The weather is improving here in Lancing but too late to get the sun in the awning. I did sit out there in the relaxer for a few minutes after lunch but it wasn't warm enough to stay out too long.

The railway line is right next to the site so I can see and hear the trains go past every few minutes.

I’m just sitting down for a few minutes (or even several) to give my arm a rest. I’ve been mixing our Christmas cake. I make a very large one so there’s too much mixture for the Kenwood bowl. I have a large earthenware crock and mix it by hand - actual hand, not a spoon or beater. It’s in the tin ready to go in the Aga bottom oven tonight, for about twelve hours.

I know it should have been done weeks ago, and I’m always full of good intentions, but other stuff just gets in the way.

I'm sitting in the front lounge area of the caravan with a golden glow coming through the front window of the sun as it's setting, having just made myself a cup of tea!

Heavy rain and wind overnight here at Burrs, bright and sunny this morning but now back to wind and rain.

Managed to get what I wanted for Mum and a jumper for me. All the special Christmas cards bought so now need to sit down and write them.

Off over the pennines tomorrow hope we don't get snowed in once we get there.

Checked out the 3 top sort after sites last night, plenty of dates left though most weekends gone, don't want any of them just thought I'd  have a look.

After a dry but cold morning and early afternoon we had the occasional rain shower in the late afternoon/early evening. However it has just recently started to snow, and it appears to be sticking. Will have to dress appropriately for our last walk out, in a few minutes time.

It wasn't too busy last night at work so I got to finish on time for a change! My wife's train from London arrived after I had left for work, so she had to walk back to the caravan from the station, just under a mile.

We've just finished breakfast. There's plenty of blue sky this morning and no longer windy. We plan to go to Worthing some time today to give the Shogun a run.

    I'll be working 6 to 10 p.m. this evening.

It's warm enough inside our caravan, triky. It may take a little longer to warm up our awning though. Provided the sun shines, it should get warm enough to sit out in the relaxer by 11 a.m. but it only lasts until 1.30 p.m. when the sun goes behind the tree and is too low in the sky to get any further heat from it. After that, it's necessary to retreat into the caravan with the Alde heating on 2 kw. One kilowatt doesn't give enough power to warm sufficiently in this weather.

Hope to be OK in a day or two ......... not like last year smile

Downside is that I have organised a meal out for 8 people on Saturday. Was looking forwards to it. Sadly I shan't be able to go. If all were well I might have risked it but, as one of our friends has Parkinsons, the last thing that he needs for Christmas is a cold.

Just had a hail shower, getting quite chilly. Mind how you go everyone.

We had an epic day yesterday, seeing friends for lunch, taking neighbours to a meeting later, someone having a hyperglycaemic  attack, phone call to say an aunt had died....slept well last night, felt tired!

    Have a safe journey Helen.

I was pleased to see Coventry won the city of culture bid, an area I know well and it often gets missed due to the attractions of nearby Warwick and Stratford etc.

Brightish here, very red sunrise, very cold breeze, no frost. I have pegged some washing out, that which can't be tumbled and i have the towels washing hopefully they can go out to dry if the forecast was correct.

    Helenandtrevor have a safe journey.

    EasyT heed helenandtrevor advice.

    Brue what a day 😲.

Enjoy your day folks whatever you're doing and stay warm. Not decided on our activities today but as much as possible they'll be indoor ones 😉

Lovely bright cold day here. Off to buy a Christmas tree from the Forestry Site shortly. Just waiting for the sun to defrost the car, then I will go and rearrange the seating, so we can fit it in. The seating in the XTrail always seems a challenge to get it to move, particularly when it is cold.

Three pallets of block paving have just been delivered and annoyed the neighbours as they couldn't get past the Hi-ab with their cars.

Frost overnight, sunny with  clear skies now, but still only 1 degree.

Back to the Guide Hall for me to hand out some more of the chairs we have advertised, free, on Gumtree.

We put them all on Freecycle too, but no takers there as yet.

Woke up to snow on the ground and falling from the sky. Been on and off all morning. Local primary school closed. I think they close it as soon as the first snowflake is sighted.

Don't want too much more of it. Whilst the gritters are out, they don't come into the cul-de-sac so might have to dig our way to the main road tomorrow. Looks like MIL's new knee will be getting a workout then.smile

Hope everyone out travelling arrive safely.

Hope today is a little quieter for you Brue.

Question for Triky. As I'm not exactly a DIYer how does a saw reciprocate? Does it pull when you push? Take a tea break when you do? Please explain.

Windy wild night, then woke up to a sprinkling of frozen snow. Beautiful sunshine by the time we left Burrs, had a good drive over to Penistone.

Weather here is sunny and breezy, Sunday doesn't look good though 15 -20 cm of snow forecast frown

    Safe drive H&T

    Take care of yourself ET

Glad you've arrived safely Tammygirl. Do you have snow on the ground where you are?

Wherenext I'm looking forward to discovering what Tricky's new tool actually is designed for and how it works.

3.7c Jolly cold wind here but dried my washing beautifully and it smells lovely. Easily pleased 😇. Beautifully sunny - just leaving the conservatory so time to find indoor jobs/chair. I have just put the window decs up in the conservatory earliest ever for us. OH went to the loft unsupervised 😲 phone went, and I expect we have even less than I was planning in the way of decs down 😃. Will check up in a mo. Cases down too 😆.
