Could very well be COVID Bakers. I had it a few weeks ago, I was exhausted for a week, could barely stand up. I had no symptoms whatsoever first time I had COVID, but Mum’s GP said this Summer COVID has been a bit different. Not getting as many in same household ( thankfully), but nasty if you get it. We can get test kits, only because my OH is on the vulnerable list (cancer, no spleen), so anyone else with a vulnerable member of family, it might be worth asking your GP. Kits are smaller, 5 tests, but they are a lot easier to use. You have to pick up from a pharmacy. Handy to have in, I have to test because of Mum. It would have finished her had she got it, so we are very careful.

A much duller day here with periods of rain, although it brightened up this evening and we have just had a spectacular red sky, which augurs well for tomorrow. Phoned the dentist around 8:30 this morning and they booked me an appointment for 3:15 this afternoon, when I had some adjustments made to my new plate which was much too tight and painful yesterday.. Received a phone call from the gas boiler service company to arrange a date for the fitting of the replacement parts, more great service, as the engineer only finish the service at 17:15 yesterday.
Nice photos, WN, and pleased to read that had a good break and got home safely.
Glad to hear that you are feeling much better, B2, and that the temperature has dropped to a more comfortable level.
Have a safe drive home David, you have covered a fair amount of ground this trip, with another long drive in the near future too. Take care.

Our weather is weird isn’t it, not hot here, in fact I had to find a sweater this afternoon as I was cold and I was dressed in jeans and a thick T-shirt. Then heavy rain for a few hours, puddles everywhere.
Hope that you recover soon Bakers. Nice photos Wherenext.

Well the website back up and running after being off for most of the day.
We have got rain hooray started about 9.30 this morning and still raining only light and some heavier bursts but ok with that saves watering and topping up the water butts and a lot cooler upto 20C lovely after the extreme heat.
Sorry to hear about your illness and hope you are recovering Bakers2 agree with Ttda it sounds like Covid as it has been been around some villages here so we keep out of the way if we can.
Enjoy your trip DSB a long drive.
Off to friends tomorrow morning as OH will help out a computer issue for them and then coffee afterwards so hope it is dry so we can sit outside.
Take care folks.

Like you takethedogalong I'm super careful. OH was on the vunerable list but wasn't invited for the spring jab.
I spoke to the GP receptionist before feeling poorly. Our village pharmacy has ceased requesting repeat prescriptions from GP"s we have to order ourselves. I needed to know how go do it online. Turned out I needed codes and passwords - I wasn't as IT dumb aside feared. I think the vunerable bit got missed on our move! Apparently Covid jabs are government lead, so check out the website. That's closed as spring jabs over.
I will ask at the GP about test kits as looking at our meds they need GP approval before reissue. I'll check out vunerable status again too.
If it was covid no idea where it came from although I hear plenty of folk locally having it. I'm still Billy no mates in that I stand well back from folk when conversing 🤣. Also really pleased that OH seems to have been unaffected.
Your symptoms sound very similar to mine....
I typed this reply, fortunately I copied it before pressing reply! I fear I may have broken, not that it takes much 😕, the website by posting. It was a new to me message
www.caravanclub.co.uk’s DNS address could not be found. Diagnosing the problem.
Here's hoping I'm not the curse of CT or the website!
Thanks for your good wishes.
I walked little further today, big mistake I fear. However with the help of a kind neighbour, who likes heights 🫣. We harvest some ripe, overly so in some cases, Victoria plums. Lots of rotting horrible ones on the tree and maggoty ones despite usual precautions. Been reading up but I won't use insestiside, so fingers crossed for next year. Not had the engery to deal with any yet.
Safe travels for those on the move.
Rain, my friend in Porlock reported they had it this morning. Redkite it sounds refreshing and must smell wonderful. We have none forecast for the next week, be good to get the combining finished before it arrives, although our garden is desperate and our water use VERY high!

For anyone wanting a Covid test Tesco or Boots sell them for about £2 each or £9 for a pack of five. Probably local chemist as well. Always worth having a couple in the house.

I saw a thread, started by Keiranstaff, at 0838 this morning regarding the lack of access to the website for some. Rowena updated about 1030. Apparently they use Fastnet to provide the website. A member commented a this afternoon.
I had it open in a tab, read it, a few minutes ago. A refresh gives the wrong way signs! Gone from the latest activity new discussions too! Too much information divulged or keeping us in the dark?

It’s still on the FB page.

Tells us all we need to know and confirms what we all suspected......
It refers to my post on previous page quoted below

I've just heard from milliehull. She sends apologies for her absence but she is still unable to get on CT.
She kindly emailed Rowena this morning, so it seems unfair!
Could someone report my post please, so whoever needs to action such things knows? Thank you.

Reported as requested, B2.
We set off this morning on our latest trip with an easy 2 hr tow. Another new site for us, very basic but suits us fine, and we were joined this afternoon by a M/H. It has been a lovely sunny day but cooled down this evening as the clouds built up. The panoramic photo was taken just behind the site. Anyone know where we are, as there is a good clue in the photo.

Hmm🤔 Are you somewhere near Alnwick Nellie. I seem to recall some kind of MOD installation high up in the hills not far away. Only a guess mind. It doesn’t look like the Pickering Pyramid that replaced the Goathland Golf Balls many years ago🤣
We have had a lovely day, another staycation day out for us into the Peak District. Picnic at Shillito Woods, then over Froggat Edge down into Calver to a gift shop to find something for my sister’s birthday. From there we ended up in Eyam. Decided to stop and have a good look around the Church, which is very interesting. I haven’t been here since I was in Junior School, many years ago. Onwards and upwards round lots of tiny roads, well off the beaten track, all very scenic. We came back down and ended up on main road between Hathersage and Hope, had a nice pub meal then onwards again across The Strines, Low and High Bradfield then took in the Cote de Oughtibridge climb back home. Not too busy anywhere, but plenty of folks in main centres.
Photos are very old Cross in Churchyard, and The Plague Window in Eyam Church.

We were very lucky with test kits. Because OH had an Op a couple of years ago, we were given around 3-4 of the original test kit boxes, and they are still just in date. As I say, we have some new ones as well because he’s a fragile little specimen. Our GP and local hospitals are wonderful with him thankfully. We have our second shingles jab next month. Brilliant getting old☹️

Yes - it has a UV lamp Freddy - and I replace it every six months, as required. The problem was that there was so much silt in the pond that it was a perfect feeding ground for the algae and nothing would shift it. Since it has been cleaned, the water is now starting to clear - just another treatment required before we go away tomorrow and it should be fine. Fish are leaping about like mad and look very happy

Not much changes after yesterday's issues. Today for the 1st time in a good while I'm getting server errors on the latest activity page 🫣🤬. You really couldn't make it up.
I did see that last evening Rowena had started another thread about the outage. Still no sign of the removed one! It offered numbers to contact for various things if access to the website was an issue.
Nice to read it, but no use at all if you couldn't access the website or didn't know where to look! I hope no one regrets going digital............

Hi Bakers2, I've emailed milliehull with the update and hopefully she will be back on once all resolved. The latest updates are also on Club membership section but I appreciate milliehull can't access this so she is more than welcome to keep checking with me.

So proud today. Grandson got 3 A’s and a B in his A levels! He has a place at his chosen Uni but has decided not to take it as he doesn’t really know if he wants to do the chosen course after all. Such a sensible decision as he has always said he was unsure of the next direction he wants. Taking a year out to try some work experience in a few different areas. Been a stressful morning for us, now phew!!!👏🏻👏🏻

If I can expand a little further richardandros
Do you know the gallonage of the pond and the power rating of the UV? It’s recommended that there should be 10w for every 1,000 gallons, although I found that it needed more like 15-20w per 1,000 gallons, especially if the pond is out in the open.* If you have one of those all in one filters, chances are it has an 11w UV. Among other things, sludge is made up from dead algae, so if you can get on top of that, it should reduce the sludge problem.
*The numbers given relate to a pond with no surface plants.

Congrats to him👏👏 Sensible decision to defer. The enormous debt students leave Uni with nowadays means it’s better to be sure it’s what you want. We have a couple of nephews who dropped out of their courses, as they weren’t what they thought. One is now in the Royal Navy touring the World, the other went into banking and is making lots of money advising Billionaires what to do with their money🤣
Cooler here today, but still dry. Hopefully a bit more gardening at Mum’s.

He has got a good education which will always give him a head start. Many of our up and coming managers started as A-Level Trainees. Many of them made the same progress if not more than the university educated trainees. I think perhaps where a university education comes into it's own is where someone wants to pursue a particular career path which in early stages is graduate driven.

Congratulations to heddlo's grandson. I think that's a very sensible decision on deferring. There's no sense in getting into huge debt unless you're certain. I believe university has been pushed too hard over recent years. There are plenty of other routes to a successful rewarding career.
If one is not certain, it's good to try different avenues.
Thanks for reporting my post, nelliethehooker, and to Rowena for her response.
Thread replies and posts appear to disappear 😕 if I remembering things correctly.......

Freddy - The pond capacity is about 20 - 25000 litres and the pressurised filtration system and pump are set up for a pond of 30,000 litres. The UV bulb is rated at 24w - I've just bought two new ones. Up to a couple of years ago, the water was crystal clear - despite being 2m deep - so I know the system I have is up to the job. The amount of silt that had accumulated was the problem and now that this has been removed and things are settling down, the water is starting to clear again after less than 48 hours. Thanks for the advice, though.
