Yes, that's always a worry with £50 notes. However, if it did turn out to be a forgery, the customer address is on the receipt so it would be possible to go back to the customer, return the £50 note to him and ask him to pay in a different way, or ask the customer to phone the shop to make a card payment.
On one occasion, the customer told the shop in adavnce that he only had a £50 note, so the manager gave me extra money for the float before leaving the shop and a security pen to check the note before accepting it. Yes, it seems they are still paper ones like the £20 note.

Hi, Metheven, we too returned to the mainland yesterday. Not home yet though.

I’m sure you will have had the better weather, Metheven, but it was a fantastic experience nonetheless👍🏻. It’s good to hear you had a great time. Home on Thursday.

Lovely weather here. We have just returned home from a nice 3 night stay at Moffat C&CC site. It was the classic car show weekend so there was a buzz about the town and the site was full. On Saturday we went to watch the cars parade around the town and yesterday we attended the actaul show which as usual was brilliant and well attended. Not saw any rain for almost a week think we will BBQ steaks tonight. Got back after an easy 1 hour 45 min tow caravan parked in its space on the drive way ready for the next trip out which will hopefully be Friday as we plan a 'local' site for a couple of days.

Don't believe all you read on ' overthere '
on the whole it was good but we had our fair share of torrential rain along with thunder and lightning. Caravan charging unit gave up the ghost half way through but managed to get Red Pennant to source and supply, had it delivered to site and fitted it myself. It's still working so must have done something right

Ah, but we had Storm Hector which was very interesting😀. This could turn into a who had the worst storm debate!🤣
Glad you managed to replace the charger.

Lovely sunny day her in MK, depending on what termometre you look at 29C.
We have both been supporting the NHS today. I had two injections in my left knee, one a pain killer and the other a steroid. Apparently physio's can't mix them but doctors can. Not particularly pleasant but will make a judgement on the results!!! Margaret was one of those ladies "missed" by the NHS for breast screening so she had her appointment this afternoon, out the back of a big Tesco store in MK, no Clubcard points though!!!

Ah, this county learned a very hard lesson in the mid 90's. A lot of investment means that water can be piped all around Yorkshire nowadays, so the risk of drought in certain areas isn't as bad as it used to be. Still need to be conservative with usage though, we might need to sell some elsewhere........tha' nus! Owt t' mek a few bob...... got to feed t' ferrets.......

19C when we set off at 9:00 this morning and got up to 21C by the time we got home an hour later. That's the end of our 10 week trip.
After spending half an hour of pulling up the Marestails that have swamped our front garden, where we store the van, parked up and all cleared out. All the washing done and dry by mid afternoon. Just have to start cleaning the van and the car ready for our next time out, in 3 weeks time, now.

The squeezing of the pixels into a smaller pic for the site helps greatly Nells👍🏻. It was my pleasure-any time😊

I too have made good use of the NHS today. Which proved to be a day of coincidences 😉. Went to Homerton hospital as I was recommended a particular podiatrist surgeon. My late mother in law spent her last working years there, she had been matrons secretary at Hackney hospital for years and moved over when it was opened in 1986. Arrived with time to spare so good walk around OH old stomping ground. Checked out the house he grew up in - still the same privet hedge and front door, nicely kept over the 30 years since in law's sold it. Just standing in the shade when the owner returned, same people who bought from in law's so had a chat with her.
Saw the consultant, he remarked on my postcode as he lives in same postcode. Turns out he lives nextdoor to friends! He asked who suggested the podiatrist surgeon, his wife works with the podiatrist i see in her other practice 😲😲😲😲.
Very good journey time and a new overground station opened up to serve the hospital. OH said it would have made his commute for his first job so much easier 😂jolly warm and I'm so glad I gave up commuting years ago 😲.
Just had wonderful video call with youngest granddaughter who's 2 on 26th, already is in NZ. She's on great form, very swift as it was 0745 she dressed and cards opened her sister strolled through about 0755, all need breakfast and daughter starts work 0830. Guess girls will eat brekki in the car on the way. No drop off as they're at her learning centre 😉.
Being really lazy now after hot day out in London so action stations tomorrow to prepare for our trip Thursday. Including making birthday cake for son 😲😲😲 and blood test and elderly care. Best go to bed now and start afresh early - but not as early as [Deleted User User] 😲😲😲

Ps to the above. I didn't see the recommended podiatrist surgeon as I discovered after making numerous appointments with him that were changed at the last minute! That he is not taking on new NHS patients so given another name for the clinic, only to be seen by the chap I saw today.

Yesterday we took possession of the land we bought at auction 4 weeks ago. We didn't let the grass grow under our feet and cut about half of it for silage. It was so hot (30 degrees) the grass wilted quickly so we began carting it in last night.

Great news Goldie. Literally make hay while the sun shines 😂😂.
I bet you've all been planning like crazy for the day and praying the weather holds so you didn't miss out. That would have been so sickening.
May you get many more cuts before the summer is over 😉 well you'll need some rain too!

More work Goldie, but worth it no doubt.
We have been watching the silage cutting here and on another site we've stayed on during our trip. Nice smell in the air.
Going for a walk in Hinchingbrooke Park this morning, where hopefully we won't get as lost as we did yesterday.

No, not perfect because it makes a huge noise on my caravan roof and wakes me up in the night!
