Thanks folk
Who spotted the deliberate error in my excitement to post? She was never going to be Lexicon ๐ฑ but Lexi.
Very strange not seeing them in the flesh and watching their antics on video. Hard to tell them apart as they wouldn't play so their collars were always on show as this photo will show!
ABM she is a devil for feet without the floor being added in!
She's chasing hedgehog routes and last night after she'd been in the garden a fox left a large calling card on the patio ๐ฑ. We knew we had one as we've seen it a few times, so well have to be vigilant while shes in the garden too! At least the evenings are light and so she was able to enjoy being out until her bed time. The fox left its card while we ate about 1930 so early,

ADD46 I tried to post this before the maintenance started Wednesday evening. Luckily I copied it before I disappeared.
ADD46 I'd like to say think of Kew, but sadly not. I think its 5x4m. He is working alone and as he said of today if it could go wrong it did ๐ค๐ฏ. Tuesday all 8 windows, 16 blinds including the fan lights and both doors, similar layout to windows and 2 roof blinds fitted. Some of the tension on those needed some tweaking, but the remaining roof blinds being troublesome. He's still at it ๐
Yes we do have a name for puppy, all will be revealed on Friday ๐ see above now.
The chap finally finished about 3pm so have made a start on wiping anything g and everything he may have touched with bleach solution and replaced the all the furniture now, but the windows can wait until tomorrow. Loving the results.

She's beautiful, B2. Enjoy.

What a little beauty Bakers, and I like the name. Sheโs a lovely little pup. Good times for you all to enjoy. ๐
I am cleaning and reorganising our pantry. Well overdue, has suffered a bit from our โoh just put it in thereโ storage techniques, so itโs getting a good do. Rediscovered all sorts of useful stuff, some is out for โterminationโ.

Yes indeed B2

Four weeks ago when OH had his monthly two days off, we took the caravan down the fields in glorious sunshine. Not this time - today the wind has been up to 55 mph and unpleasant to be out in. So we'll just make the most of switching off the 05:00 alarm.
There's plenty to do - especially re the Aga. A vital riddling bit dropped down yesterday and and we have to wait for it to cool down to be fixed back in place. So cheese and biscuits again tonight. Cheese and wine anyone?

A very windy day (it blew my bike over at one point- luckily I wasn't on it at the time) but warm. I took a ride to the outskirts of Durham where I stayed at my first CL (stayed as in 1 minute) and it has now become my favourite CL. Just off the A167 maybe 30 minute walk into Durham. Then onto the Lanchester valley railway path to Consett and back via Stanley. My lunch stop is the third pic. The Roxy, where many a steelworker must have gone to is in a place called Leadgate, called deadgate by its locals, and many a time the L has been changed into a D on the signposts.

Strong winds here too Goldie...cheese and wine, wouldn't it be great to gather in a group to enjoy some, it will have to be virtually won't it.

Bakers2, Dora looks very very cuddly and I'm sure she'll bring you both a lot of happiness after all you've been through. โค

Bakers the new puppy is gorgeous, hope you have many happy years with her.
The day started out fine and sunny with blue sky, very windy. Then we got the rain and the gale force wind. Now back to blue sky and windy but not gale force. More to come tomorrow. Bet the rivers have water in them now.
As I have material and elastic left over from the masks I made for the family, I put a post of our local FB page to ask if anyone wanted any made. Within an hour I had requests for 24 masks.
Oh well as its going to be rainy tomorrow I will have the time to do them
Think the heating might have to go on for an hour tonight.

All our dogs have been puppies when we got them a d so had the pleasure,of naming them ourselves. The first came at a time when I was reading Lord of the Rings to the kids, so we chose Strider (nickname of Aragorn in the book). Then the next had to have a connection, and we didn't think any of the other of the book's characters' names appropriate so chose Reuel instead, J.R.R. Tolkien's 3rd Christian name. Our 3rd we called Beren, from the Silmarilion and JRR's nickname too. Finally we ran out of Tolkien connections, but as after we had Beren put to sleep at Malton we went and sat for a while opposite the lake at Castle Howard, and in memory of that we name our current dog Flyte, after Sebastian Flyte from Brideshead Revisted, filmed at the castle. We too didn't think Sebastian an appropriate name for a Springer.

Love the photos and her name, B2. I'm certain that you both will have lots of fun and get great pleasure from having her as part of your family.

We had a little rain overnight, but today has been dry but very windy. Spent nearly an hour driving down and waiting at our recycling centre this morning before getting rid of a car load of wood and garden waste. After lunch a rather energy sapping 4 mile or so walk.
We managed a walk up one of Wainwright's Outlying Fells on Wednesday, Great Burley, and saw 3 others there, and after lunch a trot along above Dunnerdale. There were lots of vehicles, including 3 M/Hs parked alongside Coniston Water as we came past from Torver towards Nibthwaite.

Couldn't resist sharing this one with you all.
Nellie great names for dogs.
I admire anyone reading Lord of the Rings, I got lost with it, even watching the films ๐ฒ, but to read it aloud I am impressed. I tried it on cassette in the car when driving - still lost couldn't remember if I'd heard that side or not - hopeless case ๐

Wish we could get rid of the garden rubbish, although they are opening them next week its only for domestic waste
no bulk items and no garden waste. Flipping waste of time, we have 12 big bags of garden waste. According to the council that's not until phase 2

They have been emptying the brown garden bin every 2 weeks as normal but with a big garden we need access to the recycle garden waste. According to our council they are only taking bagged general waste, no DIY waste, no bulky items and no garden waste. Seems daft, they wonder why folk are fly tipping. No trailers, no vans and only 6 bags if waste per car, only one person at a time is allowed out of the car, they will not help so if its a 2 person lift you can't take it.

It was a nightly ritual with us especially when away in the caravan. Both The Hobbit, and LotR, have been read that many times that our copies are falling to bits. I must have read it at least a couple of times myself apart from when reading to the kids.

The Brown bins have been collected here every other week for the last month, but as we're not usually home enough to warrant the cost of their collection all we do is bag up our garden waste and I drive down to the Recycling Centre as and when required, during normal circumstances.

Another bright but breezy day still no rain ๐ฑ. We've hosed our garden every evening for the last 4 days. We try not to do it often as it encourages shallow roots rather than them seeming deeper moisture but they've been wilting by lunchtime on the following day!
I've got a few plants from mum's garden to go in plus a few geraniums left over from grave planting. As cheap to buy more than just the amount I required ๐. Can't plant them until we have some of the wet stuff not only forecast but arriving! But no heavy wind or rain for another week please whilst I enjoy my rambling rector ๐๐
Cooler today just as well as I need to clean the conservatory windows.
We've been really lucky, or our council has been good and sorted, as our refuge collections have remained throughout and they have now opened our recycling centres, we dont need it and I think with the amount of 'stuff' put out on drives I think much has been saved from landfill by this pandemic. Hasn't even involved getting it to a charity shop!
Goldie enjoy your weekend off, sorry someone will be on Aga duties, hope it's not too mucky ๐ฑ
Anyone any news of HelenandTrevor? Have I missed posts? I can't recall ready her news but I know she's a key worker so working but maybe exposed??

Whilst out yesterday I passed a speed cam, glanced at my speedo-33mph. I got home popped the SD card from my Dashcam, checked my speed-30mph so Iโve downloaded that 3min segment just in case. I love dashcams๐๐ป๐

Bakers2, she is indeed absolutely adorable so a great choice of name. You are going to have such a lot of fun and companionship from her. She sounds a lovely little dog. Keep the photos coming. I hope she is still settling in well. Did you manage to see your son as well? I hope your conservatory blinds are no finished.
We went over to wish our eldest grandson a socially distanced happy birthday for his 13th birthday yesterday. They live in a little fenland town about 12 miles away so it gave the car a bit of a run out as well. It was so lovely to see them all. We were very naughty and sat at a social distance in their garden for a while and had a chat. Jessie their dog was delighted to see us and sat between OH and I looking from one to the other and putting her front paw on us for attention. I had made them some cloth face masks and grandson put his on and said he was ready to rob a bank now! It was difficult to say good bye without giving them all a hug though. We have had some rain this morning but hardly enough to wet the paving slabs so no good for the garden unfortunately.
