing aid drama. MiL's  makes a crinkling sound so we suggested reverting to her old NHS ones which she now finds perfect. Only £1,000 wasted!surprised

We play 'hunt the hearing aid' regularly as OH is always losing his. I found it in the food waste caddy bin on Wednesday - don't ask!! 🤣.

Really great news about your Dad Moulesy. Such a relief for you.

Brilliant news M, so glad he’s come through everything ok. We have exactly the same with Mum and her hearing. She was given an hearing aid years ago, refused to use it, doesn’t need it. Then she wonders why there is a degree of exasperation in our third time of repeating something. I did ask the doc about it, but she just said don’t bother, she won’t change. Still takes her glasses off for photos. Once a Diva, always a Diva. Can’t see, can’t hear, but still beautiful. It’s a real struggle for her, as she can’t abide missing out on a conversation😂

That's great news Moulesy, Mum used to lose her's on a regular basis, then when we asked her were it was, she denied ever having one. Always happy when we found it though so she could hear laughinglaughing

That is precisely why we didn't want to choose another Tolkien name...there isn't one that we could think of that was not one of the well known ones, such as Bilbo or Thorin etc or one that we would have been embarrassed to shout, Golum being one of those.laughing

Remember it well, M, including spotting the Kingfisher while we were having lunch. Glad that all had a good walk.

Great news about your dad. I'm sure your all relieved to hear that he's now clear, and hopefully unable to catch it again.

No kingfishers today but we did stop in the pub garden for our coffee break. Surprised how many folk were there and the owners seemed quite happy about it, even had the loos open. Dogs were the star attraction of course! laughing

We once stayed on a CL that had the K&A Canal at the bottom of the field, think it might have been in Semington? It was a beautiful old house, with sheep paddocks adjacent. As basic as they come, but the highlight for us was when owner asked if we would like a swim. The house had a lovely outdoor swimming pool in a walled garden. It was a red hot day, and we were exhausted having been diverted driving up from Cornwall. Sadly closed now, but one we would have gone back to again.

Lovely day here in East Norfolk, gentle breeze at the moment.  Think I’m hors de combat today as I have a dirty great blister on my heel, will have to dress it and see if I can hobble around.  Only 46 miles covered last week.

Looks like we will be able to eat all meals in the garden today🌞

A weekly trip out yesterday - Click & Collect from Booths at Kirkby Lonsdale, then back home via a garage to fill the petrol can (for the quad) and a treat - a newspaper! The Sunday Times will last a few days then be put aside for lighting the fire.

And then a bit more baking and relaxing as out weekend off came to an end. We watched a programme I'd recorded on BBC Scotland - "From Scotland With Love". Archive films woven together, but no commentary - just evocative  music from King Creosote. Wonderful.

Today it's all go - the mowers (one at the front one at the back) are on the tractor and it's off to mow we go.

I've got tins full of cakes, cheese grated, eggs chopped, ham sliced ready to feed the workers.

Time to sit down and read.

Hard work for the workers Goldie, but if your weather is anything like ours a bit further South, should be a lovely day. Have a good day😁

Glorious weather here too! Should be getting dressed up for my niece's wedding 😢😢. In fact thinking about leaving home any mo!

Goldie hope the silage goes well, hard but satisfying work, especially when it's all safely stored, a good sense of achievement. Hard on the kitchen staff too - glad you've got time to read 😉😉. That can only happen with good planning and management skills 😂😇

Oneputt that sounds painful, new boots/socks?

Very warm here already, was going to potter in the garden, just popping in some seedlings that can't wait any longer and I'll put the geraniums in pots and retain mums plants in the pits I bought them home in rather than the beds as it's so dry and call it quits as no rain. But too warm now so either later or tomorrow. Well it is a bank holiday 😂

Puppy (heddlo, she's called Dora short for is adorable 🤣. She was to be Lexi but we were waiting until we actually met her to be certain. But her litter was named for finding Nemo, she was Dory, and Dora sort of came from there 😀). Is behaving very well. Dry days and warm clear nights are really helping 😉. Shes easing our non wedding event and it means we have her already rather than collecting this week 😀

    Enjoy your day folks
