Thanks H&T, we often stayed at Burrs prior to visiting our youngest son. They have just moved back from Malta so we off to see them at the weekend after I've had my 'fix' at the market.

Where are you heading off to?

H&T, hope they stay safe over the next few days, its looking to be wild in some places. We have lots of snow capped mountains around were we live, not enough yet for skiing but after this weekend who knows, our next stop is a CL on the Pennines surprised hope we don't get blown too much or snowed in, think I will do a bit of food shopping before we go just in case.laughing

Felt a bit ashamed. Made a nice lady cry today.

Friend of ours was telling us that her mother has fallen in love with a jam and a marmalade that they brought back from their holiday. The thing is that her mother has Dementia and only remembers to take her tablet when she has some of these preserves for breakfast. She's run out and doesn't have a computer at the moment. So we ordered some for her and gave them to her today, no charge.

The poor woman has been under so much pressure that I think this was just a release valve. She often talks to us about the Dementia as we've experienced it with FIL, so I think she feels comfortable knowing that what she's going through is normal.

It's bl**dy horrible, that's what it is. My thoughts to anyone going through same.

Couldn't agree more WN, my Mum has dementia she is 91 and now in a care home. While she recognises us she often struggles initially to recall our names. She is at the stage now where she is asking for her Mum, Dad and her brother's  and sisters, Mum is the youngest of 7. Its all about her childhood, hardly any memories of getting married and having children, so sad. Both my sister and I visit twice  week, the longer you sit and talk to her and look at photos the more she remembers.

Well done today, even if you did make her cry it was a lovely gesture.

I agree Wherenext. My lovely Mum had dementia. It is very cruel. At the end she forgot her grandchildren (our children). No memory of all those lovely times when they were young and she made all my daughter's clothes and they went shopping together. So sad. A lovely gesture of yours today.

Dementia robs the memories that we have and what our families are built on. Mum could remember going on holiday in the caravan, my wife and son. my sister's family was a blank, It made conversation extremely difficult to have any sort of chat.

It was a lovely gesture WN .

We always leave our step on the van, and have a small reserve one too.

H&T, we have about 4 leads spread round the van and car, as we've gone without one in the past.

We've got up to a windy morning. We can hear it howling outside and the caravan rocking a bit.

Later, I'll need to take my wife to Lancing station for her train to London. She has a dental appointment at Guys Hospital. She'll be returning by train after it.

I'll be working 6 to 9 p.m. this evening. Last night I was supposed to finish at 9 p.m. but it got busy, so they asked me to stay later. I eventually finished work at 9.45 p.m.

Very wet here but not too windy so far. We are meeting ex walking group friends for lunch.  I am glad it is just the lunch today and no walk - it would be very wet and muddy underfoot.

Rather breezy and very dull (read hardly light ) but dry here so far. Heading into town for mum this morning want to get back before the rain. I then think I should be done for shopping after this trip 😆. Unless she gives me another cheque - still we do have banks in town at the mo 😉

Didn't participate yesterday but interesting reading the posts. Certainly seems the IT system not the easiest 😉😉, people assuming sites are full as they look at availability,  Baltic Wharf in particular as grass appears 1st there ain't  any😲! CL search not working goes round it circles but doesn't flag up out of service until 10am Thursday 😲.  Yet CT still functioned who are we to question?

Stay safe folks home or away.

Wind steadily increasing and rain due within the next hour, we could do with the rain to top up supplies as we haven't had a great deal this year but could do without the wind and potential damage. A possibility of some snow on the south coast tomorrow which in its self is a rarity. 😊

Wet start today when on first walk with Rosa, things have gone down hill since a air ambulance noted heading west towards motorway ,had breakfast spilt tea, then went to catch 0900 bus into town for eye test at 0925,no sign of bus at 0910 a young lady had an app on her phone that shows where buse are, and the overdue buses all stuck, as motorway closed and all traffic diverted, contacted opticians ,and some of their staff also stuck,so back home in the warm with new app next week

As for yesterday's  "frenzy?"where was it?as had a  look and then a panic as got straight in , and as we had a list of ideas for next year booked them and five sites all booked by 0830 , then last night went on again to adjust some dates, as we had by then firmed up the important areas we "needed to be" at set times cool

I didn't find any 'frenzy' either JVB.  I went on the site at 8.30am and the 2 sites we wanted on specific dates were all booked by 8.40am.smile CT worked fine all day as wellwink.  The rest of our 2018 bookings can be left for the time being until we decide when and where we want to go.

Hope everyone stays safe in the next few days.

The wind seems to have calmed down here.

Earlier, I drove my wife to Lancing station. It was raining then but seems to have stopped now. After returning to the caravan, I watched the 11a.m. movie on Film4 called Thunder Bay. The picture kept breaking up at the beginning;  the wind was affecting the signal. It got better as the wind died down.

My wife has left me some lunch ready cooked in the fridge. I just have to warm it up in the microwave. I'm not sure what time her dental appointment will finish. Her train journey from London Bridge will probably take about two and a half hours. So she may not get back before it's time for me to leave for work.

I'll be working 6 to 9 p.m. this evening. Just three hours. I said that yesterday and I ended up doing nearly four hours!

Heavy snow forecast for this area tomorrow which is a bit of a bind as we are due to travel to the East coast on Saturday to a cottage that we are treating MIL to (haven't told her it's not a return ticket yetsurprisedsmile).

Cold but sunny today which is my preferred weather at this time of year.

We didn't participate in site bookings yesterday. If we stay on a site it will be a last minute decision so will either be lucky or not. There is usually an adequate CL nearby.
