Yes, cariadon. This morning we went to the bank to deposit the drop money and tips from the last few days and I enjoyed seeing the resultant boost of funds in my bank account as a result!

After that, we went on a sight-seeing car journey to Mill Hill Nature Reserve in Shoreham. It was a lovely spot with a picnic area and magnificent views across the South Downs National Park and the coastline. There's a high bridge that crosses over the A27 to take you there. We'd never been there before so thoroughly enjoyed it!

This afternoon, we plan to go on a boat safari at WWT Arundel.

Yesterday it rained - proper rain. The first we've had for over a month. It was only 0.24 inches, but enough to leave puddles in the yard and freshen the grass a bit.

We cut some fields for silage last week, but the crop was about half of what it should be. We've left some fields to grow a bit more. We know of farmers who have no grazing grass and are feeding their first cut, and have nothing to cut. It has not been just the lack of rain, but the drying wind.

We can very excited about a cloud.

One advantage of the dry ground is that we can plough and reseed our wettest field. Rushes are taking over so we are spreading hull muck, ploughing and reseeding (and crossing our fingers). Being organic we don't spray them.

The screen shot below shows the rainfall for the past 21 days (sorry it's a bit small but I've cropped it from our weather station analysis screen.

    And grass starting to grow

Ignore the words "average daily windspeed" - cropped too little.

Much cooler now, just 25c. Cloudy but we've lost the humidity and stickiness thank goodness.

    Off for relaxing reflexology ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Yes the humidity has gone here as well.  I have much more energy than recently.  I spent the morning on Cathedral Welcomer duty so it was nice and cool in there anyway.  We had lots of lovely visitors today so the morning flew by.  I do love meeting people from all over the world - S. Africa, Spain, Germany and Poland today amongst others. Luckily the Supervisor that I am on duty with is Spanish so can chat away to all the visitors who come from Spain to visit Katherine of Aragon's grave.

Goldie how are your cattle managing for feed?  I keep looking at the fields round here and there is no grazing at all as the fields are all crisp and brown.

Sorry brue !     I cannot say that the P stuff really  interests me that much, just thought some time spent on research might  help cut down on the adverts!

Today we have had both strong sun and grey clouds, but no rain as yet.  We did have quite a bit of the wet stuff on Sunday, so the garden enjoyed that.

This morning OH was at the dentist for 2 small fillings, so lunch had to be delayed till she could better feel what her lips were doing.  She was there at 12 and is only now back to normal!   Afterwards we did a little shopping.

DD still has not heard whether their house purchase will be finalised tomorrow, but has anyway sent the required  funds to her solicitor to avoid any  unnecessary delays.

The people who viewed her present house last week have been in touch to say that they did like the house,  but that it is possibly too far from the University, so they are continuing their seach meantime.  Knowing  the area well, we know that they will not find a house with a garden and the same space inside, close to the university, for the same price, so a flat would be their only option.

The agents had also been in touch to say they have another viewer booked for this Thursday afternoon, so we will be going down there tomorrow to do a few bits and pieces for her.

Sounds like you're enjoying your post, Millie. I didn't know about Katherine of Aragon's grave being there. Must pay a visit when next in the area.

More bike hunting this morning and awning hunting this afternoon. The fun never stops.laughing

Met our new neighbour this afternoon. Other lot disappeared yesterday when we were in Bury without ever telling us when they were going. We must have upset them sometime, although as we're hardly here I don't know when. People are still a strange concept to me.undecided

That's 2 new neighbours this year. Maybe it is us.

One might be after a 'gap' year and the other 's degree was accounting and finance and her interests lie that way. She admits herself that she is very high maintenance in make up and clothes!

They certainly ring the changes with their sculptures but that is a rebuild of one thought to have been torched.

DD just rang again, solicitor still has not heard whether the surveyor wants to set a lower valuation due to the unknown coal mine entrance.  They are hoping for some word tomorrow, but the lender is now saying that they also want to wait until the surveyor has reconsidered before releasing the funds, so any handover will likely be Thursday at the earliest.

Meantime yet another viewer for the present  house has been booked in.  They are unable to come on Thursday so requested tomorrow afternoon, so we will need an even earlier start than planned tomorrow if we are to get all the chores done in good time.

it will be a relief once this  house is sold, but of course there will then be even more to do.......packing, lots of dismantling, and no doubt even more cleaning.

Once a sale has been agreed they will be able to move to the new place as soon as they have that ready.

It is going to be tight if we are to fit in our next trip, it may be that  we will need to cancel that trip so that there will be plenty of time for everything.  Only the ferry is booked, so no great drama.

Enjoyed a great day at the Welsh Wildlife Centre near Cardigan, can highly recommend if anyone is in the area, dogs allowed too. Great trails, lovely views and plenty of hides, saw a heron catch what looked like an eel for lunch and saw my first kingfisher so well pleased.smile  An excellent free day out only cost ยฃ3 parking.

Thinking of heading to New Quay, fish and chips and a bit more Dolphin watching now! smile

Did you visit Cardigan and the Castle, you can walk into the town from the wild life centre.. There is so much to explore. If you travel to Aberystwyth and take the A44 to Llangurug, at Bwlch Nant yr Arian you will see Red Kites feeding at 3pm daily. There's hundreds of them.

Glad you had a wonderful day, This weather is ideal for picnicing, did you buy a ready made one or make your own. Is it somewhere we should visit when we visit Brighton in October?  Did you see many wildlife? You love the boat safari, suppose the wildlife and view changes with the seasons.

Yes do come to Peterborough Cathedral Wร‘. Not only do we have Catherine of Aragon but we also had Mary Queen of Scots for 25 years until her son had her moved to Westminster Abbey when he  became King. We still comemerate her grave. We  also have the only surviving Medieval painted wooden ceiling dated to 1230 and much more. smile

I must 2nd milliehull. Peterborough cathedral is lovely, must visit again as I didn't know about the wooden ceiling. Will try to time a visit for a Tuesday morning.

Also I love the butter market and the parish church. Not to mention steam trains and walks oh and the river etc etc.

Was hoping to be away longer working our way westwards from Peterborough,  but I discovered my reflex appointment for today on my phone calendar - I hadn't put it on the house calendar ๐Ÿ˜ฒ plus mum's appointment has come through. As I want to visit Fotheringhay Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was held and died.

So much of the UK to visit, so many calls on my time without work ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Steve, thanks, those are really good photos, the Gannets on the cliff looks like studded jewels! Yes, the other birds are Kittiwakes, here's a pic I took of one on Shetland, a solitary bird on the ground rather than on the cliffs.

If you walk over towards the fish factory in New Quay, you might get a better view of the dolphins, or climb higher towards the coastal path, other lovely seaside towns / villages is Aberporth and Llangrannog.

What site are you staying on?
