Picked up the motorhome from its first service today, a week late! They had to order some parts, just as well they were changed under warranty otherwise it would have been a very expensive service! No physical contact during the handover. I paid by phone yesterday and Paul, the service guy, put the paperwork and keys in the cab for us and I left the keys in the loan car. We have all the stuff that goes in the motorhome in the back bedroom but I think we will wait a few days before rushing to reload.

I don't normally dream, or should say that I don't remember anything of any dreams that I have. Mrs. WN remembers every single detail but that's by and by. Last night, however, I woke up in a cold sweat having had a dream of Mrs WN going into a Sainsburys store (not one of our usual or easily found supermarkets so don't know why they were picked) and the place was packed to the rafters but every single one of them was dressed as Death with his sickle and red hoodie. See what these mass stock pilers are doing to me.

At this moment in time she is the one who goes into the shops and does any shopping as the only normal one amongst us (no sniggering please). I could have had a nice conversation with DSB on here seeing as were both awake for a while.
Back in the real world, the inside of the caravan has been cleaned, 3 lots of clothes washing done and dried in the fresh breeze and a bit of gardening done. Loads more to do in there for which I have been allocated tasks that doesn't involve pulling up healthy plants that only look like weeds.

Didn't get my lie in as planned, next door decided we needed to be up at 6.20 am
bang went the back door as he left for work, he is usually the quiet one. Then she decided the dog needed to be let out bang ! 10 mins later its time to come in bang! OK, OK we will get up
Up side is we were at Aldi by 8.15 few golk there but managed to get almost everything I needed. Lots of fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat and fish, the only thing I didn't get was baked beans, not desperate for them so they can wait. Drove down to Asda picked up a few other bits that Aldi don't do, job done

Went round to see big sis and BIL, he didn't get his last chemo yesterday as they cancelled it, seemingly his levels are good and they worried that if he had chemo it could make his immune system very low again for the next 2 weeks. As they think that the next 2 weeks is going to be critical with Coronavirus he is better off not having the last session. He says he feels fine, he looks well to, if a little sparse on the old hair
their kitchen fitter isn't sure if he wil be able to do the job starting Monday now, as he is having trouble getting the fitments. The old kitchen is all but gone as they stripped it out in prep hoping to speed things up. They still have the hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and washer so can manage for the time being. Lovely sunny day, blue skies to, if it wasn't for the drop of 20c I could be fooled into thinking I was still on hols

Lots of folk still out and about here
can hear kids playing outside somewhere. Number of cases in this area of scotland gone up from 20 to 27.Stay safe everyone I think its going to take awhile.

TAKE GREAT CARE -- Don't Get Scammed !!

2 flyers being posted by company on behalf of a food bank in local town asking for donations, that they will collect in a couple of hours, just leave outside but of course nothing arrives at food bank
the low lifes are getting more active, as they know a lot of people are at home

Somebody told us that there was a queue outside the Tesco Extra store in Broughton near Chester at 5.00 am this morning! Bring back Christmas. It's less busy.
Edit - Welcome home Tammy. Glad you made it. The travel industry does ask that you refrain from further holidays this year as they can't stand the strain.

Just another thought about home deliveries as we have two sets of older neighbours with no transport and one of them asked me about our milk delivery. We use Milk and More, our milk arrives in returnable glass bottles three times a week and we could order other things if needed. Apparently the company have been on overload with potential new customers but it's another way to get food to your doorstep if needed. We've used them for over twenty years and even in heavy snow we've always had our milk.

I’m pleased you made it back ok TG 👍
I’ve decided to take the plunge and have today ordered the timber for the raised beds, it wasn’t cheap ☹️ It should be delivered a week next Tuesday, which will give me time to clear the area. Also ordered a tray (plugs) of 42 Fuchsias (Pink Marshmallow). Time to start consulting the seed catalogues 🙂
Keep washing those hands folks 👍

Since my last post things have changed significantly. I will now be working from home two days a week and working in the office two days. I was sent home today with a laptop (our I.T. Department have made 70 laptops in two days). I’m looking forward to working from home, as I intend to set my “office” up in the conservatory, overlooking the great tits nesting in the bird box and the fish and frogs in the pond. A much nicer view than my normal outlook at work!
Tammygirl glad you’re back home safely and stocked up.Take care all and look after yourselves.

Apparently there were 100 people in a queue at Tesco near us in front of our cleaner at 0545 😱. Cant imagine where folk are storing it all. She said it was like supermarket sweep with folks running with their trollies. Off their trollies more, like if it wasnt so serious!
We've had a slob day 🤐 only vare essentials done. Including arranging flowers from son, he's not coming this weekend 😢, the ones that can be posted through your letter box - but they didn't 😂. Still OH had chat with our lovely, this end of the week, post lady - at a sensible distance. Jury is out on quality etc, but it's the thought that counts. Card enclosed, there are 2 envelopes awaiting Sunday had some nice words from him !
Before the latest announcements had an email to say our council run leisure centres will not reopen after closing tonight and another from our museum to say they are not opening after they close tonight. Shame they've just opened a new exhibition for the centenary of wireless, one of our city's claim to fame 😀. I should have gone earlier in the week instead of 'hunter gathering' so we can isolate for at least a week!
Good you got home safely Tammygirl, do you not have to self isolate?
Wherenext I never remember dreams, OH reckons he doesn't! Yours sounds horrible. I had a dream a couple of weeks ago, woke me up, went back to sleep it resumed, got up and used the bathroom and still went back to it. It had something to do with kidnapping or similar of granddaughter but couldnt really recall it when I awoke. Now it's even harder - mind you I'm delighted not to now 😉

Day in garden for me. Day started sadly as well, Mum’s last friend passed away this morning. They were very close, she was much loved by us all.😢

Sad news Ttda. Will your mum be going to the funeral or will you advise against?
MiL recently lost an old friend but decided against going as there was supposedly going to be hundreds at the funeral. Not sure what the situation is in these strange times.

So sorry to hear the sad news of your Mum's friend TDA..I have heard that they are severly limiting the numbet of people allowed to attend funerals. I also had some sad news. One of my cousins died this morning. She had been lll with cancer for some years. She was 20 years younger than me and not only my cousin but also my god-daughter. Her husband has said her funeral will be just him and their 2 girls. He is hoping to organise a celebration of her life sometime in the future..difficult times.

Sorry to hear your news, tda. I'm sure that your mum would want to go to the funeral but with the situation at the moment perhaps not attending would be a better option for her.
Sorry to hear of your cousin too, millie. There will be other ways to pay your respects than attending the funeral, I'm sure.

Glad to hear that you & OH made it home safe and sound, TG.
WN, I would guess that the dreams are a delayed reaction to all the bottles of beer you've drank this week and withdrawal systems kicking early from the thought of not being able to get away for heavens know how long in the van.

Another fine sunny day and we had to go to town!!
A visit to the hair dressers for OH, collecting prescriptions and shopping. Home Bargains and Tesco had been hammered, including the wine and beer shelves, but B&M and Aldi had nearly full shelves. Guess that it's a restocking issue and the latter two have a better supply system at the moment. OH managed another 3 washer loads, all dried outside, and I spent the afternoon cleaning the car.1 -
We haven’t told Mum, she’s not in a good place at the moment, so being very careful how much we tell her about what’s going on out in the big wide world, need to lower her anxiety levels. She can’t go to the funeral anyway, we shall break it to her at a much later date. Friend’s family know how much we care. We shall pay our respects privately at some point. These are very difficult times for those in very old age, not able to fully understand what is going on, out of their comfort routines.
Sorry to hear about your cousin Millie, she must have gone at a relatively early age, very difficult.

TDA. Sad news for you and Millie too.
It's similar were we are for funerals and also the more happy events like weddings.
I'd sent off some early flowers to our eldest daughter for her 50th as they should have been flying out to Jamaica next week to celebrate. Special time booked off work etc, now the catering company which employs her (Agricultural College based) is in difficulties, no students and jobs on the line. So not a lot to celebrate. Very tough times for a lot of people. Hope all your families get through this unscathed.
The weekend ahead looks better weatherwise, I'll have to decide which way to walk from the gate tomorrow!
I hear Goldie is off on a holiday nearer to home...have a good time. 🏝

Thanks all for your welcome back words. Its good to be back.
Bakers2, we are not self isolating but we are being careful, to be honest there are more cases here than on Lanzarote. The 2 cases they had were at the other end of the island to us and we were on lockdown just after they were known.
WN, I think I will give up on holidays for a couple of months its to stressful
TDA, Millie, so sorry to hear your sad news.

Last day at DD's and seeing Callum for at least a couple of weeks.

Picked up some packs of nappies for him at our Aldi as their's had none, and took them a tin of yeast and some paracetamol as they could not find any.
Tidied my tools and brought home what I could, finished a few jobs, including unblocking their shower drain, which took 2 doses of the strongest Mr Muscle gel, even after fishing out a big plug of hair!
DD took Callum out for a walk and called in at her local M&S, where she found plenty of food, but no hand wash or toilet rolls (not that she wanted any), so we dropped in about 90 minutes later on our way home to get something for dinner, by which time there were a lot of empty shelves.
SIL is on a rota for going into school to supervise the children of key workers, twice a week I think, otherwise he will be setting and marking work on line. DD will work when SIL can look after Callum, and when Callum has his midday nap, and after he has gone to bed, so between them they have the childcare and the jobs covered meantime.
We and the other grandparents are supposed to be having no contact, staying home now for at least 2 weeks, but I cannot really see that working out.
SIL came home and announced that he had a sore throat, and had a coughing fit in the car on the way, maybe he should not go over to his parents house? What happened to no contact? He rang his Dad and he said "it's ok, just come over" . They are obviously not taking this seriously! Have not heard whether he actually went or not.
As he will be in contact with the other teachers, and the children, when he goes into school, he should certainly be staying away from other people as far as possible, especially his parents.

Just received this from an ex army colleague:
The repair man from a local independent family business selling and distributing domestic appliances who came to check our oven said the company had sold 780 freezers this week without even touching them. They were delivered from a major distribution centre directly to the customer and this morning only they had had so far 80 phone enquiries. They could only get another 48 because the centre had run out.

For generally healthy folk this news is bad but for those suffering ill health it is frightening. I talked to a young Mum in Asda who was near frantic. She has the worry of empty shelves & the corona virus to contend with & the effect all this has on her few month old child. The selfish acts of the few is frightening. I now realise was what the Govt meant by ‘country is moving to a war footing’ these hoarders are actually responsible for the shortages. They need to be shunned after being outed as acting criminally.

Rocky I had a Whats Apo phone call with grand,-daughter the other day and she is having difficulty getting formula milk for our 2 month old great grandson. Apparantly people are buying it if they cant get fresh milk. How selfish can people get. Her MIL is going from shop to shop and buying it for her when she can. Apparently when she was in one supermarket she saw a woman with 6 large chicken joints in her trolley.
I agree with you KjN your SIL should keep away from his parents. We are resigned to not seeing our family for the forseeable future. Thank goodness for WhatsApp. At least we can see and speak to them that way.

I think our hearts went out to that poor nurse sobbing in her car when she been unable to buy food at the end of her shift.
I've witnessed arguments at checkouts and some shameful behaviour.

I think the retailers have been on a money making binge with customers and I'm hoping they will now start thinking about the whole scenario. I see they are reducing their product lines and rationing some. Just hope they get a grip on the situation.
That said OH did his usual early shop at a local co-op today, not much left but he managed to get a small loaf for our elderly neighbors but no potatoes for them. We got some tea etc for ourselves and I'm hoping our Morrison's order is OK at the end of the week.
I'm still using up frozen roast tomatoes from our greenhouse last year. Freezers have their uses but let's hope they don't break down! 🍦

I felt just the same about the frontline medic in London this morning saying they didn't have the protective clothing needed. If thirteen doctors have died in Italy it's very frightening for them all.
Sorry must try to be more upbeat! Think my porridge supply is running out...

I've been wondering the same. Son is at York University and he said its still quite bad down there......its actually almost biblical with the floods, now the 'pestilence'. ...I'm just waiting for the locusts next (although the current selfish stockpilers fit the bill)
