Ah well, carry on tugging and enjoy your van.👍🏻

Tell Mrs WN that the rear doors make accessing underbunk rear storage and the PSU panel much easier and they provide great ventilation when the weather's hot because the windows don’t open. Those non-opening windows are a great security feature though.😃

Those rear doors are great when you're sweeping up too. No need of a dustpan 😉😂

Something new, for us, tonight, never stopped on an Aire before. Currently just north of Poitiers next to a very nice lake. Tomorrow hopefully well down on the Atlantic coast. Aire again, if we can get on, just behind the dunes. 😀⛱ That ones even more of a first as it has no power. So we will get to make use of our gas and solar power in anger 😂 for the first time.

Sounds ok steve, we often have the odd night off grid.

After a great night in a pub, we had a good mooch around Rothbury this morning, then a lovely scenic drive up to our cottage in Borders. Beautiful cottage, very scenic views, we have already spotted hares, and hope to see deer. We have goats and Llamas to keep us amused as well.

So that's why my pitch is not as clean as it could be!

    Thanks a lot.

    😂😂😂.

First you remove dropped items and then return the dust to whence it came. Anyway can't be your pitch as I've only done it in NZ 😂.

SteveL looks lovely, enjoy. I'm sure you'll be fine with your own resources and be happy to do it more often.

Takethedogalong glad you enjoyed Rothbury,  I have a friend who lives nearby and like visiting the area. Have a great time in the Borders.

Evenings are pulling in - street lights on at 1945 here tonight 😲😲.

Rain overnight forecast my garden will be very grateful if it arrives. A good soaking and clearing away by dawn would please me too 😉.

Used the car today other for tugging or shopping when we visited several little villages along the Saone river.  Lots of little walks and wildlife watching.  Eventually made it to the pretty town of Tournus just in time for lunch and another afternoon stroll. Warm day here at 26C, but 30C tomorrow.  Went for our after dinner walk to Chalon.  Moving on again tomorrow to The Brenne National Park.

    All those travelling stay safe

All those still recovering get well soon

WN - not being nosy, but well yes I am, what van are you getting?

OH had her invite lying on the doorstep when we got home from our last trip 2 weeks ago. However we will be away again before they could fit us in so it will have to be on our return from the next trip, towards the end of November.

We stopped at the site in Tournus, one March, en route to Aguamolls Reserve in NE Spain. Not many sites open then. We thought it was going to be a huge mistake as there was a Fair in the adjacent car park. Very glad to find out that they were packing up that day! Mind you we only stayed 2 nights.

We bought a Coachman VIP 460. Won't pick it up for a while as existing hardstanding needs extending. Have to get someone in as ribs in no state to do it. Fingers crossed.

Enjoy whatever is around at La Brenne.

What a lot to catch up on and I've only been off line for 24 hours laughing

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday with Mr & Mrs Kj.

Bakers we could send you some rain, we've certainly had enough of it now, waiting to get back into the garden for grass cutting and the small hedge needs another cut but its far to wet to even think about it. Will have to be done before we go though so the weather had better sort itself out.

WN, we've not visited Marquis but we did speak to them on the phone Re a Warwick earlier this year, wasn't impressed then, felt as if they were doing us a favour by selling us a van. Their idea of an offer on a less than year old caravan was a joke, only we weren't laughing. We also liked the Autotrail 635SE and the 634SE.  One day maybe we will think about it again but for now we will stay with the caravan.

Hope you like your new one we have the 450/2 Highlander, its the dealer special,  so based on the 450 but the upholstery and cupboards/lockers are the same as the VIP, payload for us though isn't that great once everything was on, hence the bigger than normal car required for longer trips.

We often stop over in Tournus on our way south, it is so handy and the town is lovely.

Rains gone off now so OH decided to try getting the hedge done, think he will still get wet though.

Steve that Aire looks a nice one, save some of that good weather, we are over next week. laughing

We don’t get to many weddings, but they are often interesting. We are going to what sounds a very nice one end of October. Couple have organised it themselves, it’s not an expensive one, but got all that is important to them. We have declined invites to those held overseas. One we just couldn’t get to, the only one we would have attended, but we spent the money we saved giving the bride and groom a trip to Edinburgh as their first anniversary present. The others were escapes from a too heavy family presence, so we obliged!😁

Glorious morning here. Tesco have delivered, the pooch is walked, we are breakfasted, and a bike ride for one, drive tour with stop offs for three plus the dog is the order of the day! Raincoats packed of course😂

Quite lucky really TG as the caravan had an upgraded plate on it so it gives us over 200kgs worth of payload, hence no need for a separate bike carrier. We'll not get anywhere near that but it is nice to have a bit of wiggle room. Mrs WN thought Marquis were simply Complacent and Arrogant. Can't have put it better myself.

Been welded to the computer all morning searching for an upgrade in car. You would think there would be oodles out there in September but we've noticed New Reg cars have been getting scarcer in the first month now for some time. Sometimes takes us all month to see a new reg car these days.

Oh well, back to the grindstone.

Enjoy the holiday Ttda. You certainly seem to be these days.

That's a great payload WN, we upgraded ours and got an extra 35kg frown which of course the mover gobbled up 33kg of that. By the time we take into account battery, gas bottles etc we have a measly 80kg left frown our MTPLM is 1350 kg

Been welded to the computer all morning searching for an upgrade in car. I know where there is a Kuga for sale winklaughing

Best wishes Francis. I know exactly where you're coming from!

Wherenext new purchase sounds exciting, do you really need that car now?

    Takethedogalong all sounding very lovely.

Thoroughly enjoyed our son's wedding earlier this year, all very personal to them. Sadly wasn't much assistance ourselves 😉except for saving rose petals last year! Yes everything very homemade/spun  and personal to ghem. Homemade  confetti cones from friends and families garden petals. No wedding March just mum, lost dad a couple of years ago 😢 and bride walking down the aisle followed by her maids whilst we all sang lord of all hopefulness. Magic, to them leaving the church in a land-rover defender 😂😂 and the decoration of the reception itself. Poor groom and groomsman did hours of work on the 2 days before My heart goes out to the bride (& groom) in your upcoming wedding brue. I'm sure it will all be fine.

Decent rain overnight but windy now so drying out, sun's nice though 32.5 in the conservatory but only 19.8 outside, defo feels like a change of season. Tammygirl there's talk of bringing water our way - at present from the Fens, but we don't mind if you want to pipe yours down once it's landed 😂

Bakers, I especially need a replacement car now! Existing one was bought with a view to carting around a smaller van with a smaller weight so need something a bit heavier. Shame really as we don't use it a great deal when at home, using the little runaround that Mrs WN has.

We're travelling over to a garage on Friday to possibly agree a part exchange so hopefully that will be it for the next 5 years at leas, fingers crossed. I think I said the same thing 2 years ago.cry

Wouldn't have minded the Kuga TG except you don't do p/x do you?

    ps. Great news Francis.👍

You can most certainly draw our attention to your earlier post. I saw it and noted it 😉. I prefer to extend summer to the equinox around 21st September 😂😂. Summer is short and the evenings pull in fast enough. Our street lights came in at 1945 last night 😲.

Please don't mention the other word,  only consolation with that means we're about halfway through darker nights and past the midwinter solstice 😃.

Now in the Brenne National Park after a convoluted journey.  Decided to come cross country and not pick up any tolls.  Everything fine until just before Nevers when the road was closed, after about 8 miles someone, I’m guessing here, swopped the deviation signs around.  Brunhildie (our Satnav) through a massive tantrum followed by over half an hour of sulking before we were back on track.  Never mind went through lovely countryside and villages, very little traffic and not really stressed 😩

Great choice of van WN.  We brought the VIP 530 cos it was roughly the same layout as the Lunar.  The weight difference is quite considerable. The Lunar was 1350 fully loaded where the Coachman is 1545.  Fortunately the CRV cope admirably.

Just going to have a nosy around site🤥

We are at La Roche Posay, not many people here. After the nosy I’m guessing 75% of pitches are empty, mind you I think they close about 12 September.

Filled the car up with French diesel today, it’s messy stuff and the black exhaust smoke was something to behold, it doesn’t smell nice either.  Didn’t effect the cars performance.  Lesson learn will be using a higher grade in the future

At Beaumont Saint - Cyr, just north of Poitiers and a short run from Futuroscope.

CAMPING-CAR PARK AREA OF SAINT-CYR LE LAC
rue de la Bourdillière 86130 BEAUMONT SAINT-CYR

    9,75 €/24h Rates
    1/01 - 30/06 : 9,20 €/24h
    1/07 - 31/08 : 11,80 €/24h
    1/09 - 31/12 : 9,20 €/24h
    Parking 5h + services : 5 €
    + tourist tax : 1/01 - 31/12 : 0,55 €/nuit

Really liked it, we would certainly go back. Probably not so tonight's, which although superbly located a short walk from the Atlantic, is nowhere near as well laid out. Fortunately it isn't even half full. I certainly wouldn't fancy it if it was. However, I got to play with the big waves after we pitched up. Thoroughly enjoyable and the water was reasonably warm. Although a lot harder work than when we last visited some 30 years ago.☹️

GPS Cords for The Saint Cyr Aire. As I notice the post code is quite a wide area

    GPS coordinates: 46.721847° 0.456115°

Oh I should mention it is one of a chain you have to buy a card for whilst still in the UK. You then charge this up with credit which gets you through the barrier.
