We are on a bit of an eBay roll at the moment, OH is clearing out garage, I am off to try and sell a saddle hopefully. Had a full day in garden yesterday, thinning out a very deep holly hedge. Our nice next door neighbour was on the case from her side as well, so it was good to have company. Looking great now, seem to have reclaimed another metre of garden apiece. The hedge is a mix of holly, ivy, forsythia, snowberry and a bit of privet, but the holly is the toughest bit to sort out, glad that bit is finally sorted. I am aching this morning though, will have to find something a bit easier to do today.

We have sold our beloved older Jeep Wrangler as well. Had it 17 years, towed thousands of miles with it, took it on some serious off road days, it was the perfect car when we had our three Airedale terriers. Only failed it’s test once in all that time, and never let us down once. 4.0 litre petrol beastie that somehow managed to turn in a regular 29 mpg (which we doubled by dual fuelling it with LPG!) By far the most fun car we have ever owned. It will be a sad day when it finally rolls out of garage for last time.😢 On the plus side, it ain’t going far........two BILs have got together and sharing it, so we may still get to use it!😁😁

Best wishes to those not very well, or with relatives not very well.

Tammygirl hope the GP called on your mum and that things are being sorted.

Thank you yes,  Dr came to see her about 2.30 the home said. Yet another chest infection, more antibiotics 7 day course this time. I think this is going to be an ever recurring theme from now frown she has lost a fair bit of weight and muscle tone with not getting about as much as she used to.

Lovely sunny day today with a fresher breeze, started polishing the other side of the caravan but had to give up as it got too hot, (never thought I would say that about here) laughing will go back to it when the sun passes over a bit and put's that side in the shade. Until then OH has got more wood for me to paint before he puts it up. I've got a break just now as he has gone off to a meeting to do with the lunch club.

Been looking for a cruise for January, not decided on one yet but got someone looking into several. If we can't find one we fancy we just might fly out to America, hire a car and do our own thing. undecidedJanuary/Feb is such rotten cold miserable months up here, so if we can escape we will.

Back from our great weekend at the lovely Thetford Forest club site.

For any horsey folk up that way on 20 July 19 the household cavalry will be having their open day at Bodley camp which is about 3 miles from the club site on the Watton Road.  Some years since we’ve been but it is an interesting day

Tammy, I am not usually interested in Cruises but there was one advertised in the today that might just tempt me if I had the spare cash available. Expedition to Antartica and South America including taking in a Total Solar Eclipse and trips to Patagonia and Falkland Islands. Prices in the cellar start from about £4,500 pp but I would want to go with Neptune Suite at £13,500 pp. From next November so I've started saving!smile Contributions willingly accepted.

Had a Gas Boiler service booked in for this morning, the 8am to 1pm slot, which usually means you're hanging around until lunch time. But, yippee, we were first customer. Then off out to do some last minute things for the ladies, plus a trip to the Opticians to check where my broken glasses were. Still waiting for the part (arm) from Austria.yell Then just bits and pieces around the house. Nice sunny day today.

Another lovely day here down on the south coast. We had a relaxing morning sitting out in the sun reading the newspapers, nice to relax a bit after 3 days of getting up early so we didn’t leave site until about half 1. We took a drive to Sandbanks and had a look around there what a nice place with lovely big mansions over looking the sea things most of us could only dream of. Anyway we managed to get a seat on and watched the boats coming and going for an hour or so. After that we went for a walk around the old part of Poole which was excellent and we managed to get a pint in a lovely old pub called The King Charles we are planning on going back for another visit during our stay.

I had a birthday card this year showing Sandbanks on it Francis. Apparently one of the most expensive places to buy a property (was going to say house but that seems rather mundane) outside of London. Fortunately the card only showed the Sandbanks!

Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself. We enjoyed Lymington when we were last down there. If you're getting homesick for the Isle of Wight you could catch a ferry from there.smile

Ooh I've lost a post, the reply box stalled and stopped.

    Well it wasn't very interesting!

Another beautiful day here, desperate for rain too which we're reliably informed might appear at the end of the week?

Years ago, there was no way I would go on a cruise. After a lot of arm twisting administered by SWMBO, we went on one. Suffice to say, I loved it. We’re going on one in September around the Med sailing from Southampton, a two week cruise, which is nice 🙂

Can't get much better for us than where we pitched up at Cirencester site. Lovely warm reception by the holiday managers, site is pretty chocker but nonetheless peaceful. Excellent museum with Roman antiquities in the town and a good centre for visiting NT properties. Going home next weekend as I understand the annual Fairford air display is on.

Good luck with the  SA Cruises, we certainly enjoyed ours which included an overland visit to Patagonia, much to the delight of the Welsh speakers amongst us.

I know how you feel about the speed ( lack of ) on this site, Brue.

Half an hour or so I wrote a highly humourous ( I thought  ) post, clicked on 'Reply' and waited. Eventually screen went white, took so long that when it eventually returned it had been "Liked " and had a reply as well.

This has caused me to think that I've only got two ( 2 ) sleeps 'til I Vacate this seat until next month. So  I'm off for one sleep now, despite Cox & O'Briain demanding my attention.

Take care y'all,  best wishes for all, ailing or not   X X X X

We have been on a couple and enjoyed them and will probably go on more as the opportunity arises. We raided the Cruise Fund to help pay for the new motorhome so it might be a year or two before the next onewink

Family arrived yesterday teatime and we all had a lovely hour sitting in the sunshine and catching up before our evening meal. Dog loved having the run (and I mean run - she is a whippet cross after all!) of the garden and has settled in really well. So lovely to see them all. Have a great time with your family later in the week brue.

Hope your Mum soon improves tammygirl.

Persuading my OH to go on a cruise is still a work in progress ☹.

Lovely weather here. Enjoy your day everyone.

We've got a cruise booked for this autumn to celebrate our silver wedding. The trouble with cruises is that they impinge on time away in the MH.

I doubt I could ever persuade my OH onto a cruise. Claims it’s just not his thing. We have agreed to compromise on a rail tour at some point, I fancy west coast of CanadaUSA, but will probably do a European one first. Neighbour is doing rail tour to Sicily, via lots of interesting places to stop off, which appeals.

Do you get seasick at all on these big cruise ships? I am an appallingly bad sailor, daren’t even do a cross channel ferry. Having spent three solid hours heaving up and wanting to die the last time I was afloat, (bought a seriously expensive flight home) it’s something I ponder about.😕

A couple of things about cruises for those that are not sure whether they would like them. I don't know about other cruise lines but P&O offer a number of 3 and 4 days cruises which could be used as a taster cruise, some of them are quite inexpensive given that they are all inclusive except for drinks. I think Cunard also offer the option of having a meal on board whilst their ships are in Port. It would be a way of getting a feel for the ship.

As to being seasick that is a difficult one as it very much depends on the individual. Don't forget all cruise ships have full onboard medical facilities  (at a price!) You can hit rough weather as we did on our first cruise but it was reasonable comfortable and you tend to used to it. If you are feeling a bit delicate just don't sit next to someone who orders a Full English at breakfast!!!

We have been on a couple of cruises, including one from Vancouver up to Glacier Bay in Alaska when I retired. It was a brilliant experience but even that had a couple of "at sea" days when there was literally nothing  to view - no land, no wildlife, no other ships etc. There was, admittedly plenty to do on board, but to me that's not what I go on holiday for.

So we are unlikely to do any more ocean cruises, but we are going on a river cruise to the Douro in September and are really looking forward to that. smile

We did one for an anniversary, a small ship, good weather and we enjoyed it. We're free now, sadly in some respects, with less commitments so will be going off on different types of holidays and another cruise will be in the plans, but not on a big ship. The expense is a consideration plus our sea legs, it's the luck of the draw about the heaving of the oceans! We might consider the eastern sea board of Canada at some point, I don't want a long flight and a cruise can take in some interesting places without jet lag. smile

Very warm here, will have to get on with it now as have avoided being outside, a pile of washing awaits, at least it will dry quickly.

Hope all the holidays and plans are going well, we are home birds for a few weeks. smile

Mrs WN and MiL went on this cruise last year with Riviera and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not for me though. I don't have a problem with motion sickness but know that some people can be affected even when it's totally calm. MiL didn't like the voyage aspect when they went to Norway and much prefers the river cruises.

I'm probably one of those strange people who likes being at sea as it's an enforced rest, some holidays can be too much of a marathon. See the continent or bust! wink

However ask me that again later if we ever hit a force 10!! (Actually we did hit a storm in the channel once, I was forced to look at the sea due to everyone being ill around me, those waves were big!)

Brother used to be in the Royal Navy. He said he only ever had problems when he ended up back on dry land especially after a long time at sea. It usually lasted for the first hour or so.

No cruise for me thanks, going green just thinking about it! Everyone I know who has cruised raves about it but I'm not tempted one iota.

We took the ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg it appeared huge at the dockside, felt very tiny in the middle of the North Sea and even smaller in a force 4 coming back, at least it had been calm going out, but I could feel the waves hitting from different directions even then 😔 NEVER EVER EVER again.

Mrs One  always ask how I can sleep in rough weather on ferries and the answer is simple, years of being in the military teaches you to sleep any time any where.
