Just opened today's mail and it's my 20th year membership sticker from the club signed by (St) Nick himself
Surely the first and best present this Christmas.
Merry Christmas to one and all.

TG. Goodness what an emotional and roller coaster week for you and your OH. So very sad about his brother but lovely that he and his mother are back in touch. It must be emotional for you to visit his mother where your Mum used to live though.
WN. Gosh the medical profession can be insensitive at times! It must have been a shock to get an appointment for the cancer clinic with no prior explanation. I am glad things have now been better explained to you. Best of luck for a good outcome.
Nellie I am glad your appointment went well. I hope you enjoy your alternative Christmas.
Bakers2 I hope you have a lovely Christmas and hope also that 2020 is a much better year for you and your OH.
Both us and the Christmas presents arrived safely in NI although eldest son omitted to mention that although the gifts he asked us to bring over were 'quite small' they were also 'quite heavy' !!. Preparations are well underway here with enough food and drink to last for months and the grandchildren's excitement is reaching fever pitch 😁.
Have a wonderful Christmas everyone 🎄🎁

What a wonderful turnout for your carol services CY. Wouldn't it be lovely if some of the Christmas congregations also visited more often throughout the year 😉

Christmas has started at Sandringham - and the Wardens have done a fantastic job with the decorations. Santa’s sleigh was out collecting the rubbish, this afternoon.
Merry Christmas to you all from
Richard and Ros (and big licks from Meg!)

I echo that sentiment, and it bring to mind one occasion when one older parishioner was moaning to the priest at the time that midnight mass was so full and even worse full of people who didn't attend throughout the year. He replied that it would probably be like that in heaven

Great to hear and good pic, btw I'm sure there are reindeer in that forest there?

MiL being a real Grinch today. Moaning about almost everything, from the care of Prince Philip to Raymond Briggs and the Snowman. So if anyone wants a real live 86 year old Grinch for the day tomorrow just to add that authentic touch to the day then please note that I am willing to double whatever price you were going to ask from me to have her.
Other than that Merry Christmas to one and all. Special mention to those who have lost loved ones this year or who have had a difficult time of it for whatever reason.
To the rest of you, thank you for your posts. Kept me sane (i think).

Hit her with the sherry WN (the booze, not the bottle) couple of glasses and sit her down in front of TV....Zzzzzzzzz! 😴
Failing that Diazepam is useful! (helpful hints@lovingchildren.com)🤣 But don’t mix them😱🤪
OH is wrestling with the Dyson, I am about to peel sprouts! AC/DC are helping out, we dance while we chore!🥳

Thanks Millie, ADD, Bakers, WN it was a bit of a roller-coaster but I think it will all settle down a bit in the next few weeks. Going back to the care home was strange but the staff there are so lovely and made such a fuss when we arrived, they were tickled pink when they realised that OH's Mum is now in their care.
WN, I can only echo Millies and Bakers comments, the medical profession at times needs to stand back and take a good look at some of their practices. Glad that the news isn't as bad as feared.
Millie have a great time with the family in NI
Bakers, hears hoping 2020 is a better year.
R&R have a great time at Sandringham, we liked it there and will be going back, there is so much to do in the area.
A very Merry Christmas to one and all.

My dear Ttda, she doesn't "do" Sherry but currently has a glass of Champers and Cassis (Kir Royale) in front of her. Plus Champers bottle heavier than a Sherry one if alcohol doesn't work.

Merry Christmas to all posters here. 🍷🎄
We celebrated OH birthday by meeting family for breakfast at a local restaurant. Nice to see other families had had the same idea. Parents probably not wanting to cook both days with people visiting.
Then we spent the afternoon researching cl’s in the Grimsby area, as I have bought OH some tickets to see The Hairy Bikers on tour next year.1 -
The wardens have pulled the stops out here with the site decorations, as have numerous members with their LVs very pretty, and this evening a wonderfull buffet laid on by the site staff with carols from the local church choir well done to them all

I have just delivered and collected presents from/ to Mum and Sis. Spotted a sneaky bottle of Warninks hidden away. It’s considered Christmas medicine in our family, had to hide the bottle last year!
We are all together tomorrow for dinner, which is an alcohol free meal, but we like the odd tipple in the evening. It’s the only time I drink now. I like the hard stuff though, particularly stuff like Drambuie, Cointreau, Pernod, Jack Daniels🤪

Grand to hear your good news from the scan, WN.
What an interesting post TG, and good to hear that OH and his mother and family are getting on well now.
To all of those that have a difficult year this year I hope that the next one is a much better.
A belated happy birthday to your OH ADD, it sounds as if you had a grand day yesterday.
To those that are away in their units have a super site on your respective sites. I'm jealous!!
Hope that the weather is kind to you all.
A Jolly, Merry Christmas to one and all.

Very tasty lunch at DD's house today, cooked by OH. Far too much food as usual, so we have brought home leftovers to freeze for another day.
Little Callum was tucking in, but his older cousins ate hardly anything, they are very fussy eaters for some reason, their parents were not pleased that they refused most things!
This evening we are completing our tasks for lunch tomorrow at DS's house.....fruit salad , regular salad and prawns in seafood sauce now prepared as we will need a fairly early (for us) start to be there by midday.
DS is doing the cooking, DIL has made Pavlova for dessert and done all the dusting and hoovering so is having a well deserved day off tomorrow.

Well , here we are ,nearly at the end of the year ,it’s been a strange year , we only managed to get away once in the M/H due to my Mum being in and out hospital all summer and my wife waiting for her hip operation (which was done in November) ,and trying to sell my shop , which twice we were let down ,but in October we finally sold it so now retired (and enjoying it) , in August I was diagnosed with diabetes, but after a lifestyle and diet change (lost 2.5 stone ) and retested earlier in the month I am now in remission. ( oh ,I do miss chocolate) We are now hoping next year will be a hospital free year and will be able to get out more .
As far as my CT family goes , overall we’ve had a good year ,it’s good that we can share our thoughts and offer help when things have not gone well , and yes some times we disagree ,but like most family’s it’s only short lived and we’re back talking again
Have a good time everyone and good travelling for next year

Do you think they actually go to sleep?
Just waiting to take the Turkey crowns out of the oven. I do 2 of them. One for today and one for cold buffet tomorrow. Only small ones I hasten to add. Time to turn the oven up for Roasties.
Hope everyone's day went well.

Fine dry day at home so have managed all our walks out so far without getting wet, for a change. The fog has come in now so it may be a bit damp for our last walk later. A restful afternoon with a couple of phone conversations with son, & daughter and grandson. All being well we may get a couple of visitors on Friday, it will be great to see Jake again as it's been a while since we've met up with him working in London.
Hope all have had a good day, are now replete and enjoying a quiet drink or two.
