    Thanks brue.

Nice photo, I thought from the description in my bird app and on the RSPB boards that they were Kittiwakes. Although apart from the black legs they don't seem a lot different the herring gull.

It was an easy drive down yesterday to Belle View Fm, CL near Chester. Glad that I followed the directions in the book as coming off the A41 from the north is not great with a caravan on tow, it would be better if in a M/H.
Site is nice and flat with stacks of room, 5 H/S pitches and 4 grass ones so lots of choise and also trees offering shade at different times of the day if one needed it. It is one that could be used in any sort of weather I think.

Today we went to Cheshire Oaks, about 7 mls away, to meet up with our daughter and a bit of retail therapy. We came away with a pair of trainers and a top apiece, and some more genuine Belgium Chocolates which daughter brought back with her from her latest trip abroad. It was great to see her again before she heads off to Luxembourg and Brno over the next couple of weeks.

Tomorrow we're off to Neston to meet up with Wherenext & Mrs WN for a walk and pub lunch....more catching up to do. Just hope that it's not too hot or we shan't be walking too far.

Just catching up with the last couple of day's posts so up to speed fully yet.

Thanks OP and others for the good wishes.

    Congratulations to your daughters, Corners.

Glad that you had a good trip, B2. These appointments are a nuisance, upsetting all ones touring.wink

It sounds like a lovely day nth. How lovely to meet  up with your daughter. Say hello to Mr and Mrs WN. Are you going to visit Chester? It is a lovely city. I had a friend who lived in Chester  (now sadly  deceased) and visited many times. You can  walk all round the top of the city walls. The zoo is one of the best we have ever visited. Wonderful  cathedral as well. Enjoy your stay.

Good luck with your prospective buyer Husky.

Thanks millie. Will say Hi to WN's for you. Won't be going to Chester this trip as we move on to Ombersley on Thursday. This site would suit anyone who wants to cycle into the City as there's a traffic free route of about 2.5 mls a mile or so from the here along a quiet road initially. In fact I think that it would make a decent walk. The Zoo is also only about 4 mls away.

Its been a busy day here today. I got up early and went a cycle in to Shanklin which was a lovely 15 mile round trip on mostly traffic free routes. After a quick breakfast we went to meet up with my sister and her family at the IOW Zoo which was very good and you get to see the animals up close our favourites being the tigers what wonderful creatures and the talk given by the keeper was very informative the zoo also has a little on site cafe which proved a handy place to get some shade and grab a coffee. On our way back to the van we stopped at a lovely little pub and had dinner out in ther beer garden. Went a walk around the site with sister and her dog tonight it looks like the place is gradually filling up

No, I'm definitely not on commission, Kj! I'm paid the hourly rate of £7.83 per hour which is the minimum wage that I'm legally entitled to and I get 80 pence per drop in cash which also goes on my payslip as non-taxable cash paid to me in store on a daily basis. It is all done by the company on PAYE which takes away the tax headache from me. That's what I love about this company. I get my net pay into my bank account and they take care of all other financial matters concerning, tax, National Insurance etc.  No doubt they have their own wages department and accountants to do all that work. This a hundred times better than dinner2go! Long may I live and keep good enough health to be able to continue working for this company!

It may seem like that, brue but it is what I am up to each day and even more so since they increased my hours of work. Last week I worked six days and only had one day off which made my job even more relevant to this thread!

Airconditioning is what you need if you want to reduce humidity, Milliehull. It has worked wonders for our comfort right through this hot spell and would work wonders for your comfort too. It's your choice! We care about our comfort which is why we chose to have it as an added extra installed in our caravan, when we first bought it. It was  all fitted and ready for use as soon as we took delivery in June 2015. At a cost of only £2000, I think it was the best investment I made, in my life! My wife and I are comfortable day and night regardless of the climate!

Thanks, cariadon. No we didn't take a picnic with us because until we got there, we didn't know there was a picnic area. The brown tourist sign showed it a viewpoint. We will next time!

To answer your question, there's certainly a lot to do in Brighton which may take up all of your time, depending on how long you are there for. However, if you do have some spare time, it would be worth a visit.

By the time we got on the boat safari, it was too hot to enjoy it, which was a pity because the warden gave some interesting information about dragonflies and damsel flies amongst other wildlife topics some of which I missed because the heat kept making me doze off! So after the boat safari, we had an incecream each in the tea room to cool down before getting back into our airconditioned car and its comfort once again. This was followed by the rest of the afternoon chilling in our airconditioned caravan!

Is your new phone the smart variety with a camera. If so a picture or two of places like Mill Hill would be nice. Despite being fairly rubbish in other respects, posting photos on this site, even with resizing, is fairly straightforward.

Blue sky and sun from the start here today. Although because of the cool breeze from the sea it should be pleasant enough for walking. However, some folk seem to forget this does not mean the UV is not an issue. Seen a few slightly scorched individuals.

We will be down that area for about 5 or 6 weeks so any photos would be good, and other ideas.

Take time to enjoy other wise it could be like the saying  "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" is a proverb. It means that without time off from work, a person becomes both bored and boring.

Looks like a Fulmer, think the beak gives it away.  Kittiwakes have yellowish beaks.  We have lots of Kittiewakes breeding down here, a lot of them both roosting and nesting on the Sizewell nuclear power station cooling water outfalls.

Yes but you said you were suffering from the humidity and no doubt feeling tired and lethargic with difficulty sleeping at night because of the heat. So I'm simply reminding you that there's a solution. Summer temperatures are going to continue getting hotter for lengthier periods of time because of global warming. We are no longer getting English summers. What we are getting now are tropical temperatures here in UK with the risk of sunburn, skin cancer and heat stroke. So you need to think about that and get some aircon sorted before it's too late!

Enjoying a great stay here at Woodville CL - plenty of walks direct from the site and more within a short drive. Going to attempt to climb Earls Hill which is directly behind the site and looks quite challenging this morning. Spent yesterday at NT Attingham Hall - not the most interesting of houses as it turned out but very nice grounds with walks through the woodland and deer park. No Wi-Fi here so relying on 4G to post. Have a good day everyone. smile

    https://globalnews.ca/news/258330/top-5-health-problems-associated-with-air-conditioning/

Years of being in the middle and far east have left me with some of the above.  Much prefer a fan gently moving the air around or even open windows.

Traditionally the summer has been the time that we make power saving and cut emissions, if follow MM's advice that will no longer be the case.

£2000 on an a/c, that would equate to something like 130 nights out in the van which we much prefer.laughing

Exactly what I was reading and they are quoting for a larger area than a caravan. and have said before, aircon is not suitable for everyone.

And us ladies of certain age often suffer night sweats and sleeplessness that no Aircon can help.
