Hope there would be Goldie, but I’d be taking emergency supplies just in case!

If we need sustenance when we get home, there’s always turkey sandwiches and Christmas cake.

Sound like a lovely occasion Moulsey.  Perhaps I ought to suggest that as an addition to our Christmas services here.

Whenever anyone mentions Truro Cathedral, I alway think of Philip Stopford who used to be organist there.  He's now in the US, but his Christmas Blessing sung by Truro Cathedral  Choir is still one of my favourites....

No need for the turkey sandwiches - enough substantial nibble to soak up the copious drink. A lovely evening in a 15th  century manor house.

A 15th century Manor House sounds wonderful. Glad the turkey sandwiches weren’t needed.
Our last day here today as I’m in work on New Years Eve. (There won’t be much work going on😊). Planning a pub lunch which will inevitably lead to another book reading (snoozy 😉) afternoon.

And ADD46, hope you've had a good break too.

Glad you enjoyed your evening out Goldie.

Hoping to plan a day out again, now we know we can't get through some of the flooded areas I think we'll head off to higher ground.. smile

Had a lovely day out yesterday we went a drive up to Loch Lomond with my sister and family. Poured most of the day but it was nice to get out and we even managed a quick walk along the banks of the loch. Went in to The Queen of the Loch pub for lunch one of our favourites and as always it was excellent. Nothing planned for this week hoping to get the car cleaned out and may give the inside of the caravan an early spring clean too. Glad to read everyone seemed to have a nice Christmas

Had a nice, Quiet (!) Christmas, even went to Niece's "At Home To Inspect The New Born " do yesterday, 5 week old Cody Arthur was setting a fine standard for all the others to emulate  smile Had his meals as and when offered with only the occasional little burp!! The other kiddies took their cue and behaved, in the company of lots of adult strangers, like little angels -- played quietly together with not even the slightest sign of fractiousness. Must have been the season of Good Will or something  undecided.  Even the two dogs Tilly Whippet and Bonny Staffie were getting on beautifully..

So Brian is hoping that Everybody on here had at least as pleasant a day as we all had !!  Indeed I won't even be overly distressed if The Mighty Crewe Alex  only win by two clear goals this afternoon innocentcool.

Enjoy yourselves please & travel safely smilelaughing

My lurgy is mutating.......now have an awful cough, but am up on two feet most of time and doing a few chores. OH is same, so at least we are having a sharing, caring Christmas! 😂

We appear to have enough, biscuits, treats and preserves to last us through this year, all date coded and stored for treats while away. Caught up with family by text and phone, everyone ok, doing their own thing or back at work (😱)

    🤧

Been hibernating a bit as Ttda's cold has mutated all the way to North Wales. Thanks. Feeling miles better today though so a good walk this morning certainly gave the catarrh a good stirring. How much of this stuff can the body hold??? 😷

Your Christmas sounds just about perfect Millie. Hard to think it could get any better.

Following my recent colonoscopy, I got the ‘all clear’ yesterday. For some reason, I’m susceptible to polyps, so always a worry. Anyway, that’s it for another year, phew...

Pleased to hear your news, Freddy -- I had seven years of bore & rebore but they came at six monthly intervals so I got regular days out frown.

The two cataract operations were always my fave 'cos tho' you cannot speak, cough or anything while they are operating  BUT  they give you a lovely nursing sister to hold your hand !!. Just squeeze if the need takes you and then the surgeon stops ! I did try winking once but that was using the eye on the wrong side  yell.  Some days are pure  ***** ***** ***** !!

“regular” being the operative word! laughing I have to say, the nurses were fantastic. Reassuring, caring and responsive, just brilliant.

All the family departed yesterday so now very quiet in the house.

Bright sunny day here with a top temperature of 10C.  Went for a walk around SWT Carlton Marshes. Great walk but couldn’t complete the circular walk due to deep mud.   The remodelling of the new land is mainly completed.  3 new hides will be opened in the spring and the new super duper reception building will open in June 20.

What was the very recent  over-night record temperature in Northern Scotland --  I'm trying to recall accurately but, for some strange reason, I've got 18*C at 03:00 stuck in my mind undecided -  You'd need to have a rucksac there Oneputt,  just to carry the sweaters etcetera in  surprised  !!

It was jolly cold here last night. When our family got ready to leave ours about 10.30 last night they discovered that their windscreens had iced over ❄ so a scramble for de-icers and windscreen scrapers.

Volunteered to go to Clarks Outlet to exchange a thermal vest for someone in the family, was everyone doing the same, it was very busy there!! No thermals needed as it's been sunny. Return journey saw lots of flood water on the levels, many fields under water, just hope it stays dry.

Trying to help eldest daughter long distance with Aunt in hospital, if only a third party bank form had been signed earlier things might have been easier. An awful lot to sort out, bills to be paid etc.

Good to hear, Freddy. Hope that it continues clear for 2020.

Sorry to hear that you too have caught the lurgy, WN, but pleased to hear that you are feeling better, and managed to get out for a decent walk.

Glad that the holiday went well, millie and that you had a grand time over in Ireland.

Hope that you too are feeling somewhat better, tda, but please keep cough over your side of the Pennines.

Weather's been reasonable, damp but no rain until late today, so we've managed plenty of dry walks from home. Things are getting a bit boring now, but the holiday period is nearly over so the sun's sure to come out, and we'll get over to the beach, on the bus, for a walk or two.

A nice stroll in the sun yesterday left me a little out of breath but it was worth it.

Some food shopping this morning then shinned up a ladder to put some sealant on a crack in the roof that is leaking rain down the side of the house. Yes, I was allowed near a ladder again.

Whilst writing I would like to thank you all for your posts this year and to wish you good health and happiness for the forthcoming year. Let's hope it's a year to remember for all the right reasons.

Was frosty here this morning after a fairly mild few days. It brightened up a bit later on so I took the opportunity to clean the car out for it all hoovered and the cleaned the dashboard with cleaner ect so looking a lot better now. Was a bit cold to wash the outside so will keep that for another day when it isn’t so cold.

After a frosty night we had a beautiful sunny day, only the second like that since we came home early. A couple more walks and another trip down to town on the bus this afternoon to restock on food. This has to be a frequent occurrence at the moment as we can only carry so much between us.

To all on CT I wish you the very best for 2020. Hope that you all have a healthy & successful year whether touring or not.
