KjellNN that's great news, although I fear hard work is coming your way.😊
I have a day off work today so I'm going to tackle the garden and maybe make a cottage pie. A bit cooler here today but very sunny so far. We were woken at 5:11 this morning by our resident pigeon 🐦. It's taken to roosting in a small tree closest to the house. We thought we'd discouraged it but as we were away at the weekend it's taken up residence again.....😟

Enjoy your trip JVB.
Got up at 5.15 this morning and spent 3 hours trying to sort the scout accounts. Loaded bedding, towels and staple food stuffs into the van. Gave the van it a good wash down. After lunch it will be more time spent in the garden. Only 15C here at the moment but as there is no wind it’s just right in the garden.

Safe trip JVB66
I was woken at 4 am by OH's phone going off, apparently he should have been at work, CPC course was cancelled and no body thought to let him know!
It's another nice sunny day, still feels warm too. Walked to shop to do a bit of shopping, and then enjoyed a cuppa in the garden.
Oneputt don't you just love accounts
When are you off on the next trip? I've got the accountant coming this afternoon to prep the company accounts, oh joy!

Had to go into CMK this afternoon to pick up my new glasses, second pair within the year as I had damaged the original ones. Strangely my prescription showed an improvement in one eye which I got quite excited about only to be completely deflated by the lovely Sara when she told me it was due to the cataract which sometimes leads to an improvement before the problem gets worse!!! To compensate we went into JL's restaurant and had a large cake each and a pot of tea using our last My John Lewis card vouchers (until we get some new ones)

Finished the 65 stages of my IKEA cabinet construction and no pieces left over. 😀 Went together very well and OH is pleased she now has somewhere nice for her Lilliput Houses. I must say I have always been pleased with how IKEA products go together, much better than the MFI units we bought in the 70's.
Received news today that they can do my cataract opp next week. It has meant canceling our planned trip, however hopefully we will get away Before the school holidays start. I'm just pleased they are finally going to do it.
Just heard on the news a liquid chocolate tanker has spilt 20 + tonnes over a Polish motorway. That's going to take some cleaning up.😂

Safe trip on Sunday Oneputt, have a lovely time.
Just had an awful afternoon with accountant who was preparing the year end company accounts. Computer decided to go into meltdown,
so took much longer than normal. Apparently next year the returns have to be done quarterly
SteveL we had our new kitchen from Ikea and we were also impressed how they assembled, even I managed to put together some of the cupboards
Hope all goes well with Cateract op.
I saw the chocolate spill on the news, it certainly take a bit of clearing up!
Hope you enjoyed your pizza JVB66

Another busy day at DD's house. We packed up all her cookery books and various other books, board games and CDs, so now she can spread out her nice glassware and still have less clutter. Also cleaned the wood venetians next to where the budgies were........they were very dusty!
DD took Callum to visit his great gran, then later I took some stuff to the tip, then SIL loaded all the heavy boxes into our car for us to bring here.
Took Callum out in his push chair to Aldi for toilet rolls and hand wash, in the hope he would fall asleep, but it didn't work!
Home in time for dinner after stashing all those heavy boxes in one of our spare rooms.
DD was doing her mortgage application this evening, waiting to hear how it went.

Had a 'successful' day at the doc's today .
A return visit to Nurse for ear checks. I had to own up to having used an engineering trick to clear the blockages before I went away and the nurse & the Sister she called in were not too happy with me even tho' it was 100% successful
.
I'd actually used a warm, concentrated solution of washing up liquid to blast the gunk out but they were concerned that I might continue with such practices, even tho' i pointed out the same trick really cleans my frying pans and they don't complain !
Anyway I had the chance to re-book a doctors appointment at the same time & got one at same surgery but in 3 hours time !! How's that for luck
. Saw him and he seemed almost happy with my Diabetes situation -- all within my usual range except for BP 125 over 60. A touch on the low side for me, but I did get a strong reminder that the Exercise bike I bought is NOT a spare seat for any visitors, but must, repeat MUST get the dust cleared off every day
.
Ah well, as the scientists say, Some Days are Diamonds and some days are ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, !!
Hope you are all enjoying yourselves wherever you may be and whatever you are doing -- I'm off back to finish the ironing, g'night everybody.

Very early delivery from Postie today, here before 9:00, normally about 11:00 to 11:30 but I quite understand why !!
Just one envelope containing information about BT Benevolent Fund ( NOT, repeat NOT part of that company but a totally separate entity ) and it contained an advert for :--
Wait for it, wait for it :-
the Charity's very own Christmas Cards !!
Think I'll go and root out my Waterproofs, Fleeces & Wellies
again.
Grey clouds here in south Cheshire, wonder if its going to snow

Just had fun on the flat roof extension to the kitchen - painting it with a waterproof bitumen based product! Must be good for another 20 years or so now! (Or more likely/probably/definitely at the end of its shelf life even though no signs of leakage!)

Just back indoors from lovely stay at Burnham Wick, barn owls, hares and young ones, cuckoo, swallows swifts etc etc bliss. Quick cuppa and reload car with lawnmower then head over to mothers to cut her grass ours and aunts tomorrow.
Edit metaphorically not letting go the grass grow under our feet have already booked 5 nights away starting next Tuesday. Might have been late starting but got the taste for trips quickly. Will work out last 3/4 nights this evening.

Aarrrggh! Ruddy website!
Lost same post twice. Anyway had lovely day cycling next to Danube seeing Grass Snake, Swallowtail butterflies and plenty of Cuckoos. Weather holding up until Sunday. I blame Oneputts intended appearance in Germany!😋

Quite a lucky day as I found a 5 Euro note on the cycle path so we cycled the extra 1 mile into town at the end of the day and went to an ice cream parlour. We would have done it anyway as day was hot but it was nice being treated by someone else.
Oneputt, how long will you be over here for?

Re my previous post and picture of a Grey Squirrel attacking one of my bird feeders. There was an interesting article in the Guardian today on this very subject. They reckon that 40% of households have bird feeders using about 150000 tonnes of bird feed a year. Some research that has be carried out using video surveillance discovered as much as a half of the bird food is taken by squirrels. It also seems that the presence of squirrels frightens birds away from the feeders. The protective cage type bird feeders do cut the number of visits by squirrels but they are not a total defence from the rodents who are accomplished burglars to quote the article.

Fine day, warm in the sun but chilly otherwise. Moved up from CC's Clachan site to a newish CL, Bogroy Croft, at Carrbridge near Aviemore. Could be off to Boat of Garten, to try and spot the Ospreys, tomorrow if the weather's fine.

1 ) Goldie they are just gorgeous, seems like its Springtime in Cumbria
2 ) Brue my local jackdaw has given me problems
'cos the rascal has got a 'following' amongst the feral pigeons. JD attacks the bird cake in its cage and causes more than it eats to fall onto the floor. This means my attempts to restrict the ferals so as to allow more for the other birds are more fittingly applied to the 'other' thread
3 ) As for me I'm trying to build myself up 'cos I've got a visit to dentist at 3:45 today for [ whisper it please ] two fillings

Thanks for your son's video Goldie! The bluebells have been lovely this year, quiet a long season. I've been planting a few uk ones along some of our hedges etc, I got some bargain ones locally.
I have had to give in to my ongoing cold and sinus problems so now have some antibiotics. A different type this time so I hope they work and was lucky enough to get to the doctors without too long a wait. Interesting that as well as avoiding alcohol I have to avoid too much light, lucky it wasn't last week when we had summer.....
