Can indeed. Not Club now, but an ex CL that has grown. Cliff Farm which is just off the Helmsley to Pickering road, far enough away to lose the road noise, in Sinnington. It’s one of our Winter bolt holes, has lovely showers, loos, little laundry, honesty freezer. Easy access to everything on NYM and east coast.

Here’s another one, we haven’t stayed, but visited the Farm shop yesterday, and the site looks very nice. Farm shop is excellent, lots of different things. Not far from Helmsley, about 10 minutes further along the road. Think it is a CS, so you might need membership for this one.

Good drive down to Agde today, weather nice and sunny.

We are trying a different site here this time, its just a bit further along the river from the one we usually stay at. Checked it out last October, its more open with smaller trees so plenty of blue skies and much easier to get a satellite signalwink swimming pool, decent sanfacs and good sized pitches, free wifi all over the site, not bad for 14€ a night even got 7 for 6 deal on, can't be bad.

H&T, hope you have a good holiday.

WN, hope all goes well with MIL and you manage to get away ok.

Moulesy, Wortley hall is lovely, our son and family live in Penistone, so its one we use in winter if visiting, if good weather we use Gunthwaite farm at Upper Denby as its got great views and just a bit closer to sons place.

Best wishes for all elderly relatives. We are on countdown now to Mid Wales with Mum, she’s loving this going away lark at the moment.

Ttda, we recently stayed at a CL, Furnace Farm, about 6 miles south of Machynlleth and they had a bungalow that they hire out. Unfortunately I've lost the details that I wrote down! yell We didn't check it out as we were only there for a short time but I'm sure the owners would provide details if you wanted. I've put a review on their CL page.

Thanks TG. Looks like MiL should be ok as new meds working fine and her balance is a lot better. Tomorrows appointment is just a follow up and Mrs WN will be there to prompt as needed.smile

Nothing definitive, OP. Haven't booked anywhere but planning on working our way down to Titisee and then on to Friedrichshafen on Lake Konstanz. Won't know where I'm going till I get there. wink

Certainly not  a  sign or six to miss, Freddy surprised

The last time I was there a coach of Geriatrics had broken down by the right-hander going up. Occupants had to get out & walk up, while the driver & his sidekick were unloading all luggage & carrying it up themselves. Two Police cars in attendance & guiding the traffic quite happily -- letting the driver etc get the days exercise !!  sealed

Sounds like somewhere to visit, just not with a caravan in tow 😀 Is there parking (space) on top?

There's parking and a visitors centre too, Freddy. Good walking in either direction, south to the glider station, and north along the Cleveland Way.

Where are you coming from when you're going to Cliff Farm, Freddy.  If you're coming from the A1(M) direction you can turn off at junction 45 onto the A64 York bypass and follow it all the way thro' to Malton, then the A169 to Pickering and west along the A170 to Sinnington. You'll miss Sutton Bank and the caravan diversion that way.

Another fine sunny warm day, the 3rd in a row at Dornoch, with the temperature above 20 C again. Yesterday we walked through Loch Fleet Nature Reserve to Littleferry from Golspie, and today after stocking up at Lidl for food and Asda for fuel at Tain we went up to Aldie Burn and walked some of the trails there.

We are now back from our lovely 6 day break to Houghton Mill. No Wi-Fi except my 4G so couldn't post much  We couldn't have been luckier with the weather.  We had a great day at Wicken Fen and saw some Great Spotted Woodpeckers on the feeders - such beautiful birds - and a hobby or two flying overhead when we went on the boat trip.  We also had some lovely walks along by the river and over the meadows.  Unfortunately we were witness to a distressing incidence on Monday evening when walking by the river.  A guy just in front of us was walking with is back lab (off the lead) when the lab spotted a german shepherd (on the lead) with his 2 owners coming towards us. The lab took off like a rocket and attacked the german shepherd and was really quite nasty, the lab's owner couldn't catch it or control it and the owner of the german shepherd put his foot out to try and fend it off his dog and the owner of the lab went berserk and knocked him to the ground shouting 'don't kick my dog'. He had a stick in his hand (presumably to throw for his lab) which also caught the other guy in the face. Luckily the german shepherd's owner was OK although very shaken. The other guy managed to catch his dog and put it on the lead and ran off and wouldn't give his name. We chatted to the couple with the german shepherd for a while and made sure they were all OK and gave them our name and contact details as they were going to report it to the police. I must admit it shook us up a bit. The german shepherd's owner has since been in touch to say that the wardens at the campsite saw the lab's owner park his car in the car park at Houghton Mill (he was quite distinctive as he was wearing camouflage gear) and he has his car registrant number so we await to see if we hear any more.

You look as though you have had a really great holiday moulesy.

I hope you enjoy your longer break Helen.

I hope all others away or about to go away have a great time.

I’ll be staying at Troutbeck Head before moving on to Cliff Farm, so I guess I’ll be heading south on the A1M. Your directions sound fairly straightforward, so will probably try that, thanks 👍

Glad you had a good time Millie hope it wasn’t too stressful having to watch n inconsiderate bully of a dog owner. Wonder if the owner trained the dog to be vicious.

Arrived in Shropshire on Wednesday, lovely campsite.  Long day yesterday, left the van at 0545hrs and drove over to the Dovey  Estuary for bird watching.  Having to rough it a bit as van is virtually empty so having to use the pubs for most meals.  🍺🍺

I am sure you can survive the hardship of having to use pubs for most of your meals OP. laughing

It was a pity as the black lab looked as though it could be a nice dog and with the right owner who would train it properly it would probably be a very good dog.

We left Wortley Hall CL this morning and are now at Kingsbury Water Park C&CC site. Yesterday we walked two stretches of the Trans-Pennine Trail, a former railway line now a very pleasant walking/cycling path.

The CL is well worth a visit if you're in the area. The pitches are small, but bordered by hedges for privacy - almost like being "over there" from what I can gather!

Last night we had a stunning sunset just over the wall of the Hall's walled garden.
