A club (did I have to say it was a club site?) site in Scotland, where they tested the Mulberry harbours

Thank you for starting this thread David, I've found it fascinating and a useful distraction from all the current 'gloom and doom'  People's photos and knowledge is simply astonishing and for me, makes the membership all the more worthwhile. (NB this is NOT an invitation for further comments re membership!) A brilliant thread, long may it continue.

My contributions are probably known to a few of you:

Did the same trip in 1979. Fantastic experience, stayed on the campsite at RAF Gatow as I was in the RAF at the time. Also did the East Berlin trip while we were there but had to wear full uniform for that one.

This mill is in a small town not far from one of the club sites, sells bread flour...if only I could get some! And also has a good café. smile

It does look like Alford near the Sutton on Sea site.

Yes, you're right! Also as TW says it's not far from the Sutton on Sea site. smile

    David,

Spot on with the first two (from Cres)

The other 'Alpine' scenes taken from my pitch at Camping-Resort Allweglehen, Berchtesgarden and the 'river' scene is on the way into Salzburg from that site.

The site was not cheap, but it had spectacular views, a good restaurant and probably the best shower rooms ever encountered. With Berchtesgaden 10 mins by car in one direction, Salzburg 25 mins by bus in the other, a great spot to spend some time.

On the left hand side of the river (I'm stood on a bridge) there's a lovely Aldi store to replenish stock.

Certainly is and a fantastic place it is.  Spent a week here in 2017 and wish it had been longer.  Lots of walking along quiet roads and in the hills.  Saw a Golden Eagle amongst loads of other wildlife

We tried to book it last June, but it was full for the dates we wanted. Was going to book it this June but thwarted again!

    Hopefully next year😀

When we look through the sky lights in our conservatory roof we've got one of those palms too, ours reminds me of some gardens in Cornwall.  I know it's not Spain David but it will still be there, here's hoping we can all get to our holiday favourites in the future. smile

We have Cornish palms in our garden. They need cutting back again.

There's a nice blue sky and warm sun today too. 👍

To be honest the palms on my photo aren't the usual Cornish ones but we've got those too. wink (I do like a drive along Dracaena Ave in Falmouth sometimes!) laughing
