Glad you're starting to feel TammyG, take it easy if you can!?
We had some help in the garden today but it's hard work in the heat for anyone outside. This evening it's cooled down a bit, we handed back our daughter's dog at tea time and all is quiet and peaceful, I hope!

Yesterday my son and family went to the Great Yorkshire Show.
The Tye Trophy is an award for commercial farms across the north of England showing environmental, conservation & wildlife management. We were judged by a group of judges - the first time for the Cumbria award, and then when we won that by another group of judges for the main award. This was announced and presented at a reception at the show yesterday and we were astounded and overwhelmed to win, amongst such worthy competition.
This is the happy family. OH and I were cow/dog/cat/duck sitting at home

Sorry to hear that Husky, no doubt you'll learn more later. At least things are happening quickly.
Very warm here again, went for a walk around Stourhead this morning. A lot of visitors from abroad, nice too see people enjoying the gardens. Spotted a Hummingbird Hawkmoth in the kitchen gardens, just one lone moth whizzing along the lavender. Too fast for a photo so you have been spared another one!

Finished the glossing in the utility room today. Washing machine back in position, this time sat on a sheet of ply on top of a bit of foam 'yoga mat' . It's cut down the noise from the vibration when it's running. I can now give attention to the important stuff - getting the van ready for another trip.

Visit to the opticians this afternoon for new glasses, they didn't have any I liked when I got my eyes tested in April. My purse is now considerably lighter now.
We were warned that today we would have heavy rain and thunderstorms at 12.00, 15.00, 17.00, and 20.00. So far we've had sunshine and its been very warm.
Husky, glad that your Mum is getting sorted.

I hope all goes well for your Mum husky. Please keep us informed.
Congratulations to your family Goldie. I am sure it is the result of a lot of hard work so well deserved.
We had been 'warned' of thundery showers late afternoon and early evening - nothing yet. The garden is very disappointed.

It's been find during the last couple of days, although we've had some rain during the night for which the plants were grateful, I'm sure.
Have started on the inside cleaning/polishing of the van. No rush to complete it, just have to make sure it's done by next Wednesday.

Husky Dog glad your mum is feeling better. A mum never stops being a mum regardless of the age of the offspring or where they are in tge world π. I still find myself counting as I do things such as going up and downstairs ππ these days I do it silently π
Fingers crossed for your wife's preop and the shop sale.

Slap on the wrist HD, glad your mums feeling better.
Really busy, long day yesterday with a huge slice of luck. Picked up van from dealer drove to Thetford site, set up, drove home, left home just before 9.30pm to return to Thetford. I had passed a BMW before getting on the A11 and after about 2 miles a quick burst of blue lights, pulled into the inside lane, unmarked police car, passenger let down his window and made a sign to slow down then promptly disappeared. Guessing as we were close to police HQ it was shift change. Looking at the sat nav my speed had crept up to about 78mph.

We didn't get the promised rain at all yesterday, looking at the skies now we might well get it today. OH won't be happy as he wants to get on with outdoor work he didn't do yesterday due to the threat of thunderstorms.
A trip to Dundee for him this morning as the wood he wanted he couldn't get in Perth
at times it is very frustrating to have the DIY and timber merchants a plenty, to only find they don't have what you want or they only have 4 pieces and you want 5.
While he was out I took the opportunity (as you do) to shampoo the carpets
now walking around bare foot with doors locked.
If it doesn't rain I will have to give the grass a water as the area I reseeded is looking a bit dry. I'm also going to start polishing the caravan, staying out of OH's way 'Man at Work'
Husky, great news about your Mum
hope the shop sale and OH's hospital appointment go well.
