Lovely weather again today, sunshine most of the time and it got too hot   so we opened up the awning doors and caravan windows to let some cool air in. Now closed again as it's getting cooler with the sun going down. Leaving for work soon.

Good luck. Does this mean you can still get to B'wood as I suppose you'll be confined to quarters after op?

Have booked our last two sites for this trip, at Ilkley and Clapham and will be home by the Wednesday before Easter.

Just discovered that we've lost the dome off our rooflight in the shower compartment. So a rapid repair this afternoon, after our trip to York, with polythene ans Duck Tape. Just hope that it holds when we move onto Tudor Springs near Cottingham tomorrow.,

undecided Hi "Where's ,Yes i'm in agreement about the state of the U.Ks roads ,as most of us know ,that motoring/touring in Europe is far more pleasant.BUT  ,,,that section of our roads network ,"A2/M2" has to cope with a lot of HGV traffic to & from the ferry ports. It would appear that looking at the section of road today involved, the 'tarmac' was laid upon new concrete with no obvious sign that i could see ,of a 'tack coat' or emulsion surface being laid to bind the two surfaces .(a quick job ,to get it open ??)  or the contractor cutting corners ??  !!surprised

Anyway ----BE CAREFUL on that stretch of road.

I had a terrible time getting to work yesterday evening. There were huge delays on the A259 from Shoreham to Old Salts Farm Road. So I was stuck in traffic that just wouldn't move. Work rang me soon after my shift was due to start to check if I was all right so I explained about being stuck in traffic in Shoreham. They immediately understood and said that they were not sending car drivers into Shoreham for that reason, only the bike riders were being used for those deliveries. Even the radio announced delays of 50 minutes.

I managed to get off the A259 at Eastern Avenue and went from there north towards the A27 where there was still some congestion but traffic moving much quicker. By the time I got to the shop I was 45 minutes late. As it turned out, it was very quiet all evening so they could have managed without me.  I'd saved them some money in wages by coming in late as it was so quiet there was no point in my being there!

It seems the delays were caused by two sets of roadworks.

Anyhow, we've got up to a lovely sunny morning today after all that wind and rain last night!

Why don't you just come in your outfit down here to Brighton, Tammygirl? As I type this, the sun is out and blue sky with no clouds but without the intense heat that you are experiencing. Don't you think this might be far more comfortable for you? What's so great about being in such an uncomfortably hot place?

If it was me, I would definitely be complaining. I couldn't stand that much heat. The very thought of it makes me feel ill!

I'm on the club site in Brighton and this is warm enough for me, especially as our awning window is facing south and therefore gets the sun all day! Where you are, it must be like living in an oven. No thank you, I don't want to be cooked alive!

Sounds good Millie, I think we've got some warmer weather on the way in the SW at the weekend whilst there is snow around in a few parts just now.

Off to the beach now, going to have a coffee by the sea and get some fresh sea air! smile

If it's a UK beach, I would heartily agree with you, brue, but Millie and Tammygirl are on tropical or sub tropical islands where it so hot that you can literally get cooked alive! Sorry but I can't see any fun in that!

In March 2009, brue, my wife and I visited Gibraltar. She had a UK Settlement visa at that time so she could travel with me without needing a visa because it's a British overseas territory and both flights and 4 star hotel were paid for through Air Miles. So it cost us nothing! We had a great holiday there and walked up the Rock of Gibraltar and saw the Barbary Apes. It was a British Airways flight and we descended after circling the Rock with blue skies and lovely views on to the short landing strip there that was a bit like a level crossing because there was a main road crossing it.

All through our stay, the temperature was around 20 degrees so comfortable for visiting the Botanic gardens and walking around. Now to me, that would be a more sensible choice of holiday destination at this time of year.

Having said that, we have been very happy with our stay on the club site in Brighton with all the attractions within walking distance of our site, including the pier and the Lanes. Plus, the sun has been shining for us too but at a much more comfortable temperature.

I don't know but they have described it as 'flipping hot' which to them would mean temperatures in excess of 30 degrees. You would expect islands off the West coast of Africa to be that hot, EasyT!

Only 16 to 18 there this week M and a fair bit of rain.

Anyway, I'm off to wash the car in a rather cool / cloudy 5C. I would prefer 25 any day of the week.😀

Then why did they say it was flipping hot, EasyT, if it was a comfortable 20 degrees?
