    Hi Nellie.smile

We're here until Friday then onwards to Hexham area. Decided to do the Red Pike walk on Friday as that seemed the best day weatherwise.

Heavy rain overnight but not bothered as it was clothes washing morning. Mrs WN says thanks to Mrs. Nell.smile After a light lunch we were able to wander up to Castle Crag. Just got back and heavens opened again.laughing

Hope the move went well. You could do with a dry spell. Seems mixed down here for the rest of the week.

Didn't meet any queues here today.  Had to pop over to Towsure at Halesowen to take back and swap a slatted table for outside the caravan.

For years we have had an extra large 140cm long slatted table.  I decided it was a good idea to downsize, now there are usually only two of us, so bought one a foot 30cm) shorter.  When I got it home realised it was dented, so took it back today after church to exchange it.

Traffic was about normal, but I know lots f the church choir have gone away - we were thin on the ground this morning.

Have a great time for all those away.  Hope the rain keeps off.

    David

Mrs N is glad that the washer's working fine, and glad that Mrs Wn is pleased with it. It is a pleasant walk down to Castle Crag, along by the river.

We had about 17hs of rain through last night and this morning but without any wind our early morning walk was a dryish one. Fortunately it had stopped by the time we were ready to start packing up and we got away dry. Was raining a bit when we got to our CL but not too badly. An early walk after lunch was completed in the dry but it has rain on and off since then. Hopefully it will be a better day tomorrow.

Hope that it stays dry for the rest of your week at Manesty and you are able to get out on the hills again.

Saturday - bike ride. OH complaining about discomfort. Yesterday a rigorous climb up a forest trail and a circular route back to top of said climb. It should have come out near the bottom but these tracks through the pines all look the same. embarassed More protestations from OH about the physical demands. Playing it safe today and going out for a little trip round the area in the MH. Hopefully no grumbles.

Think you've made a wise decision there. I'd throw in lunch or dinner for good measure. But pick your eatery carefully just in case ๐Ÿ˜‰

We'll be up in the NE again next month, nice to hear about a trip to Lindisfarne, we're doing a loop up and over that area, seeing son and family and then heading west.

Hearing about the rain Nellie's had it's bone dry here, a tiny bit of drizzle yesterday and no prospect of rain in the next couple of weeks but we need some. All the water butts nearly empty etc.

Same here brue, we had a short unexpected shower that came along just as I was winding hose from watering garden๐Ÿ˜ก

Some packing for us today, got a funeral tomorrow, not looking forward to it, but respect and support needs to be shown. Itโ€™s going to be interesting, horse drawn hearse, and Crem is halfway up a very steep hill.

We are just home from a lovely 4 nights away at Berwick Seaview C&MC site. Very relaxing weekend weather was decent so the Cadac got a lot of use. Brue Lindisfarne is great we always make a point if visiting when we are over that way. There is plenty of parking and some nice walks also there is a good pub that has a nice beer garden and they serve nice meals. We had an easy 3 hour drive home today lots of caravans out on the road. I am at a classic car club meet next weekend with the old Merc so it will probably be a couple of weeks before we are away in the van again. Hope everyone else has had a nice weekend too. Its been good to read everyones news.

Long day yesterday up at 5am and delivered Mrs One to her Scout hut. They are going to the Scout Association campsite in Poole.  I then left the storage yard at 7am and had a leisurely drive down to Sussex arriving at about 12.10.  Although a 1 oโ€™clock arrival the lovely warden said no problem come on in.  Whilst setting up my brother arrived in his MH.  Went down to see my son and DIL where we had a fantastic Indian Buffet.  In bed by 9pm totally cream crackered.

Touch wood new van seems ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒž

Moved sites today we are at a Flower camping site at Saint Romans, between Valence and Grenoble. Its in a wood on a small lake,  seems to be a few things to do around here so will get out tomorrow and see some. Waterfalls in the area so we'll do a few of them, I like waterfalls.

I had a mishap this morning with the jockey wheel, forgot to wind it up a bit before using the mover to reverse the caravan embarassed bent the wheel a bit ooops, thankfully today is my birthday so didn't get shouted at by OH.

Weather not so great here just now,  clouds building so we might get a bit of rain, its been really warm the last week so can't complain.

Good to read everyone's news, keep posting.

Many happy returns Tammygirl. Hope you don't have to spend your birthday money on a replacement!

Went into town this morning, OH too. Drove car to nearest in to the high street in our parking zone ๐Ÿ˜‰.  Still a decent walk for him. Popped into M&S for 3 food items, only 1 till with a cashier open ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ค so bit the bullet and used self scan , I'm so anti them! The usual audio is bad enough but today it was Ant & Dec's dolcite tones WHY WHY WHY?? Apparently it was to do with Britain's Got Talent I was informed. Tried not to get too wound up by the delightful machine - are you using your own bag? Yes, place in correct place, assistance needed ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ค. Scanned without incident finish & pay, insert ยฃ5 note doesn't take,  glance at screen how many bags? Mutter Mutter Mutter. Eventually note taken and change given. Off to John Lewis to get NZ $50 (ยฃ26 roughly) for my mum to put in a birthday card. Go to pay by card, card reader needed tweaking, had to get someone as cupboard outside cubicle, keys don't work. Do I have  driving licence or passport, no but OH has, he produced - has to be his card that pays ๐Ÿ˜ญ. Still can't sort keys,  have to give name and address. Find I have sufficient cash so pay that way. Don't need name and address if you pay cash bizarre! I would have thought other way round if to do with money laundering as with a card there's an electronic trail. If it's a stolen card you could give any name and address. Who knows? Who cares?

Anyway tasks completed and back to car,  OH held up well even carrying a bag of light stuff ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

Afternoon R&R in the conservatory as wind too chilly and strong to be comfortable for sitting in the garden. Still desperate for rain.

Hope folks have enjoyed the long weekend, if you got one  ๐Ÿ˜‰,  whatever you did - commiserations to those who have return to that four letter word tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜‰

Just think Bakers. 6-8 weeks ago you would have been over the moon to have trouble at pay machines being your main concern of the day!smile Perspective my dear. But I agree with you about that awful noise called Ant or is it Dec? We once had an Elvis Presley at one shop, can't remember which one.

Well done OH. Life beginning to get back to normal.

Happy Birthday TG. Why do you need to raise the jockey wheel to reverse the c'van? I never do. Hope it survived.

Ttda, we're staying at Fallowfield for a few days. Never been before and feel we would have been better suited by a local CL if one had been available but wanted to be in that area so....

BBC weather had rain all day here, Weather Bug had it coming about 15.00 so as it was dry this morning we decided to walk up Walla Crags and Ashness Bridge on a 7 mile circular walk. Got back to car about 14.30 when rain started.

We don't find BBC to be very consistent these days, don't know about everybody else. We don't use TV when away, relying on internet.

Oh how true Wherenext.  I remember longing for boring days when only the mundane tasks needed creative avoidance! I delight really in such trivial concerns ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Doesn't stop the annoyance though!

Normal life? Can I have a dictionary definition please? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Does anyone have one?

My brother announced they've sold their house and buying another, not a huge surprise as in same town as their daughter and they'll  be doing grandparent duties 3 days a week as from next month - but their daughter teaches at a school the  opposite side of the park go their current house which they've lived in for 30 ish years! Apparently my mother, who'll  be 89 this year, said oh perhaps I'll have a bungalow there too ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. She's been in our family home 63 years and when she had an notion to move 25 or so years ago dad was still with us, everywhere had neighbours ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. I rest my case!

Arrived home this afternoon after 10 fabulous days away.  CL'S  very different but both great,  and we met some lovely fellow caravanners / motorhomer's.

Caravan has been emptied, just need to hoover out the dog hairs laughing It's back  to work for me tomorrow now cry

Happy Birthday Tammygirl,  and great to hear things are going well with your OH'S  recovery Bakers2.

We have had a bit of rain tonight, we certainly need some. We walked round a few reservoirs while away and the water levels were very low.

We've had a much better day weather wise, with only the odd spot of rain and enough sunshine to be able to have a short sit out by the van after our day out. Firstly we had a gentle stroll to the top of the Bin of Cullen, accompanied by the calls of both Cuckoos and Willow Warblers, before heading onto near the coast. Walked down to to see the ruins of Findlater Castle, one that could well have featured in Outlander, before doing bits of the coastal path. Site has been full since we arrived, 4 caravans and 1 M/H.

Happy birthday TG, hope that you are able to manage the rest of your trip with the damaged jockey wheel.

Good news about your day out B2. Glad to hear that OH is slowly improving.

Hope that the van is living up to expectations OP. Have a good time down in Sussex.

Glad that your trip went well, H&T. You are all welcome to some of the rain that we've been having....in fact please take it away!

Spoke too soon as it's just started to rain, just right for our last walk out!!yell

A bright and sunny start to the day here, 13c in the shade and no breeze. Last night's rain was a shower if it's added a couple of mm's to the waterbutt that's it ๐Ÿ˜ข. A decent overnight rain would have done wonders for the garden not to mention the crops! I'm not one who likes the rain but it is necessary and overnight would be ideal ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Glad you had a lovely  break Helenandtrevor, hopefully not too long before your next trip.

Nellie I wish you dry walks today and would be grateful if you could transport the fallen rain here ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

Milliehull I hope the workmen, persons, move further from your house today.

Sorry I've forgotten other bits I was to add embarassed so don't feel hurt or snubbed ๐Ÿ˜‚ but enjoy the day however you spent it.

OH has first of 10 cardio rehab classes today so that will be interesting! I'm chaffeur again but what to do for the 1.5 hours of freedom?? Naturally you need to deduct travel time from and back to hospital so can't be too indulgent ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

We had rain too, a few hours after OH decided to use the hose pipe and water everything. I think there is some forecast tomorrow when we hope to go to the Bath & West show (will have to re-think that if the rain is heavy due to the prospect of mud but I think the ground is too dry to turn into a quagmire just now.)

Hope TammyG had a good birthday. B2 you sound busy and it's good to hear you've both been out and about, I hope the re-hab classes go well for your OH. And JVB, sorry to hear about your friend, posted whilst I was writing this.

Helen, that must have been nice break on the CLs. Apologies if I've missed people, just catching up before going out. smile
