CAMC 10amp Electric?

Drifting slightly off topic , some posters have mentioned the club mantra of "reducing use due to increasing energy costs " . Surely like us wouldn't CMC bounce between suppliers to get the best deal possible ? .If a domestic household can save a few hundred pounds by changing , the club could surely save in excess of tens of thousands over the year .

Yes I saw that JV thanks. Having used Livechat myself, I am also aware that the answer to a particular question can vary slightly from the Club’s official response when it finally happens. The same as it does with a conversation with Wardens. All technically a similar interpretation, but just differing enough to warrant the “official response” as being the most valued.
Trellis, I sincerely hope that as guardians of the Club purse, they do indeed “shop around”. No doubt there will be a Contracts dept at HQ😁

We use a CL who have a 16 amp supply, unfortunately some selfish members have seriously abused the system, they have now decided to fit metered EHU allowing first 10 kWh, thereafter chargeable.
last year they were so upset they displayed some signs, plus added some signs electric bikes and mobility scooters charging £2.00, plus no EV charging.
I thought £2.00 to charge my mobility scooter excessive, but they are obviously a bit miffed and I can charge my scooter up whilst travelling in the car.
Maybe a 10 kWh limit (chargeable over that) would be better than a 10 amp limit, it would curtail the awning heater brigade and benefit us all.

I have to give that a “like”. If you need more, pay more, rather than it being added to a generic pitch fee. Once everyone is driving EV’s, then it can be done differently.

Yep, the 'free' charge is akin to syphoning fuel out of the warden's tractor.

Not an uncommon scenario on CLs. We are friendly with a few owners we visit on a regular basis, and over a drink have had related one or two tales of occasionally what goes on. Subsidising some Winter visitors isn’t uncommon. It’s why on some CLs that open all year, you get a more expensive Winter pitch fee, or why an awning is charged for, or why charging of EVs is discouraged.

I wonder how that breaker costs including the receptor that it plugs into and then the cost of installing those for each pitch on the club's network? 200 sites at what 50-100 per site? £5 per pitch?
And to what end? lower pitch prices? Perhaps, but i don't see the club ever lowering it prices, and no way to recoup the costs of having them installed.
I suppose new sites or pitches from scratch? But then would they be attractive to new users used to having another supply at other sites?
Is any non club site going down this route I wonder?

Yes, but while the mechanics are possible, the cost doesn't appear to be.
Equally I don't think it is practical on a busy club site with a hundred arrivals for a warden to attend to every new arrival at all hours past 12.
I don't understand your reference to you suggesting anything, I didn't, I merely pointed out how impractical your post was to its implementation.

It's not JVB's H&S at all but the current legislation that applies to all, and cannot be overruled just because there are no accidents over there using such a system. The club has to abide by what happens in the UK.

It would make no difference to this user and would not affect my usage beyond switching heating to 1kw and life as normal as long as I am made aware. As for those charging mobility scooters etc I have no idea of the amperage.

good one, but I thought we were talking AC here? Anyway I always alternate between being positive and negative.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure.

I am absolutely certain that if the Club makes changes to how it provides and monitors supply of electricity to a pitch it will look at the most cost effective, safe and labour saving method it can. Hence the reason why I didn’t specify, who, how or what, merely envisaged that it’s possible. 🙂
