Ooh dear Triky, hope that gets sorted asap.
JVB, why do you need your cards updating for the discount, it should be automatic? We had a lovely welcome on our recent C&CC site, no queue, "where would we like to go" took ourselves to the requested pitch facing the sea and settled in, told we could pitch anyway we liked, even sideways on for the views. It really is that simple especially if you know a site in advance.

Its not you have to have them "stickered" on ccc site, with proof of age, I had my driving licence, but no proof for OH (she could not walk that far)but I had a photo on my phone which was accepted
I hope you get sorted Triky not a good advert for the garage

Freddy, sorry for delay but travelling day today. If you still fancy going up a good small'un then you can walk out from Keswick (park at the former Railway Station) then along the old railway before turning up past the old Bobbin Mills and onto Latrigg, a mere 1000 footer but still worth the climb. Back to Keswick for a well earned brew. About 5 miles I think. Or take the bus out of Keswick to Grange or the clubs Borrowdale site and walk back to town alongside the lake, about 4-5 miles.
I've started having feet problems as well, arthritis with the odd bout of Gout, so sympathise. Getting most of my walking in in the next few years just in case.
CS, we got the discount as well as the half price offer. MW usually pays for our membership fee.
Triky, sue them!!!

An easy drive up to Borrowdale site. However we were just driving slowly through Grange village (those in the know will understand the slowly bit) and a passenger in a car had just got out and on seeing us slammed her door shut. Unfortunately her partner was just in the process of climbing out on her side as he had parked against a hedge. Smack!!! Head first. We tried hard to keep a straight face and last saw them in the rear view mirrors having a frank exchange of views.
It's alwys fun driving to the Borrowdale site. Managed to nab a decent pitch as well. Awning up, shopping in Keswick done, hills for the next couple of days at least.

Second CCC site we visited after joining, we had booked with the ACR rate so they asked for proof....we showed our bus passes.....then they put a sticker on the cards and said they would report to HQ that proof had been shown and that next new cards would have the right to the discount on the card......which they did.
First site did not ask for proof....probably took one look at us and could see we were ancient.....second site said that was very naughty of them!

Great to read everyone's news.
TDA, sorry to hear about your Mum, good she's on the mend. Its an age thing Mums doing well now and back to her usual self
WN, glad you have good weather and you are having good walks.
NTH, sorry your weather isn't so great just now, glad we are here
Bakers2, great you and OH had a good day out, just what you both needed
We moved today away from the coast, we are now on a lovely site near the Pont du Gard, its a big site in a woodland setting on the river. We have a nice pitch in a sunny glade but with good dappled shade for the van. Temperature today 26c here, hotter than at the coast but we are not getting battered by the wind, just a nice breeze, its been getting hotter the last few days but the nights are still cool so sleeping is fine. Tomorrow we will get out on the bikes to explore, the Pont is only 800m away do that will be our first stop.
Its not a BH here this weekend, that's next weekend then followed by 2 weeks holidays for parts of Germany (Bavaria) will have to be careful were we go then
AD, didn't realise OH's injury was so bad, hope she recovers soon. Spanish hospitals are not as bad as some folk think, Phil had great treatment when we were in Salamanca a few years ago.

I’ll not spread it around cos I don’t believe it, after all, we are constantly reminded that everything is hunky dory with continental vans and all things over there. I’m guessing the excuse will be made that Brexit caused it🤔😂😤

Tammy, nice to hear you've run into some decent weather. Mrs.WN did an oil painting of a close up of some the arches of the Pont du Gard with sunlight shining through. I have to say it is one of the best things she has done and I insisted on having it framed. She would be embarrassed if she knew I was writing this.
but every time someone mentions it I immediately think of the painting and am transported back there. Nearby Uzes is pretty.
Must post a photo of the painting when we eventually get home but don't tell her or else I'm in trouble.

It's been a bit of a week here. Cadent have decided that the gas pipes in our road need replacing as some are very old. One side of our road is completely dug up with temporary traffic lights to control the traffic (right outside our house!). The noise is horrendous - a pile driver and a jack hammer going day. They started at 6.30 this morning
. They are going to turn our gas off at some point as well but no idea as to when yet. In the midst of all this someone trying to turn their car round in the middle of he works managed to reverse into our neighbours front brick wall and completely demolished it.
Sorry to hear about your Mum's fall TDA but pleased to hear that she is now coping OK. Also pleased to hear that your Mum is now feeling better Tammygirl and that your holiday is going well.
Your day out sounds wonderful Bakes2. It must have given you both a real lift to the spirits. I hope you are enjoying the recent good weather.
Best wishes to your OH Another David. I hope the plaster comes off soon.

Nell we went to Brodie castle some years ago and Brodie of Brodie was one of the guides. Had a really interesting conversation with him.
If it was Ninian that was your guide I'm sure that it was a very interesting conversation, OP. It must also have been a good few years ago, as he died at 90 in 2003.

Fairly uneventful day, the first week of DD's 3 day weeks as she has so many holiday days to use up by the end of June.
She was in her office on Monday, working from home on Tuesday, back in the office on Wednesday, and now off till Monday.
She has quite a bit on at the moment at work, so will go into the office next Tuesday.
Today we went to look at landscaping materials, mainly slabs, which was interesting, she has now found something she likes. So now we have the details of the various patio packs on offer, we need to firm up design decisions and set out the area to get accurate sizes so we know what to order. Looks like they are looking at at least a £1500 bill for materials to do the main area discussed plus the area on the other side, which is a bit smaller.
After that we picked up Callum from nursery and then went to Braehead, an out of town shopping centre, where she was meeting up with school friends for lunch. We two had a list, so went to Ikea for lunch and purchases, then picked them up later.
Timetable for finishing that new door ready to hang was therefor shot to bits, so may hopefully get it ready tomorrow.

There you go, we agree again. All others are imitations and we won't even mention the G word😀
You've been way down west then.

That’s very true. I seem to live amongst Brummies and South East folk. Can’t blame them for wanting to escape I suppose.

We finished picking up grass yesterday, so 1st cut silage is in the pit (rolled and sealed). There’s still a bit of tidying up to do, then this afternoon we have a school visit. Pond dipping I think. My daughter in law is a part time teacher and does wonderful things on these visits.
We now have a new worker (previous one retired after 47 years - no stamina!) and he works alternate weekends. So we take turns with our son and get a weekend a month off. it’s our turn and it’s worked out right for us.
We are not going away - just Morecambe tonight (Merry Hell gig), and Ulverston tomorrow night (Martin Simpson gig). Then sleep in on Sunday. Not as exciting as some, but I’m excited!
