We were once on a site in Germany. There was minimal demarcation between the site and the adjacent fields and a local farmer started to do the same, he was coming perilously close to some of the pitches. I did wonder if he had some sort of grudge against the campsite!!!!

Another warm and dry day here again but quite breezy and cloudy, almost looking like well get some rain, but alas a few large spots over the last couple of days has been our lot. Our garden is desperate for some rain - even the buddleia is wilting!

Another early walk through the woods for us with the granddog, OH doing it too 😀. Out for a good hour or more on unstable terrain with slight inclines, this is Essex 😉, all be it slowly so more improvements. Despite much pleading son and DIL wont give her back to us, she was with us more than them for the first 2 years of her life, and get a puppy themselves!! The incentive to walk is so much better with a purpose - strolling roads locally doesn't inspire and he has to be encouraged 😂. Varying appointments and late rising embarassed discourages trips to other places at present! Then another 30 minutes plus late afternoon/early evening. I can see a big difference in 3 days.

Not done anything very constructive today, called at the out of town M & S for a few bits on our way back from the local estate. Followed by a trip to the hairdressers for the full works. Been a great day for drying washing but that means I have some ironing from today and earlier in the week, it maybe cool enough to do it later. Son gone off to play golf so later dinner this evening.

Birds are eating me out of seeds and fatballs - 8 fatballs plus a fat square a day 😯 such is the quantity of baby birds. 35 starlings on the TV aerials this morning waiting for me to do the ground feeding! We're on our 4th brood of robins and blackbirds to my knowledge! I do notice that the blackbird has ceased singing at 4am over the last week, maybe the breeding season is concluding??

Been in and out all day trying to get the garden and lawns into some sort of shape, but Mrs M is out playing bridge so now I'm in enjoying a lovely cream tea (jam on the scones first,  obviously ) and settling down to, hopefully watch Roger give that nasty Rafael a good spanking! surprised

Just been watching Mr Djokovic ease into the next round { Final of course } then pause again in the house work to give the RSPB  magazine a stiff check over before vacuuming the stairs. Decided to take a rest from all that Hard Graft to see what the 'Vanning World is up to today.

Sun is shining now and, although quite windy, them pesky showers have paused for a while at least.

Serious day tomorrow - sorting / loading motor ready for a four day stop at Ferry Meadows, then 2 nights at home to refill then about a fortnight  at Merrose Farm & Ramslade to try to educate them there southerers  wink

Roger & Rafael just arrived on court - Moulesy put your drink down & start Concentrating  laughing

B2,  It may be the end of the breeding season for your Blackbirds, but peeping out of the windows at TV aerials it seems that Wood Pigeons and Rooks are in full "smooching " mode round chez A B M  embarassed.

The bushes etc that I gently trimmed recently { savaged actually } seem to have recovered from the shock and are sprouting like billy-oh now. Perhaps I should be a little more severe in their regular treatment - they must provide decent cover for the sparrows, tits etcetera in their autumn / winter housing and I've given them a good talking to on that very subject  laughing!

Have a good time all those off on their hols.

I thought I'd do a bit of cutting back in the garden today, but I have to say it's still warm here so that's my excuse for not doing too much.

We are up early tomorrow, our resident (well living nearby) trumpeter is playing in another big band session at the ungodly hour of 10am in Bucky Doo Square, Bridport (yes that's a real name laughing) However when he told me the play list I know I'm going to hear some good tunes so we're forming a support team of two and heading for the nearest café soon after. Between them our daughter and her partner are playing in four places over the weekend. A musician's life is hectic in the summer months, so if you're on holiday near Bridport tomorrow you'll hear Glenn Miller music drifting in the air (amongst other jazzy stuff.) smile

That’s a pity, we were in Bridport yesterday, just got back home. Would have been nice to have caught a bit of that.

Farming never stops. We started mowing last night for 2nd cut silage and we’re picking up and carting now. All I have to do is to provide copious amounts of food and drink.

All being well we will finish Sunday or Monday and then we are almost immediately going on holiday! I haven’t booked yet (just in case the best laid plans etc) , but we’re going to New England Bay for 10 days! Never have we been away for so long. The caravan should be more or less sorted from our few days away in April. I think there’s even some drink left in it. So just clothes and food for the first day to go in. I’m told they have shops in Scotland. Well I know they do. We’ve been going to the same site on and off since 1976.

Yes, but what a great match! How about that serve that Roger challenged even though he hit a perfect return? It'll be great if the final is as good and at least there's some British interest with that Scottish/Irish player Jock O'Fitz providing the opposition! laughing

One side and the front of the caravan now gleaming clean and shining bright smile

OH been busy with the covered deck, its looking good.

I finally gave in and watered the grass seed as the promised rain didn't appear. Half an hour after doing so the sky darkened and we got rain yell oh well, with the warm weather it should sprout soon.

    Ironing still not done laughinglaughing

Ooh you'll have to avoid CT, someone's bound to mention it - along with the cricket result and the winner of the British Grand Prix - but my lips will be sealed (can't promise anything about the fingers though! ) wink

Had a nice quiet day, for a Saturday that is  laughing. Saturday puzzle pages sorted, birds fed, 'van checked over ready for the Wednesday trip to Ferry {water} Meadows  which I hope have dried out well. List made of ' refills required ' so a gentle trip now into the village corner shop { ASDA actually} so all will be ready for me on my return to top up for the motorway run down to Cornwall a day later. Must do it today 'cos tomorrow IT'S SPORTS DAY sealed!!

Plenty of grey clouds but when the sun does break through it's warm verging on the hot if I'm out of the breeze.  Hope its all satisfactory for you and whatever you are doing and wherever you are. ( Pause for breath ).Best wishes to all holidayers, ailing ones and sad ones -- May you soon find those things to bring a smile to your faces & hearts.

Please take care but do  have fun  smilecool
