What are you all up to

It's another lovely day here, so have been sitting outside catching up with posts, enjoyed reading what everyone has been up to. Everyone seems to be keeping busy.
We seem to be running out of jobs now, the ones left we can't seem to get the stuff needed. I don't think the house has ever been this clean
We only have a very small garden which doesn't need much upkeep, so not much to do there. I have enjoyed having the time to sit and watch the birds on the feeder, the blue tits are still popping in and out of the nest box so we are still hoping they may nest in it. Our hedgehogs are still about eating all the food, trouble is they are leaving lots of little deposits.
OH backed the MG out of the garage this morning, then asked if a trip out could be classed as essential!
He is now fitting a new aerial instead.
Everyone round our estate seems to be obeying the lockdown rules, and the park was very quiet yesterday early evening when we walked through, walked past Sainsbury's and it was very quiet so popped in as we had run out of coffee and were low on milk.
Chatted to our neighbour over the fence, he was furloughed from work when they closed the garden centre but they have asked him to go back to cope with online orders.
Just deciding whether to make a cake or some foccacia this afternoon.
Have also been writing questions for our family "zoom" quiz tomorrow subject this week is our home town, I've found out lots of things I didn't know about the town.
Take Care folks, stay safe.

Brue, the company I work for sometimes do bulk deliveries for Matthew's, may have to lose a bag " off the back of a lorry "

Can't claim it was my wording as Mrs WN said the exact same thing to me as we listened to the news.
Millie, I assume that the photo is from Peterborough Cathedral but I don't know.
Not many people out on our walk this morning. The garden has been refreshed by the rain so might be able to do some weeding in the front this afternoon.

Yes WN. I took it last summer when 'the earth' paid us a visit. I quite liked the position of the cross above the earth.
No rain here. We are now having to water the garden every evening..i cant believe how dry the groind is after all the incessant rain during the winter.

Same here Millie, I watered last night.

I blame it on the poplar tree opposite.

Well, week three of Lockdown complete! With a bit of good behaviour we might get out by July!!! I wonder if at the end of this we will have more sympathy for prisoners? It was three weeks ago yesterday that we collected the motorhome from it's service. Having had three food deliveries in the last three weeks with another one on this coming Tuesday I think we are stressing a bit less that we will run out of things. However despite being accepted by Waitrose as in their vulnerable group there doesn't seem to be much, if any availability of delivery slots, although Click and Collect seem OK, so we may have to resort to those if our son will collect for us, which I am sure he will. I don't know about anyone else but I find it difficult to get motivated to do jobs as there seems no hurry but that usually means maΓ±ana. However I did reinstall an outside light which was originally fixed to the old conservatory and is now in place above the kitchen window. I am even finding it difficult to read my motorhome magazines as I am questioning the point. We do have an exercise machine which we try to use on a regular basis in the hope of making up for not being out and about. Being the third house in on our little estate we are privy to all the comings and goings but even that can be boring as there is very little happening. Strangely there seems even fewer food deliveries than in the past. It looks as if one of our neighbours might be ill with the virus. Curtains drawn for a week and a garden seat across the front door. A young couple, probably very early forties with two children. We have seen the wife and two girls but not seen much of Mike the husband although he seems to have emerged in the last day or two. We were concerned but not really in a position to offer help. Fingers crossed that he is on the mend. Strange Times!

Been a lovely warm and sunny day so I went out and cleaned the caravan including the roof which hadnβt been done for over a year not as bad as I thought it would be. Thatβs it all cleaned now and back in itβs space ready for whenever we can get away again hopefully wonβt be long. Now just sitting out the back garden just fired the BBQ up steak burgers tonight looking forward to this night even open a beer. Hope everyone else is having a. Nice weekend too.

Lovely here too, a bit warm for a walk so will do an evening dog walk, hardly any walkers today. Maybe like me staying at home and doing nothing.
Ooh something a bit naughty, when holiday cottages prove to useful. OH nipped over the wall to the empty holiday cottage adjoining our garden, perfect forced rhubarb growing in a forcing pot
If Helen can get that flour I'll pass on some rhubarb. π±π

Park cycle ride for me, next to no one around today, so a lovely ride, if a touch round and round. Managed 6.5 miles, lots of up and down as well, so quite pleased. Itβs very, very quiet now each day round us.
Lunch in garden, inside to cool down, trying to do a Wentworth jigsaw, not easy, very irregular shaped pieces. Fighting Temeraire as well, so lots of blurry bits!π

Our Morrison order came last night - no fresh veg or salad stuff π₯Ί. SIL came to the rescue and did a quick trip to Aldi for us today and got everything we wanted apart from broccoli - there seems to be a countrywide shortage of broccoli at the moment. I gave the conservatory a good clean and sort out this morning and then we sat in the garden this afternoon. We are so lucky to have the garden. I really feel for people who live in flats with no outside space especially if they have children. A day off tomorrow as it is Easter Day. Oh hang on - I am not sure what I am having a day off from π€. Just watching Easter from Kings College Chapel.

Our next two orders are click and collect, the only way we could do it this time round. I think we could nearly survive with the farm shop delivery but not quite. Most of the winter broccoli is our standby veg, we haven't had any either Millie.

Well I am now feeling rather guilty as no cake made as I watched the National Theatre production of Jane Eyre online instead.
and sitting out in the garden.
Brue would gladly swop flour for some rhubarb .
Our Aldi had plenty of veg including Broccoli this week, the only thing I have struggled to find is paracetamol, our branch of Savers in town had some but they were restricting it to one packet each, only 16 tablets
Had a walk round the estate and back through the park this evening, not many people about although quite a lot of traffic, couldn't think where they were all going

As a matter of interest, CY, which wax are you using?

Iβve given up on trying to order online. Thankfully, we have a daughter that is willing to shop for us, and so far have been able to get most things, although βgreensβ seem to be relatively in short supply.
Been a lovely day here today, wall to wall sunshine, so was able to relax and enjoy all that I surveyed. That said, Iβm really missing the golf. For months I had to endure the wind and rain, and mud! Still, when/if we eventually get out of this situation, Iβm sure the course will look lovely.

Completed the painting of the front fence today and did a 5 ml walk this afternoon, Not many folks about apart from a family with a hoard of kids spread across the roadway which took a bit of manoeuvring to avoid, no sense of separation some people!π¬ Although it was warm for most of the day we could see that the Lakeland hill tops were under cloud at times and there was a mist coming in off the sea.

Meguiers Ultimate liquid Wax. Bit pricey and I'm not sure that it is any better than Mer, which I have used for years on boats, cars and vans. Mind you, this is an exercise that I only perform once a year, so the cost element is not that relevant.

Also watched Jane Eyre last night. I wasn't that keen on it, I'm not a fan of these minimal set productions, where you have to imagine everything. The acting was first rate though.
The veg shop in our village had reasonable stock. No Broccoli as he said the market price was ridiculous. Did have some very nice, if expensive, Asparagus from Norfolk. Well at least you expect that to be expensive.π He also had some nice rhubarb, we get some off our plant in the garden, but I really like rhubarb.
Used the BBQ for the first time yesterday evening. Fortunately I stocked up with Charcoal and lighters last Autumn, when Sainsburys were selling off BBQ stuff at half price. So should be OK for a while.
OH took part in the Churches virtual sunrise service, using the Zoom App, on her iPad this morning. I hadn't quite got the privacy settings right so they could not hear her to start with. I didn't feel too bad though, as apparently the local IT whiz had made the same mistake. I blame the App,π normally when you set one up it takes you through all that, if required.

Managed to get 2 tubs of Ronseal dark oak from B&M yesterday (very impressed with staff sanitizing baskets and keeping shoppers apart in store). I also stocked up on cat food which was on offer, so a successful trip.
However, it's b****y freezing up here today so looks as though the fence will have to wait. Think it will be a day in front of the tv....

Still warm here, had one of those shouty outdoor conversations with a neighbour, the type that can be heard by everyone so that's kept a few ears exercised.
Another neighbour sent us a WhatsApp Easter Greetings with a photo of their simnel cake tastefully arranged in the garden...we can't send one back because we've eaten half of ours already
but OH asked how he'd managed to grow it?

We used our BBQ last night too Steve. Thatβs when it really begins to feel like spring when you can sit out the back garden with the steak cooking nicely. We did actually use the Cadac when we were away in the van a few weeks ago before lockdown. Another nice day here today so I am going to go out and give my bike a good clean itβs been getting used a lot over the past few weeks so time to clean it properly.
Happy Easter to all

Nice stroll this morning around different lanes. Saw our first Swallows of the year at 3 different farms so looks like the recent warm weather from the South has helped them. It was warm enough to be walking around in shirt sleeves and a light Gilet. You can keep the brassic stuff thebells.
We saw more couples walking this morning than cars, as it should be especially today as there are no shops open.

Happy Easter To All π£
Its another beautiful day here, we have been sitting in the garden watching the blue tits going in and out of the nest box, it's looking hopeful they will nest in there forthe first time.
Steve although it was different I did enjoy Jane Eyre, I too thought the acting was excellent.
OH has been standing on the garage roof cleaning the car port roof off, he too has had some shouty conversations with our neighbours from up there.π
I have made my cake just deciding what sort of icing to use.
Very envious of the Bbq's ours is still in the caravan locked in storage, π₯
We too have seen lots more people out walking, mostly people who we have never seen out before. Many walk up the alley by us then continue up the street then realise they can't get out at the to and have to walk back down. π

Hi Cyber and thank you!
I have been trying to remember the brand of tyre treatment recommended by a local body repair place and you have supplied the answer.
Now I have something else to do over the next.....................well who knows how long.
Not bought any MER since I bought some after seeing a demo at the Royal Cornwall show many many years ago.

Lovely day, yesterday and we had a BBQ as well. Glorious again, this morning and I've managed to clean the caravan, including the roof and then did some polishing. Half way through, the weather changed and it's now decidedly nippy. So that was a good excuse to stop and leave the rest for tomorrow!

Beautiful day here in Herne Bay, public quieter than usual ,but still too close together & NO MASKS !! More Police & Coastguard presence though !! .Just heard the mid-day news, Britain looks like being on track for a VERY HIGH result of the pandemic !! !!

Walking across the fields with the dogs this morning I noticed how quickly the bluebells are starting to poke their heads through the hedgerows. My favourite time of the year, a sign of better days to come and a reminder of better days past.
The first picture is near one of our all time favourite CLs and the second from one of our favourite local walks when in Cornwall.
