We had an impromptu evening out tonight.  OH realised Barry Cryer was at our local theatre. We are great fans. OH was at Leeds University at the same time as him. Not that Barry Cryer knew OH although OH knew him as everyone did as he was the lead singer in the Uni jazz band - called the Devon Wanders for some obscure reason 😕. He was also a stand up comic at The City Varieties in Leeds. He didn't finish his degree as he had a better offer. 😃.  We had a brilliant evening. Off to Houghton Mill tomorrow so I might be 'off air' for a while as there is no WiFi. I will see how my 3G works. Have a great trip tammygirl and everyone else who will be away.

Lovely to read folks enjoying their day and see their photos 😃.

Been quite productive here after all. Cursory doing of chores 😲. Then located a tap, so took the motorhome to the accessory shop,  decided it is right type so purchased. We also have a nose at the new Bailey 2 berth motorhomes preferrd the entry level layout, huge shower, not impressed with 'better' spec as extremely tight squeeze past the toilet to get into the shower 😲😲. OH mightily relieved as I thought too big a step up at entry door too 😉😉. Re-stored motorhome, called into the garden centre for snack lunch - they were doing roasts so settled for that, 2 birds one stone and not as costly as motorhome 😉. Grabbed some shopping on the way home, put away and picked up bits i got for mum in the week. Visit to her for a couple of hours.

OH has studied the new tap within an inch of its life ☺😂 and decided to give it a go. Raided my dad's tools,  came away with huge collection of spanners 😲. Dad's been gone nearly 17 years they will be returned but as I type I suspect they'll all be imperial 😔. Neighbour who is engineer knocked (for totally unrelated reason), he builds steam engines, clocks and penny farthings,  discussed spanner with right-angled handle, he'd not got right size but retired plumber neighbour has lent us one. So fingers crossed.

As we drove from storage towards accessory shop, busy road, Fox pops out of copse with rabbit in its mouth, realises road too busy whilst it was still on the pavement, quick 180 turn back into copse! All so fast we had to ask each other if we really had seen it.

Milliehull I love Barry Cryer, quite jealous. Saw him a long time ago at radio recording of 'I'm sorry I haven't a clue' along with Willie Rushton, Tim Brooke-Taylor can't remember 4th 😲. But Willie Rushton been gone a good few years 😉. They all came in the same pub we'd popped into, great bunch.

Have a great time at Houghton Mill we should look into a stay there. Fairly local to our son.

Bakers, glad you got a new tap,  hope OH gets it fitted ok. Interesting to hear your comments on the new Bailey MH, ours is a Bailey and a 2 berth but the original 625 SE. We always look at the new ones when they are changed but so far have always preferred what we have. Our entry step is very low, they must have changed them, haven't seen the one you refer to yet.

Thanks Millie, you to, have a good time at Houghton Mill.

Enjoy your trip Millie hope the weather remains good for you.  Barrie Cryer, saw him years ago, trying to remember where though!  I know it was in the days when comedians were funnysurprisedwink

It's amazing what neighbours do B2, our neighbours have lived next door for about 25 years and we always talk, just chit chat but one day last year I mentioned that we were thinking of extending the kitchen and found out that he is an architectsurprised

Another lovely sunny start to the day here so will probably walk to the beach after the rest of the veg planted in the garden.

Tammygirl can only say we were both very disappointed with the new 2 berth no fixed bed Baileys. The more expensive one had lots of snags even on the display model, missing fixing studs for curtains a bathroom door that didn' fit into the locking mechanism. For some very strange reason there was a method of holding the bathroom door open with a strip of 'material' with press studs meaning the long woodwork has a random stud in it 😲😲. The decor colours were nice! But access to 1 2 or 3 trap door storage means carpet is cut accordingly and a floor without any carpets looks awful in my humble opinion, when I remarked on this was told easy to clean, I pointed out the the shiny dips to allow access to the 'storage' - shoes were suggested 😉 would fill with debris I was met with a shrug 😂. You don't get to be this old without spotting cleaning traps 😂😂😂.

We often, well if the opportunity arrives-living a long way from dealers apart from this one which is mainly caravans, look buy have never seen anything we like enough to pursue.  The Bailey 2 berth, non fixed beds, we'e 6 inches longer and 2 inches wider ( the more expensive one more) than our 5 berth Swift Suntor 😲😲 and less storage, mainly overhead cab 😉. So ruled out regardless.

Interesting the bumff gives payload but doesn't put in writing what's already allowed for - salesman reckoned 1/3 tank fresh water, no waste, 3/4 tank fuel and 75kg for driver, even has ready fixings for bike rack on all models.

Brochure makes reference to Artic trip but says nothing 😉

Glorious here again 😃😆. Just got the food to pull together,  tidy round and dishes etc to do, pick up few bits on our journey like milk 😲. Site only 20 minutes or so from storage so no rush.

Enjoy your day folks whatever you're doing take time to smell the flowers 😃. Safe journey's to those on the move over the next few days. Like milliehull we'll be on data so may not be able to connect.

Cariadon, glad you've had a nice stay at Aberaeron, which site did you stay on? Would love to go back at some point.

I could get used to this nice weather but we are making the best of it today, family coming over for local May Fair.

Good to hear you are all enjoying things, don't do too much washing and DIY!

Millie I made some Houghton Mill scones yesterday! I printed off their on line recipe.

Cariadon looks beautiful and it's not raining. We'd love to visit Wales again BUT have always had rain ranging from drizzle to stair rods regardless of time of year! I'll warn you all if we attempt again 😆 it's unusul as we are usually lucky with weather 😉 - Wales telling us something?

The more you go the less likely you'll have rain B2! We went to that part of a Wales a lot for several years, we had relatives nearby. Pleased to hear you are now ready and repaired for your trip.

Thanks Cariadon, must remember that one. smile

It's strange because every time we have been to England we have had some rain, and has been dry at home, but being from Wales we are prepared with Mac and Wellies.laughing

Usually continous rain for us, it's  where we bought our wet weather gear. Little need of it in the east 😉.

Right frozen and fridge bits to go into cool bag and we're off. 😆😃☺

Weather here for the weekend not too bad.  Been keeping busy doing stuff at our daughter's house the last few days.

They have decided to make an offer on this house we all went to view, offers have to be in by 11am tomorrow, so meantime they have started a bit of a tidy up at their place in case it is going on the market.

I have been cutting grass, planting some colourful pansies, cleaning windows, shower screens and tiles, and stashing stuff in the loft, while she has been starting the tidying.

OH has been chief chilld minder and dish washer.

They had an estate agent round to indicate what they could expect to get for their place, and DD and OH have been working out the finances and sorting tax returns.

Mortgage application ready to go if they should be successful, meantime they have an indication from the bank of how much they could borrow, so that is as far as they can go now.

Having a "day off" at home today to catch up on things here.

Our last day at Chatsworth and it's another scorcher! We've had quite an active week, so today is just a lazy day and catching up on a bit of reading. The site has really emptied this morning - back to work/school I guess for many folk. Tomorrow we are off to Kingsbury Water Park C&CC site for 3 nights before returning home.

Thought this picture was evidence that not all parents are irresponsible and some keep a very close eye on their offspring! wink

Belter of a day here in Bavaria. Seems like you've had great Bank Holiday weather for a change. So that's it for the next decade or so.

We spent this morning pootling around a deserted (people wise) nature reserve before giving in to the heat after lunch. We've enjoyed good weather in the Netherlands and here since arriving over a week ago and forecast seems ok for the next week. We'll definitely have to pay for it.

Hope everyone enjoying themselves and applying factor 25.

MamTor is in the Peak District just above Castleton.  Our son is a keen amateur photographer 😉 it does take a bit of waiting around to get the right pictures too.
