Son got back from his 6 day business trip to Japan.  I'm back in Yarmouth for a few hours before returning to Barleywood.

Down at DD's house to try and fix her toilet flush, looks like the parts she got will do the job.  Also trying to fix the pram wheels her brother has passed on, his 2 must have been bouncing  too much in the pram as 2 of the pins holding the springs are broken.

After the brilliant sunshine this morning, it's clouded over again here again. The good news today was that my car Smart car insurance premium has been reduced by just over £200 because of the change in my employment status and less mileage.

Done some shopping today - manic.

Whether has been 'orrid most of the day. Snow forecast all day tomorrow. Hopefully come Monday we an get the new caravan packed. Presently heating on at 20c. Not necessary but just running the system.

Should have been out with 6 friends tonight but cried off so as to save them from our colds. Seem to be behind but thankful that I went to see youngest daughter and grandsons last weekend.

On my MacBook, it's upside down as both thumbnail and when clicked on. I thought it might have been Dame Edna's kitchen.

Interesting and slightly embarrassing day, had a lovely walk round the lakes before heading into Peterborough on the bus, waited ages and then blow me 2 buses came at the same time 😲

Had a look round the Christmas Market  only small but Bodie our collie had a real fuss made of him at the Dogs Trust stall, we got him from them ☺ Shops very busy.

Ended up not buying very much  after all, 😢 then had to get a coffee to thaw out !

Caught what we thought was the bus back, except it wasn't it was going in the wrong direction, 😶😶😶 had to get off and then catch the correct bus back via the bus station.  😮😶 oops! Nearly missed the stop for the site too!

You can tell we don't use buses very often 😂😂😂😂

Took us a while to clear some snow but fairs fair, MIL doesn't move as quick as she used to. I even had to help!

Journey was as expected, just long. Nice cottage in Norfolk. Off to the pub next door just now. As the saying goes "I may be some time".wink

Very cold here overnight and windy. Woke up to lovely sunshine this morning and no wind so felt a bit warmer.

Went out shopping with the Gkids + their Mum and Dad, then late lunch out and more shopping but just with grandaughter, others went home. Started to snow late afternoon, quite big flakes but didn't last long and all main roads ok. Forecast for tomorrow isn't as bad now as they said yesterday, here's  hoping they are right.

Might be staying another day or so though as son needs to change his car otherwise its going to costsurprised and you know who will end up paying.

Bakers2, only the lightest sprinkling of snow when we arrived and not much since and hope it stays that way, flipping cold tonight though can't seem to get warm.

Helenandtrevor if it's any consolation we got on the right number bus last time we left the city. Didn't' recognise much as we went along the roads - spoke to the driver going wrong direction. 😶. Got off crossed over the road and caught next bus back. We too got off and on by T K Max.

Sorry your shopping wasn't overly successful. I didn't know about the Christmas market and it seems I didn' miss much?

Delivered all our local Christmas cards. Managed to catch up with a couple of friends too 😆.

Thermometer dropping rapidly so watching strictly and then we'll watch some of the new series of The Crown.

Oh Tammygirl have you got some back up heating? I do hope so. Glad snow and forecast now not too bad. Good luck with the car situation, doesn't matter how old they are they always seem to cost us money 😲😉😂.

Wherenext glad you've arrived safely, enjoy your stay. Your avatar is sometimes visible and sometimes not even as I read the thread.

Forgot to add the gritter was doing our road about 1pm, that's early so possibly colder than we thought 😲

We have 11kg gas if power goes off.  At this time of year I also  put in a fan heater and small radiator just in case.

Mince pies surprised haven't bought any and have no intention of making any frown in fact haven't bought any Christmas fare yet! Gone are the days I used to stand for hours baking OH just eats it all laughinglaughing

After a freezing night we woke to blue skies but it then started to cloud up. Fortunately we had no more snow and the roads were clear as we moved on to Ilkley. Odd flakes of snow this afternoon bit it appears that the Wharfe Valley is sheltered as the fells either side are white while there's hardly a sprinkling on the fields round here. Aquaroll is well insulated now but I'll remove the pump just to be on the safe side as another hard frost is forecast for tonight.

Glad you made it to Norfolk safe & sound, WN.

Have a good trip to Black Knowle, Tricky.

All that are out and about tomorrow take care.

Where do you normally catch the bus from Ferry Meadows? Last time we were there we walked down towards the Garden Centre but went off to the right just past the railway level crossing taking the footpath to Wistow Way. Is there a better bus stop?

Talking about getting on the wrong transport. When we were last in Austria, staying on Ossiacher See near Villach we got on the wrong train and were heading off round the south of the lake rather than the north. Had to get off at a station in the middle of nowhere for the train back to Villach!!!

What part are you in WN?

Nice dinner and catch up with friends no scoops though as driving back here.

although it’s dropped to freezing the roads weren’t too bad.

It was a stormy night for us last night with a combination of wind and rain pattering on the caravan roof all night. The caravan kept rocking in the wind but luckily the awning has survived. It was well battened down with storm straps and guy ropes, which did the trick. Nevertheless, the floor is wet with puddles of water!

I finished work earlier last night because although it was busy earlier in the evening, it suddenly went quiet after 8 p.m., so they let me go at 8.15 p.m. so we had an early dinner and early night.

I'll be working 6 to 10 tonight and the same again on Monday, then day off on Tuesday.

Well an inch of snow outside and another 5 hours of snow forecast. I've put the heating back on this morning. The house is not cold but I'll keep it that way. We will just have to wait for snow to clear before we refill caravan. Glad to say that I went out yesterday and did some food shop. The shops were very busy and folk seemed to be stocking up.

Hopefully our colds will be better by then!

A friend of mine has a daughter who makes and decorates some wonderful cakes. She has made this one for a painter and decorator friend. Even the label on the 'tin' is edible (label £2 from Ebay apparently).

Well what a start to the day out with Rosa ankle deep in snow and still snowing hard,  gritter with snow plough working has just gone up the road we are lucky as our road is at times a bus route do not give much hope to any one trying to use a car anywhere as it is very hilly where we are on the side of the Nimram Valley, and also access to our local coop already two snowmen being built across the big field ,but it looks beutifull in the woods

Snowing hard and settling here in the county town. We're on a bus route and road gritted yesterday at least once but still covered. Wasn't snowing at 6am but good covering but 8am, don' know what time it started 😲. Don' think we've got as much as some. But that said visit to tge shed footpints disappeared within 5 minutes.

Spoke to son who's walking get the dog in ankle deep snow in Sawtry. He swopped photos with his sister. Hers were of his neices playing in the pool. What a contrast. Her comments was ours was nice to look at 😆

    Stay safe and warm folks.
