I think you might find the term was relative M. After the sub zero we had last week, it would be flipping hot.

For many years OH and I had to take our holidays abroad during the winter months, and the only time we had one what we considered a hot holiday and that was a nice hot  was in Barbados, the rest were in southern europe(spain etc) and the temps were no hotter than a UK summer

No where near 22°C here unfortunately frown

Met a neighbour out walking his dog this morning said he'd seen a Barn Owl hunting in the field next to the canal the last couple of days, early evening. May have to take a walk that way tonight.

Quite a change from the -4 we were having here last week, so +20 might well feel "flippin' hot",

It seems you have a low tolerance to heat Malcolm, which you are constantly telling us about, but we are all different, some people like it hot.

I would very much doubt people take holidays to warmer places if they do not like the temperatures they are likely to experience!

The thermometer inside my caravan, here in Brighton is showing 23 degrees, SteveL and it feels even hotter in the awning when I sat out in my relaxer just now. That's warmer than their temperatures there and certainly warm enough for me! But I wouldn't call it flipping hot albeit, it is in comparison to last weeks deep freeze! In any case, no need to go there because it's as warm here!

And if you had your EV it could be charging without the "worry" of tripping as your heating will be offwink

My lounge (caravan) is at 22 degrees

My sun room (awning) is also 22 degrees

Outside it is only 5.7 degrees.

Arrived at CL at 1100hrs.  Good drive from home but with high gusting winds and quite deep snow on the sides of some roads.  Believe me this caravanning isnt always as good as M's propaganda would have us believe.  Whilst setting up 2 really heavy wintery downpours and temperature dropped to zero C with a wind chill of -9.  Mrs One wasnt too happy as i sat in the van whilst she attended the outdoor chores.   Still she finished all the chores and is gradually defreezing😍 Happy holiday TG and Millie, i'm envious and wish we had 20+C temperature 😆

Not a good start to the season down here in Cornwall as we walked in only to find the carpets in two rooms soaking wet. Pipes or maybe joints burst in the shower room and toilet. frown

When we left in January we left the heating on frost setting just to avoid this. In the meantime someone has come to do the gas landlord check and left it turned off! yell

So now doing a big drying out operation. "Could be worse" we were told - one of the neighbours boiler has blown and they're completely flooded out and facing a bill for several hundred pounds. frown

Hope you get it fixed quickly Moulesy, do you have any recourse with the park management?

The drying out is relatively easy. The worst part is that we've had to turn the water off and as the tourer part of the park doesn't open for another couple of weeks we're temporarily without a loo and shower until Saturday which is the earliest the maintenance guy can get here. Luckily we have very good neighbours who are coming to the rescue but it's far from ideal.

I shall be taking it up with the new park owners who advised us that there was no need to have a complete drain down ( we'd done that every year with the previous owners) But I suspect they'll be blaming the gas man for turning the heating off and he'll be blaming them for not making it clear it had to be left on. yell

    Interesting times! wink

I'm getting a welcome injection of funds into my bank account. I received £220 tax refund from HMRC today. My Scottish Widows private pension is due in the next few days, maybe without tax this time and Friday week is Pizza Hut payday. Then a week later my state pension, followed by my Civil Service Pension at the end of the month. By next week, I will have cleared my entire business account overdraft so that all my bank accounts will be back in credit. So no more interest bearing debt left. Credit card debts will still be there but reduced by the monthly payments with no interest charges. All this coincides with our move on to our seasonal pitch so no more site fees to pay. Nice one! It's looking good, isn't it?

As the card accounts are all interest free, there's no need to pay extra into them. Instead, I could put the surplus funds into my savings accounts and start earning interest! All this can be further improved on the delivery of my new Smart Electric which will bring an end to the £50 a week petrol costs.money-mouthmoney-mouthmoney-mouth!

Your not wrong there, when taking Rosa on her last couple of walks the wind chill is not what is expected with the sun and blue skys (between the showersundecided)

Precisely, JVB66. To me it feels like a lovely Spring Day! Granted there's a breeze but blue skies with no cloud! The whole site here seems to be bathed in the golden glow of early Spring sunshine!

Without heating, we face south and it is a sunny day, so no need for heating while the sun is up.

Outside we still have big piles of snow in the gutters, slowly melting away.

Well today instead of a coffee we decided to sample the "silver surfer" lunch at the Hive Beach cafe down in Dorset. Two courses for £10, so we had a lovely piece of fresh hake in a tempura batter etc. and added a glass of wine each. It's a bit like sitting in a big awning down there, well it is one really but the sea views are great. smile

We went on the beach afterwards, nice looking out to sea or the house of a certain Mr B. Bragg perched on the cliffs. I was about to take some more photos but you have been spared. As the sea rushed towards me I ran backwards up the slope and fell flat on my back. OH came back to haul me up. End of outing, ouch, ouch, ouch. laughing
