Had a lovely long walk this morning from the NT Sherborne estate (where Springwatch was based recently) through rolling Cotswold countryside and Windrush and Barrington villages. Unfortunately, I got half bitten to death by horse flies - didn't show any interest in Lady!

Lunch at The Fox in Little Barrington was very nice but should have taken out a loan to pay for it! surprised

Just about to settle down for a cuppa (and another custard tart!) innocent

Moulesy, thanks for your yolks, oops that was a typo...wink

Horse fly problems here too, OH has a bad bite on his hand, just for once I have avoided similar.

Too hot for our ancient terrier so relaxing on site, watched a bit of Ascot as we know a friend is there today and I like the hats! laughing

Hmm, quite enjoying doing nothing. smile

Hope Triky is enjoying his break too, or are you back now Pete?

    Onwards to the sea tomorrow.

Malcolm said the Brighton site is 15 miles from his work, much more sensible then for him to locate a nearby public charging point when not staying on the site.

Are there not barriers at the site?  He might not be able to access the charging points anyway  in that case when he is not staying on the site.

ABM the Melrose pig is from the late 14th C so is older, by about 100 yrs, as the Ripon one dates from 1490-1495.

It's not yet a priority as I'm still using my existing petrol driven Smart. The delivery date of the new Electric Smart has been set back to September/October this year.

Why would there not be?  Have you looked at what there  is locally?  Why not investigate now, find the charging points near your work, make a plan before you get the car so you are prepared?

CY, we arrived at Pontorson at 14.15 to totally blue skies and hot hot sunshinecool was even hotter when we left Angers.

We had a couple of hours in the site pool once we got sorted, water not as warm as the pool at Angers but still very nice and welcome. Then a cycle into the town to get a few bits (ice cream & beer) from Lidl's wink

Hopefully tomorrow we can cycle into the Mont, there is a sea mist come in this evening and the temp has dropped greatly. Should get a good sleep tonight last night was rather muggy.

It has been so warm today and even just now on our last walkies it is still very warm, and i noticed the painters are now working on the "Big House" as it has been to warm to do it earlier in the day

The dealership in Portslade has a fast charge electric point but they close at 6 p.m.

The car park next to the lake in Lancing has charge points but at 3 amp output, it would take too long.

Hot and sunny day here. We took the bus into Sheringham and had a look round the market and then walked down the high street to the beach - the tide was in so we had a snack lunch at a lovely café overlooking the sea. There was a school party doing a survey so we were accosted by a group of lovely young girls on the sea front and asked various questions, mostly about coastal erosion and climate change. They were very polite. We caught the bus back and sat in the sun for a bit and I then decided to have a swim in the site pool - it was lovely and warm. The temperature has dropped considerably in the last half and hour.

Tammygirl can I please ask which site you used in Angers.  Heading that way in the next week or so and a recommendation would be good.  Thank you

Just returned today from 17 days on the South Coast and the IOW. Stayed at three sites, none of them CMC. Five nights at the C&CC site at Chichester, seven nights at Waverley Park East Cowes (lovely views of the Solent) and the final five nights at South Lytchett Manor near Poole.

I've just been checking our daylight hours now that we have reached the summer solstice. Sunrise today is 04:48 and sunset 21:19. There is 6 days pause before the days start shortening. On Wednesday next week there will be one minute less daylight. So we're going to be able to enjoy maximum length daylight for nearly a whole week.

This is good news for my work rota because I'm working 18:00 to 23:00 for the next few days until Sunday. It means, it will stay light until 21:49. Officially, lighting up time is half an hour after sunset. So I'll only have to use my head lights and head torch for the last hour of my shift during the next few days!
