Did you see any 8ft. wide caravans? I remember seeing them last year at the show. They looked a lot more spacious inside. Bigger washrooms and more space to get past the transverse bed. Much better, I thought.

We did not get wakened by any trains, and OH is a light sleeper, so probably no trains overnight.  Line is not very close, about 300 metres away, but you can see the trains going past.  Very flat there, so if the wind is in the wrong direction you will hear them.

It's a nicely laid out factory, KjellNN. Did they invite you to have breakfast in their canteen or did they take you to the waiting room? There's a coffee machine there, if you want a coffee whilst you're waiting. The staff there are all very nice and helpful.

Good! It's a comfortable waiting room and there's a big screen tv there, so you can watch the news if you want. Are they doing the work under warranty?

I would hope so, it's only 4 years old.  A control box issue they reckon.

What time did you get there, KjellNN? They open at 08:30 but if you arrive at 08:00, they'll let you in. The grounds around there are nice with the lake and picnic benches.

Did you have to reverse the caravan into the servicing bay? I remember there being two servicing bays marked 1 and 2.

It's been raining on and off this morning here. I'm sitting inside the awning because the grass outside is wet.

I believe the last posting date for surface mail Christmas cards being sent to destinations outside Europe is 28th September! So if you're sending Xmas cards to anyone in Australia or Asia, you better get cracking!

We were booked for 09.00 so arrived just before that, reversed into bay1.

Not very nice out, grey and misty, so we are just staying in the waiting area.

Taking longer than they first said however, that is 90 minutes now.

Woke up to a damp, grey morning (Tomasz was just 24 hours out in his forecast!) but it's starting to brighten up so hopefully we'll have a reasonable last day (for now). Bit of a concern up on the dunes this morning when Harry disappeared into the fog - he'd heard the voice of one of our friends and fellow dog walkers who makes her own liver cake treats and set off in her direction at a rate of knots! Eventually caught up with him looking well pleased with himself! sealed

We have just been to see The Emoji Movie with 2 of the grandchildren.  They loved it but as Mr H doesn't use any electronic device it was all lost on him. laughinglaughing.  As the rain has stopped we are hoping to get them to the park with their scooters to work off some energy (them not us - we will get a coffee in the café and sit outside and watch them.)

Car passed MOT.  Went to Danebury Hill Fort, fantastic achievement by the people who built it over 2000 years ago with primitive hand tools.

After lunch off to try and find Great Bustards.

Just in keswick enjoying some eats. Troutbeck filled up a lot last night.

Noticed the planning application at the entrance for a mini roundabout and more new all weather pitches pitches which will replace the grass ones (that are never in use according to the wardens)

I remember visiting that area in June/July 2015 and staying on the Club site at Kendal. I also remember going on the ferry across Lake Windermere.

It's still rather grey and overcast. The promised afternoon fair weather hasn't arrived yet. We've just had some muffins with cheese and tomato on top for our afternoon tea in the awning.

I'm waiting to hear from the car service department. It's already 16:30 so it must be nearly completed.

It's dull, breezy and showery here at New England Bay for the second day in row, but we didn't expect wall to wall sunshine smile

Yesterday was a bit of a washout, so we took the opportunity to head to Stranraer to do a food shop.  We must have missed the Lidl store last time we were here, but were very impressed!

Today (between showers) we've managed to walk a bit of the coastal path towards Drummore.

We shopped at Stranraer Lidl, but didn't get much because it was so cold in the shop! I couldn't concentrate and forgot most of what I intended to buy.

We did get some Pecan pastry things and flaky pastry twists. Wonderful!

Shogun Car service completed and £259.43 paid through my Tesco Credit Card to add more points! The car has now been duly delivered back to us with the service booked stamped.

The dull grey weather is continuing but at least it's not raining at the moment!
