Sounds like you should have concealed it in a brown paper bag!!

IF we get the bread flour we ordered from Waitrose, we will no doubt end up giving some to DD as they have already used up a fair bit of the 3kg bag we took to them before lockdown, and OH has not seen any in the shops she has been to.....only Aldi and Lidl though.

We are however fully expecting that the flour will be unavailable, so will keep looking elsewhere.

I'm a bit blasé about post. It's nearly all automated stuff so as long as Postie has washed his hands....

Our Morrisons order arrived this afternoon. There were a few things missing but nothing too vital - well OH not happy that his oranges were unavailable but he has plenty of other fruit.  No bleach either.  I have one bottle in the cupboard so I will have to use it sparingly. The delivery driver was wonderful. Very helpful while keeping his distance.  Everything now washed down and put away. I also have another slot booked smile. We found 2 bags of SR flour, 1 of plain flour and 1 of bread flour when we were clearing the kitchen cupboards last week.smile

Thanks for the face mask link Bakers2.  I have had a look.  Aren't they pretty.  I only have old bed sheets and pillow cases so very boring.  I also have a pattern that I got from the internet using a sewing machine but like you I am enjoying being outside in the sunshine too much at the moment.  So will leave it a while. We are not going anywhere just yet anyway. Like you I have spent much of the day on the phone.  2 friends have birthdays today so lovely long phone calls with them and also grand-daughter. Great grandson is a bit unsettled these past few days.  I said look at his gums - yes they looked a bit red.  He is nearly 4 months so I think he might be teething.  Happy days (and nights) undecided

Milliehull it was Tammygirl who suggested that pattern, I had it saved and so just added the link for ease. Credit where it's due. 😉

Cant believe your great grandson is 4 months old, that's gone quick. Sadly not as many cuddles as youd have liked 😢 and they change so quickly - sometimes from one sleep to the next 😀. I expect your granddaughter is finding it tough with no one to help out with this self isolating, it will fall on just mum and dad.

Bakers2 she did say that they feel lucky that they are both at home with him at the moment as her OH has been furloughed (have I spelt that correctly 🤔).You have to look for the positives dont you. I do so miss seeing him and giving him cuddles though. ☹

Is anyone else looking forward to The Repair Shop followed by The Great British Sewing Bee on TV this evenimg? 😊

Had to get some new tyres for daughter's car so my walk was based around Concord. It is an amazing place where all the miners lived (F pit was about 5 minutes walk). It has within 100 yards no less than four pubs, two of the touching. Shame about the welcome notice though.

And the type of shop you might have thought had gone out of existence? It is still open out of lockdown.

The second photo was 'the' department store in its day.

Lovely day here again bit warmer today so made the most of it and spent the morning in the garden. Lots more clippings to be shredded, I cut 1 bush down by half and another gave it a very good hair cut laughing

OH washed the car surprised looked up the rules after Millie's post yesterday and it seems we are ok as long as its not on the road. Car washer's are open up here by the way.

Managed to catch a career going into one of our neighbours, showed her the face shields we have made, gave her one to show to her bosses and colleagues to see if they think they need/want some, she was very happy with it.smile

We have phoned round all the care homes in the area (lots of us on the phones) very few of them are suffering issues with PPE, most are saying they have plenty of what they need. Which is good to know but the complete opposite to what we are seeing on the TV.

Nice bike ride this afternoon, first for a week due to OH having a problem after our ride last week. Glad to say he is alright now.

I've had the sprinkler out on the garden this evening, once the sun went down, I don't think I've seen our garden so dry in all the years we have been here. The border I did this morning was like concrete it was so dry, hard to believe we had one of the wettest winters ever.

I must be a rare breed when it comes to flour, I have a 1lb bag of SR and the same of plain. They have been in my cupboard for at least a year, I just don't use flour. No bread to make, we hardly ever eat it. No cakes or baking anymore, used to make lots when the kids were young, we hardly ever eat stuff like that anymore. OH does like oatcakes though. Flour can be found in most shops here if you are out and about early enough wink

Another fine day and a bit warmer too, especially this afternoon, although there's some thin cloud this evening.  Was able to get about 2/3rds of the car waxed this afternoon, after having given it a quick wash this morning. Couldn't complete the job as the roof and panels on one side were too warm. We went to Home Bargains and Aldi this evening. No queue at either and we got just about all we wanted. There were even bottles of Adnams Southwold on sale in H B's at £1:06 each which I thought was a bargain. I can also recommend Sadler's Thin Ice which they had for £1.

Spent a while this evening looking for the Fly Past of low level wannabe satellites -- saw not a thing, not even a bat or two  frown - I think it was just a plot to get me out in some more fresh air  sealed

TG I had a look at the link that Bakers2 shared giving instructions for the no sew face masks.  I see they put a lining between the 2 layers.  What do you use as a lining?

We saw 2 x Satellites but didn’t see any meteors 💫

Another lovely day for pottering here, will go for our walk later this afternoon. The easterly wind has dropped to a slight breeze.

Looks like the young lady the police were looking for may have walked into the sea, the last cctv footage shows her crossing the beach, very sad.

looking a little less unruly this morning after OH's ministrations with scissors and clippers. She's departed now for Sainsburys clad in disposable gloves and face scarf. One never imagined that shopping would be like running the gauntlet.

Loving your photos Corners. Great idea to get out walking and taking in local areas with all the past on your doorstep. We often do it here. You might drop lucky if you go online, and find photos from the past. We sat up while 2am one morning poring over a wonderful archive someone had put online, thousands of photos, and all from the era we can remember. It’s amazing just how many changes have occurred in last few decades.

Excuse me answering someone else post Milliehull but for the face mask linings I’ve seen that people are using Hepa vacuum cleaner filters or filter coffee liners, cut to size.  Easy to remove for disposal and face mask washing but could get expensive I suppose.  I will have a go at making some soon, just in case we need them!

It will be interesting to see how much traffic is about TDA.

Daughter and partner driving up to Cumbria next week for funeral of partner's Grandfather. They can't stay anywhere so are camping in a farm outbuilding leant by a friend (no-one lives near.) Just hoping they don't get quizzed en route, all a bit upsetting. Their dog comes here, don't know whether to "rinse him off" first, we've agreed he runs up the driveway on his own as he always does and we clean off his lead etc. What a palaver! wink

I hope your daughter and partner have a safe journey, it should be a nice traffic free drive. I hope they don't get quizzed but I can understand why they may be stopped. They certainly seem to have made suitable arrangements and been very sensible. I hope the barn has basic facilities 😉 which might be a spade?

I'll be very interested in how to 'handle' the dog rinse off - for future reference 😉. 4 weeks today 😀. Just had conversation about choice in lock down. If we still can't travel son and DIL will collect and keep as he's furloughed. Part of my thinks a few extra weeks would mean slightly older puppy when she arrives with us! Must start thinking about requisites as they'll have to be bought online 😥😂.

There was a wonderful message on our local fb group from a neighbour who's husband set out from their house on his final journey yesterday afternoon. Neighbours lined the streets and bowed and waved, as he used to from his mobility scooter, as he passed. Just how it used to be! His widow very touched by it.

Assembled our bench this morning looking very nice 😀

Also checked out my 'material'bag and found more than I thought - we shall have decent face masks 🤣. I was wondering about lining and it appears I have so interfacing, could put that in loose?? Not too thick either. Interested to hear folks views - not going to do them until we need them or the weather changes! Also discovered an Advent calendar so another something to occupy my time and no pressure. Probably been there 6 years 😱 but definitely 3 years! It is one for us, I did granddaughter's ones as they arrived and one for a friends grandson - probably pushed for time each time!!,

Glorious here again today. I took myself out for a walk at 0715, first for 35 days! Disappointed at the lack of rainbows in windows but there were some. Nice ones on the pavements and hopscotch to 😀. Not got a rainbow in ours lack the wherewithal, but do have a teddy. Some nice Easter bunnies in windows too. I have 2 small blisters as a result of pampering my feet since lock down! Mind you had to pavement dodge as it got nearer 8am, might have to be earlier next time. Runners are the worse 🤐.

Daughter says they drop to level 3 next Tuesday in NZ, schools reopen, youngest one's kindy won't open and at the mo her school says she's not needed but will be reviewed. Pleased for them but apprehensive too!

    Stay safe
