Thank goodness, you didn't break any bones, Tammygirl. I'm still suffering the consequences of that. With my hands all bandaged up, it's a monumental task trying to do anything! It's made me aware of how much we rely on our hands just to do the most simple of tasks!

We've just got up and made a pot of tea, just waiting for it to brew. There are some patches of blue sky appearing through the clouds as I look out at the front window of the caravan.

We've just finished breakfast whilst watching a bit of breakfast tv. The weather forecast suggests fairer weather on it's way.

My wife has already planned the lunch menu. We'll be having pork loin steaks with pesto melt and semi dried tomatoes accompanied by potatoes and vegetables.

Without the use of my hands, there's not much else I can do but just eat and sleep!

If you want more sun, Tammygirl, you could always nip down to the Costa del Sol for the winter. You'll get plenty of warm weather and sunshine down there but perhaps not as hot at that time of year!

I think I'll be spending my winter here doing fast food deliveries in the cold and dark because I need to earn some money! It keeps my wife happy!

I think I also heard somewhere that it is sometimes prevalent in the area around Clumber Park Bakers2.

I can remember when our post always arrived before I left for work at 7.30am - happy days.smile

So sorry about your accident Tammygirl.  It's quite frightening how quickly these things can happen.  I hope your knee is soon better.

Talking about post, collecting our post is another difficulty for me with not being able to drive for another 5 weeks. My cousin helped us last week by bringing our post to us using his car.

Finally, it's starting to look as though the sun is about to come out. Miracles will never cease! It will be so nice to be able to sit out on the nice neatly mown lawn, which the warden did for us yesterday, now that the weather is improving!

That's a good idea, Goldie. I think I could order the daily newspaper from the warden. It's light enough weight to be able to hold with my fingers!

It's a lovely sunny morning here, rest of washing now pegged out to dry.smile

Found a broken glass bottle in our local park this morning, almost hidden in the grass! It's bad enough finding whole bottles, but why do they have to smash them yell so dangerous.

Brue, your trip sounds lovely,  enjoy.

Tammygirl,  sorry to hear about your accident,  hope knee feels ok now. I nearly did the same thing last week while away, but it was swerving to avoid the dog! surprisedlaughing

Sun coming out here, decent breeze too, just right for drying my towels 😃 which have another few minutes in the machine.

I have several hours to myself hoday and I'm like a kid in a sweet shop - can't decide what to use them for 😂😂.

Had email changing flight times home next March leaving 13 hours earlier 😢 but at our usual time. Making much longer stay in Kuala Lumpur airport, not my favourite environment, can spend hours in Singapore with their gardens and swimming pool etc. That's the second amendment on this trip! Other is slightly shorter at KL on the way out, that'll be less than an hour if on time 😲. Mind you they hold the plane for you - last time we were over an hour late leaving the ground at Heathrow. Fairly hustled through KL and security. Total of 9 flights held. Means returning hire car day early, I wonder if I can get a reduction 😉

    Enjoy your day folks.

I've just been over to the warden's office to ordered a daily newspaper and paid £1.70 for tomorrow's Daily Telegraph. So plenty of reading for tomorrow. It will also have the daily tv listings, weather report etc. which could be useful.

The sun has come out now so maybe time to get that relaxer out of the awning and on to that lovely lush green grass outside. England's green and pleasant land, as the saying goes! How much nicer to have lovely green grass instead of grey stones or concrete hardstanding!

Nice day here in Notts, if a little windy. Currently watching start of Tour of Britain from Mansfied on ITV 4, before setting off to watch it live at a couple of locations.

The washing is being done at the moment in our caravan washing machine. The drain mechanism isn't working so it has to be tipped over to get the water out.  The sun's out now so no problem to get the drying done.

Malcolm you seem to have hit a similar patch to us 😃.  Not as smooth as it might be and occasionally costly 😉.

I'm off to defrost the freezer. It's fairly empty. Warm enough to defrost fairly quickly and cool enough to keep stuff frozen in the cool boxes in the shade! It's not a job I relish but needs must!

Starting to cook lunch now using the electric oven in the awning. It's in the process of pre-heating at the moment.

We use an electric cool box that can work on mains as well as 12 volt. It might be worthwhile for you to invest in one, Bakers2. It might keep food cold or frozen a bit longer! We bought ours a year ago from Halfords.

We're just getting the table laid in the caravan ready for lunch. Lunch will be ready in 25 minutes from now.

I've just finished enjoying a lovely lunch. Whilst eating, the phone rang. It was the surgery to  say my medical certificate is ready for collection. That means a bus trip there this afternoon to collect it.

Left Uttoxeter at 09.54 and arrived at Tewkesbury at exactly 12 noon.

Road works J1-J2 of M5 were well managed, a little slow in places, but no problems.  M6 was clear of roadworks.

Site here is very busy, not a huge choice of pitches, glad we arrived at 12.

Sunny now, yesterday was quite wet so we just went out for a couple of hours up towards Buxton.

Mover is now like new again, engineer at Truma has fitted a complete new control box and re-routed some  wires, must be why it all took 2 hours.  All done under the 5 year warranty.

Presume you now have your bus pass?  Wish we were able to use ours in England, I wonder why the scheme is not UK wide?

Watched the riders through the feed zone at Clumber, before moving on to the finish at Newark. We have a good spot at about 120 metres from the finish. Hopefully, if they catch the breakaway we should see a good mass sprint in about 40 mins.

Very  pleased  to  hear  that  your  trip  thro  the  M6 --> M5  junction  road  works  went  smoothly  K  cool.  It  can  be a  real  horror  if  there  is  a  breakdown  or  accident  there,  I  get  the  feeling  at  times  that  it  even  moves  the  sun  backwards  !!
