What are you all up to

No sun here either Millie, quite damp and gloomy. OH took me out and I bought some plant seeds. At least the packets are full of promise! Hope you have a lovely time with the family, I expect you will be busy.
Interesting to read Nellie's posts about the NE as we are still hoping to visit there later. I can remember staying at Marske years ago with my parents on one of their many "walking" holidays.

My god-daughter has popped round with my birthday present. A lovely promise of spring.

Sounds Good DD.

Gosh it's quiet on here today. Where is everybody?

Panic not Millie. I'm here.
Sitting in kitchen, waiting to move the roast root veg around then in 20 minutes pour over a sauce made from juice of an orange, wholegrain mustard, a little balsamic vinegar and a good dollop of honey. The sausages are roasting away with some of the sauce on them.
That's about as interesting as my day has been. No complaints mind you.
Hope everybody had a more interesting day.

Keeping busy!
Working my way through this list of "little jobs" DD has drawn up. The only problem is that she keeps adding more things to it.
And some are not that little!
"Day off" tomorrow as I have my woodturning club in the afternoon, but OH will no doubt have her list ready. Plus we have to sort out the caravan for going for its service next week.
Coming up later this week is a visit to the dentist, a visit to the doc for my shingles vaccination, and a trip to DD's old flat to meet the heating engineer for the gas safety inspection.

That sounds a good evening meal WN. OH is busy in the kitchen baking some gammon for ours. I will have to tell him about your sauce, it sounds really good.
Busy as ever KjellNN. You must enjoy it really otherwise you would find an excuse not to do it.
. Why do you have to go to your daughter's old flat to meet the gas engineer? I would have thought it would be the present owners' responsibility?

Oh I see. I thought it was the property that your daughter and SIL had just sold. Sorry.

Off to the airport shortly to fetch the N. Ireland family
. It's going to be a busy week.

Been up to "Lunnun" to deliver No 1 daughter's 40th birthday present and take the assembled populace out for a meal. Fairly straightforward run although I'm not very enthusiastic about the narrow lanes on the Kingston bypass. It would be a tight fit with those new 8ft caravans.

Arrived at airport to collect family an hour early as I misread the time.
OH not a happy bunny as he says the parking will now cost a small fortune

Just checked out and started our motorhome, ought to have changed wheel/tyre positions but didn't as rear Offside up in paving slab to allow water run off. Not sure able to do without another pair of eyes. That can happen at some point.
Got my cataract assessment again today. Time, 4.30pm, seemed ok when I booked but now makes visiting unlikely as 40 mins to Basildon for 2pm, park 😤😢😂, and back again! Provided the clinic not running too late might catch a glimpse of him before end of visiting at 7.30pm - I'll also have chauffeur so can cut out parking element!
Slight improvement in OH again yesterday, all drains and probes removed, hoping to move him out of ITU today. Still not spoken to his consultant so hoping to book something with him in a mo. CT scan shows some damage to brain the stroke Dr said yesterday, but I'd been told on Saturday it didn't. So need clarification on so much, stroke Dr was lovely but hard to understand and I was stunned too! He can do all the tasks just the very fine motorskills slower. I thought grip etc much improved day on day. Son isn't overly concerned. I do hope it's not cos did triple not quad bypass! They didny do DVT either and I want to understand why. Too late to change anything now.

Millie, that reminds me of " An Heroic Law-enforcer " in one of my early/mid 1950 comics { Just don't ask which one tho' } A chappie called 'Red Star Roberts' who had three or four car numbers on an electrically rotatable block. He'd got the right idea for the confusing of Electronic Number-Plate Recognition Systems.

Arrived back this morning from a few days in the Peak District. Had a fab time, weather was lovely too.
Met up with eldest son and his girlfriend who were also having a short break in the area.
An inconsiderate member failed to turn up for their booked stay at the CL, but it did mean we could tag on an extra night.
Bakers2 pleased to read that Mr Bakers2 is on the mend, hopefully you have managed to talk to the consultant today.
Millie, hope you enjoy your time with your NI family, the weather is looking good so you should be able to get out and about.

That sounds nice Helen, glad you enjoyed it and could get together with your son and girlfriend.
Hope Millie's family arrived ok and the car park didn't break the bank.
Spoke to son in NE who is inundated with visitors for the half term break...hoping we might get a look in at some point. But at least we've booked a break up there in early June!
I hope B2 managed to get the eye appointment and the visit sorted. Do hope there is better news about your OH. No doubt as soon as he is back on the wards the physios will pounce.
Going to see a Chinese New Year Celebration tomorrow, a bit late but it should be fun and colourful.

Glad to hear Mr B2 is making progress. Millie hope you have a good time with your NI family.

Today it stars all over again.

Good to hear that OH is making progress, B2. Hope that the cataract assessment went ok and that you made it back in time to see him,and the consultant too.
Hope that the flight from NI arrived on time and didn't add even more onto the parking charges, millie.
We had an easy run down to Whitby yesterday morning to the CL we didn't manage to get to last February due to the "Beast from the East". Large flat H/S pitches with a super view all the way down to Whitby, and an off-road dog walk direct from the site.....just as we like it.
Drove over to Runswick and walked the Cinder Path north towards Whitby. We dropped down to Boggle Hole, had our picnic lunch on the beach, and returned to the car by the Cleveland Way past the old Alum Works. Weather was fine but cloudier than yesterday, with a cool breeze.
