Another very windy day (but only up to 45mph). No alarm set, but I still woke at the usual time of 05:00. So it was wonderful to turn over and go back to sleep. My Aga man (aka OH) has fixed the Aga and lit it. It will be up to a useable heat just in time to cook supper I hope. Meanwhile there’s more cheese in the fridge and even some leftover chicken.

Very windy day here too, anyone down in Lyme Bay will be getting sand in their eyes.
A few spots of rain, now gone. Waitrose delivery for us and neighbours sorted, seems to take ages wiping everything, re-bagging, sorting out substitutions, phoning neighbours up explaining what's changed etc.
Teaching daughter tells me they've no idea what's happening after the school holiday except they'll try and teach outside if there is a plan to get going again. A sure fire guarantee the dry weather will cease.

First time I read LOTR, was memorable. I was at PE College, otherwise known as Wentworth Woodhouse. We used the old libraries(there are four rooms😂) for study and revision. Being a book worm, I was utterly blown away that many of the old books were still there, supplemented by newer reading material that underpinned a lot of the second subjects. I picked up a bound copy of The Fellowship of the Ring, and was hooked immediately. Spent lots of the cold damp Winter hours up there, comfy in an old armchair. I read The Hobbit after.
Loved the films as well, thought Peter Jackson did an amazing job on putting them onscreen. We have all the special edition DVDs that have hours of extras about the cast, the sets, the filming, etc....Ever so interesting. The bit where they filmed up the snowy mountain in New Zealand, Sean Bean loathes flying, so instead of hopping into helicopter, he walked up in most of his make up and costume!

OH had read the Lord of the #Rings before I met him. I thought he was a bit weird
. He absolutely loves the books but hates the films. He went to a couple with our son and daughter but said he didn't want to see anymore as he thought they spoilt the books for him. I am afraid they are not my type of book at all.

Nor mine Millie. When we got our cat from the rspca the kennel girls said it was really hard finding names for so many animals. They sometimes went through alphabetically but in the latest admission the new cats and our "Rollo" had been given a star wars name (can't remember it now) I suppose if I'd been a fan I met have kept it but it didn't suit him at all.
It was nice to hear how Flyte got his name, it sounds just right for a spaniel.

Another wet miserable windy day here today so don’t think we will be venturing out. The weather was the same yesterday so in the afternoon we went a drive of about 20 mile round trip just to get out of the house that’s the most miles the Volvo has done for almost 2 months now so it was good to give it a run out hopefully won’t be long before it is in use regularly again and we can go further afield.
Bakers lovely pics of your new dog. We don’t have a dog ourselves but do dog sit my sisters little dog Chelsea on a regular basis.

Here(according to the police) it’s 10% +2. It could’ve changed but I’m ok at 30mph👍🏻

Ditto: loved the books and also loved the films (have those same directors cut dvds).; particularly as Sean Bean was in them. I always joke to my husband that I only went out on our first date because he bears more than a passing resemblance to Sean Bean😂
I love all different genres of literature but the books that captured me as a youngster were the fantasy ones by Tolkien, C. S Lewis, Alan Garner and Susan Cooper. I still re read them now😊

Despite not liking the books ir the films, OH loved the films, and still watches them with the DVD's.
On our first visit to NZ 2009 we visited Hobbiton, Matamata. Totally as it was left. We were amazed to be told that the trees were ?plum and should have been apple? So silk leaves were flown in from China and hand sewn onto the trees for authenticity and a large oak behind, not the party ground one, was discovered, nearby and shipped in for filming and it too had leaves stitched on as it was dead 😱.
Yes milliehull we did call in on our son to collect cage and other bits. We too sat in the garden for a cuppa and a stare with him. Hopefully my moderated post including the days events will appear in due course!
Glad you managed a stare with your family 😀.
I can't believe this puppy, long may it last!, but I fear OH activity levels may not increase as hoped photos of today's activities. Still no mess in her cage and goes out to wee and poo if the door is open!
Today's activity thus morning, lunchtime, turned breezy enough for a gust to upended her bed and toys in the garden so we all took shelter! So far it's only letting me add 1 photo! Bear with me

Dogs are the bees knees. Great photos Bakers. Showed Mrs WN and yep, she adored her.
Got to say she's settled in rather well. Not much anxiety there, is there?
Tootling along today in gusty winds. Apparently reached 70mph locally yesterday. Not surprised. Still windy today but sun now out again. Catching up with paperwork and sorting the filing cabinet out. A bit of shredding to do.
Our tip opens up on Tuesday but I'll leave it until the end of the week before we go. Brown bins collected Friday but that's it until further notice. We have enough to fill them both twice over so will take them to the tip on Friday probably.

Cheeky boy ABM. It's coming up fast isn't it? My dad was born on the longest day, 2nd born 2nd son, 1st son born on the shortest day. Nothing notable about the dates of the other 5 😉
Funny when I read your post I thought I know who else would have posted that but a few days/weeks ago!

We live in Flintshire and had our token collection of garden waste after about 8 weeks ....... supposedly to reduce demand when the recycling centres reopen on 26th May
. They are having a laugh. we have around 24 large garden refuge stacks stored out of the way and half a dozen bundles of prunings tied with cotton string. By the time that it is sensible to go to the recycle (after the initial rush) I expect that there will be around 40 bags.
Just about to start shredding papers here as well.

I do have to own up to it B2
.
I was thinking of Malcolm M when I thought about it - still concerned about him & his Lady and hoping all is going well for them and a few others -- like RubyTuesday for instance. All caught out by 'Lockdown' whether they could cope or not. Sad times all round, alas .

Another very windy but warm day. Took a ride into Newcastle then out along the wonderful Hadrian's cycle way on the north shore to Wylam and back along the southern shore then to Sunniside (which btw whenever I've been there never is) and home.
For anyone passing the Boatyard pub at Wylam they are doing a takeaway service with pints of beer being served in old plastic milk bottles.

Fitted mud flaps to my 2019 knaus sun ti front set Fiat Ducato purchased from germany ,fitted in 20 minuets well made good quality only time will tell how much they reduce splash along door bottoms and protect the motorhome body.
Also fitted rear mud flaps taken off my 2017 besseccar Caravan which had to be removed to fit motor movers , theses fitted to inner wings with very little alteration on the Knaus.
I will also need a 4ton skip after reconfiguring the garden, redecorated the whole house completely , filled all the log stores for winter ,painted shed and outdoor seating.
All this done since leaving Chatswoth cc site on 22 march.
We are all ready for the release day motorhome loaded cannot wait.
Stay safe see you soon Pete.

Great photos M, can’t say I’m familiar with the area so nice to have a local perspective.
Another bright sunny day here albeit windy but fortunately from the SW. Morning of pottering in the garden transplanting various seedlings.
Walked over to see brother this afternoon, had afternoon tea outside his MH, observing the distancing requirements. Worked out a better route which knocked off about a mile over last week so 9 miles there and back.

Having a break now, took the puppy dog out for a windy walk and that's it for the day.
Good to hear Dora is settling in B2, the dry weather is a help, we spent a lot of time outside earlier in the year when it wasn't quite so nice. Our little dog looks a bit more grown up now but she will always be smaller than our cat. (Who thinks she is some sort of weird kitten, so puts up with her climbing on him and disrupting his long snoozes. )
OH put a lot spare plants out on the driveway and they've all gone.

Very windy last night, didn't get a good sleep.
Wet and windy this morning and for most of the day, sun is put now though and the wind appears to be not so bad.
I got more requests for masks (24) from village folk, all made and some of them have been collected. More elastic on order and more requests for masks.
OH not done a lot today, he's having a day off. His hip seems to be a bit better.

Good to hear that OH's hip is feeling better, TG.
We've had it very windy for 2 days now and although it was supposed to decrease this evening it hasn't happened yet. Was dull today, but not too cold when we got out of the wind. Didn't do a lot spare from our walks with Flyte. Did notice that the wind had blown a fence covered in a rambling rose over and that had demolished a large part of the wall that the fence was attached to. Looks like an expensive repair job.
B2 OH loved the photos of Dora, and said that if we had a male one like that we would have to call him Aloysius, after Sebastian Flyte's teddy bear.

Still dry and windy,
wind speed should ease a bit overnight I hope. didn't get to take Bramble out today as the horse stable owners are refencing the paddocks.
Spent the afternoon pop-studding the new carpet down in the MH so it shouldn't move and be easy to take out if needed for cleaning/shampooing etc. I also did some touching up of the cab exterior, being an old girl she needs a bit of make up to hide the (rust) wrinkles) now and then. Also fitted a new fire alarm downstairs in the house.
I think we are going for a drive in the MH tomorrow (20 miles) to visit and catch up with my MUM from a distance, might put a smile on her face
