A lovely dry day so a short walk from Cromer to Overstrand and back. We did park quite a way up Runton Road to make it worth while.
Mrs WN disappeared into Jarrolds on the way and came back with a new pen, this time for Calligraphy✍✍. Can't complain after my recent spending spree.
Last day here as we move tomorrow to another CL, this time in North Suffolk.
Enjoyed our Norfolk stint. A pleasure meeting Oneputt and some friends yesterday. Bit of a different trip for us.
I expect everything will go as planned TG but good luck anyway.

I am interested that registrar visit is after funeral arranged, I know Scotland is different in many ways, here you can't arrange funeral until death is registered and you need an appointment! Gone are the days of calling in, no registry office either here....... same for births. Thinking of you all in the coming days and especially 1130 Thursday.
Bakers2, not sure if it makes a difference or not but Mum already had a funeral plan in place so all we did was call them and they did everything initially. All we had to do was tell them what day we would like it to be and which hymns/music we would like. The Registry office needed an appointment, which we sorted before we got back from France. OH tells me that the funeral cannot take place until Form 14 (in Scotland) is produced by the Registrar and given to the funeral home.
Thank you for your kind thoughts.

David We have never been to Cirencester so cannot comment, However, we went to Burford a few years ago and it is a lovely site with an absolutely excellent facilities block. Burford itself is a lovely little town. Not as touristy as some of the other Cotswold towns. The only snag is that it is not really within walking distance of the site and there are no eateries within walking distance either.
We had an absolute cloudburst about an hour ago with hail, thunder and lightning. OH had just finished cutting the grass (it had been a fairly decent day until then) and got absolutely soaked running down the garden after putting the lawnmower away. Our road was awash but it has drained away now.

David, as Freddy55 says the walk from Cirencester site thro the Park is closed off at 5pm, but you can still be brave & use the alternative footway alongside the road. Plenty of things to do in and around Cirencester BUT remember which ever route you use into the town the trip back is all uphill !!
P.S. forgot to say that on my most recent visit last year the road in for caravans was standard British roadway I.E. Rough & Potholed !! At least it ensures compliance with the 5 mph speed limit ( Really is the only poor part of it all )

Very wet and windy here today. It’s been manic here over the past couple of days we have been decorating the dining room and the living room almost finished but it’s been hard work. Sitting here in the living room surrounded by bright white walls and the smell of fresh paint.

I think I would choose Burford, nice village and I have heard the pitches there are large and flat, just watch out for that roundabout that ET had a run-in with!
Cirencester does have some larger pitches, but also a lot of those narrow ones where you park the car across the front if you are using an awning, plus the access road is very poor.

A rather wet morning here in Bayeux. However, it improved for us to walk into town for lunch. Snails in garlic butter, followed by a seafood lasagna, washed down with a nice rose. After lunch the weather had improved and we walked on to the D day museum by the British cemetery, where we spent an interesting hour and a half. There was a group of French school kids who we felt rather sorry for, their teacher seemed to be boring them to death by going into far to much detail.

If I was going to Burford I wouldn't stay at the Club site but the private site up nearer the town. So my choice of the two would be Cirencester because of the walking opportunities direct from the site. Something that might appeal to you is that Cirencester has some new serviced pitches!!!

Fine day weatherwise at Carlisle. Went for a drive out and ended up at Talkin Tarn. Pleasant walk around the perimeter although it was blowing a bit. We're glad we came up yesterday as it could have been a bit wild over Shap. In fact there was a Sainsbury's lorry "parked" across the inside lane of the northbound carriageway of the M6, halfway down the long drop from the summit, with the cab at right angles to the trailer down below the level of the road in a field, and it wasn't even that windy yesterday. Called in to view Wetheral Priory Gatehouse on our way back to the van.

Hope that the dealer soon has the brakes sorted, OP.
Glad to hear that you've got the leak fixed David, and fingers crossed that it's sealed now. With all the rain that we've had lately it's not surprising that some buildings are suffering from water ingress.
Sorry to hear that others have been caught out in the rain today.

We’ve been lucky today, nice and sunny although a chilly breeze. Had a look around Saltburn, some nice independent eateries and shops. We have a meet up with more family tomorrow, top of the Moors at The Lion Inn. It’s the one where folks often end up snowed in for days on end. Don’t think it’s a risk at the moment though.

Sorry to intrude on the wet weather stories, but we're back in Porto now, at the end of our cruise and it's. .......... well hot and sunny really! Porto is an odd city - from the river it looks very picturesque but once you get into the centre it's horribly busy. The most interesting building is the railway station which is decorated with over 20000 ceramic tiles illustrating various aspects of the country's history. It is also a city of bridges - 6 huge bridges of various vintages span the river. We did walk over one of them on the way to a port tasting session!
We have a very early start tomorrow morning - breakfast at 5:30 before a short drive to the airport for our flight home.

Nice photos moulesy. Hope the alarm clock worked 😉.
Safe travels to you and SteveL as well as anyone else moving around today.
Very dark here this morning 😲 and it's not raining just very grey 😢 not cold though. Not looking forward to the shorter winter days.

Tammygirl you will be in our thoughts tomorrow. It sounds as though your OH is doing a wonderful job sorting out the admin.
Moulsey I have loved all the photos of your holuday. Safe journey home. Please bring some some sunshine with you.
Bakers2 I hate the long dark winter nights as well.

DSB, hope you get away. We have used Cirencester Site a couple of times for overnight stays on way to further South. Cirencester town is very nice, and has a wonderfully interesting Church. Some nice eateries, interesting independent shops and Roman Museum. The countryside around the town is nice, typical Cotswolds. If you like Roman history, Chedworth Roman Villa (NT) isn’t far away. The Thames Head Inn going out towards Tetbury serves delicious food. Has a nice campsite as well, but might not be what you need. Details are in Private Sites thread sticky.😀
Can’t help with Burford, never been.

The weather here yesterday was pretty good for most of the day, unlike back home in Glasgow where it was apparently heavy rain for most of the day.
We took a trip to the coast, first to Seaham to see the Tommy statue, which was very impressive, then after lunch up to the Glass centre in Sunderland. Never knew that Sunderland was formerly such a big glass making centre.
Some essential food shopping on the way home before our move today to near York. Only a short hop so will not set out till around 11.30. Lovely and sunny today.

Have a lovely time in York K, hope this dry weather holds for you. I doubt you are using Club Site, but YRP has some advice on restricted entry to site over certain dates if you are. Two good ideas for wet days are a river cruise, or take lunch and hop on one of the Tour buses and enjoy the quirky history commentary! You can get on and off at your leisure.😁
