I'm I reading this right? From the Clubs email to Vivien - if you book a five night stay three months in advance (possibly as part of a longer well planned trip around Britian) Then someone books a 10 night stay a week before the break. If then a few pitches
become unavailable it will be the first person to book who's holiday would be cancelled as this would mean more revenue for the CC. That's appalling! Who the hell is running this business. If a cancellation has to be made then it should be the last person
to book, regardless. So revenue comes before customer goodwill does it.

I am a little puzzled about thsi booking.  If you go online and try and book on a site that is already full, the system will not allow you to book.  The only way around this is to phone the club or the warden and that individual then makes a decision.  In
this case they clearly discriminated against a person who is single and that is grossly unfair!

They are a business and as such need to be commercially viable. But this seems like a short term gain which may turn into a long term loss if members do not like the way they operate.

I am awaiting a phone call from Mr Horton, CCHQ. I am far from happy with his last reply, we will see what the outcome is when it happens.

..I suggest "if" Mr Horton phones you advise him to put it all in writing and if possible record the call

    Viv,

If I have read the booking terms and conditions correctly once you have booked you have a contract with CC Ltd.

The terms do allow for them to cancel the booking but only where the cause is beyond their reasonable control.

It would appear that the reason you were given was well within their control and they therefore had no grounds for cancellation.

It would therefore seem that they are in breach of contract and not only do you have good grounds for complaint you also have good grounds for claiming and receiving compensation.

My email address is on my profile.

    PS

Within the terms there is no mention of  "Further consideration is also given to duration of stay and the knock-on effect of surrounding bookings whilst seeking the least disruptive approach toward maintaining full site occupancy, for
the benefit of the wider membership, whilst affecting as few individual members as possible."
    That is just rubbish.

...Deleted UserUser is absolutely correct.  They phrase they use "least disruptive approach toward maintaining full site occupancy, for the benefit of the wider membership, whilst affecting as few individual members as possible." is the key.

We all pay the same membership.  However many people we choose to join us on holiday is irrelevant subject to maximum pitch occupancy.

I suggest you contact the Citizen's Advice Bureau.  They offer a free half hour legal advice for anyone needing it.  If they confirm the Club have been in breach of contract and you can follow it up you would be doing us all a favour.

An interesting postscript to this thread it the news that Vivien is now in receipt of a three month suspension from CT, which subsequently damages her ability to contact her Solos or post the Diary updates. Since we are both members of the Facebook CT group, I have agreed to post any updates she requires to the Solos thread.

I have kept up with most of this post, and find it difficult to believe this outcome.

Vivien was the aggrieved party and quite correctly went to a lot of trouble to complain and discover why. She obviously upset someone along the way.

Vivien supended? From the posts I read, admittidly not all of them I did not notice Vivien being abusive or insulting to anyone. We all see some quite insulting posts on here from time to time but no one else ever seems to be suspended.

You couldn't make this travesty up. Good on you FD for keeping things rolling for Solo's. I am so glad we use little of the Club beyond the wonderful CL network. So many reasons not to renew our membership!

My "Bring Back Vivien" thread has already been suspended after less than 30 minutes. I'm beginning to wonder if the CC is getting like a "big brother is watching you" state

They didn't like what they read - suspend!

How dare anyone question why the CC do anything.  Wait until the travesty at 8pm tonight on BBC2.  More embarrassing moments from the so called chairman. Notice he hasn't been suspended.

MF, two of three others spring readily to mind.

There's clearly a lot more to this than we know about. We are speculating and will probably never know the full story.

We are highly unlikely to hear the Club's side.  Possibly a Freedom of Information request.

I think FoI applies to Govt Depts and public bodies. Of course, CC, won't say what's happened. If it was you or I we wouldn't appreciate CC broadcasting our stories. CC will want to retain some semblance of credibility and businesslike behaviour - if they
    still have any left.

If CC won't say what has happened, the rule of law applies-innocent till proven guilty. I see or know of no guilt, so She's innocent. She is being hounded for standing up for Herself, silenced to save the CC embarrassment. If I'm proven wrong I will withdraw
my support, until then my support is solid. FD, well done for stepping up to the plate-you're a starHappy

We are due to go to Chirk CC Site on Monday but never in the 34 years that, we have been caravaning have I, been so concerned that we could get bumped off the site or any other CC site  come to think. I intend to contact Head Office tomorrow and seek clarification.

I'm afraid I cannot clarify really, I've spoken to Vivien on facebook and seen the suspension notice which seems pretty standard to me, Vivien was under the impression it was because of something she said about the TV programme, but the wording as to reasons
for suspension includes the word 'incitement' as a clue I think. Personally, I just don't want her Solos group to suffer from this.

I emailed th club to ask if a booking is guaranteed or is it liable to be cancelled for a better offer, still waiting for a proper reply. Interesting to see if I rang the booking office to say I wanted to stay for 10 days on a site but the weekend full would
they chuck somebody off so I could stay.
