A fine but very windy day. So far I have attempted to post some photos twice but obviously without success because of trying to size them to fit the stupid requirements of this forum.yell

Well I can't see my riveting post. With photos 🤬🤬. I get server errors, this page or page 1. Can't get the page numbers up on my phone so can't try that,  they don't appear on server error pages.....

Maybe we should start a new thread??

This assumes someone can read this!

Anyone else still up watching election result programmes? I have a “Portillo moment” list awaiting ticking off, although a few have jumped ship rather than drown😁

Yesterday was the “reading” day of our latest  TB test. We’re still not clear, so are still locked down (as far as being unable to move or sell stock) but the result was much better than last time. There were 3 “inconclusives” which have to be isolated, and one grand old cow that was inconclusive for the second time, so will be going as soon as the paperwork comes through. Some blood tests next Monday to help us decide on the next step.

In other news, I would have liked to have stayed up to watch the Election results come in, but could only manage as far as the first declaration. Reading about it all this morning I wish I had made the effort.

We all went to vote after milking last night, and this morning I removed the poster from the front door.

OH came to bed at 2am and I was asleep.

Hope you have some good news soon Goldie must be a worrying time for you.

We went to our friends yesterday as they needed help with basic planning approval for their new windows they want to install and their main computer is windows so not OH's favourite but did managed to get things sorted and they now know what to put on the form, and our friend was a lot better yesterday 1st day without having a nap in the afternoon and next Monday she has a PET Scan then Tuesday see the anaesthetist and then on Wednesday to see the Consultant/Surgeon as they are both at Toulouse Cancer hospital they have book into a local Hotel for 1 night as too much travelling about so hope all goes well for her.

Washing is getting done today as we have a storm tonight and all day tomorrow hmm not keen on that weather news.

Hooray - I have got on here at last!!

We didn't stay up late last night just long enough to hear the 'Exit Polls' although where they get those from I have no idea.  There was no attempt to see our polling cards outside our polling station yesterday just a lot of people with rossettes on having a chat amongst themselves.  In days gone by I used to go and watch the count and be there for the result - mind you the polls closed much earlier in those days.

We watched the Murrary brothers on centre court last night. It was so sad to see them lose but such a lovely tribute to Andy Murray afterwasrds and also lovely to see Sue Barker leading the tributes.

Best of luck Goldie. Such a worrying and difficult time for you.

I persevered until 4.30am!!! For years I have stayed up to watch the results. Wanted to see what happened in MK (never an early result)  as there have been boundary changes and we now have three constituencies rather than two. The exit poll was reasonably accurate. They explained how they reach the figures. Apparent the select 130 constituencies and as people leave the polling station they give them another voting slip and ask them to vote again, so the exit poll is based of real votes rather than intended votes which tends to give a more accurate figure. No idea what constituencies they used, certainly wasn't our polling station.

Washed the van yesterday and took Mrs Ones car for MOT this morning, a pass with no advisories. I brought the car at 1 year old, so it’s 15 years old with 54 miles on the clock, very reliable.

When we got to the polling station yesterday 4 different activists outside wanting to see our cards, I agreed if they would answer one question each.  I then made my mind up who to vote for laughing

We both made 4am, and in truth I only went to bed because I had to be up and to Mum’s this morning. I love seeing the results come in, catching the stories. We had a WhatsApp session going with other family members who also stayed up. There was some very tactical voting going on, not all of it well thought out for the long term either, but that’s the beauty of our democracy. I’ve done overnight count sessions at work in the past, our big leisure centre was the count station. We have a very good, decent, moral local MP. Happily returned easily.

We put the tv on in the bedroom but I fell asleep, woke up at 1.30am and OH had fallen asleep so I turned the tv off then. Then we laid in for a bit this morning watching what had happened. Son and family walked to their local pub to celebrate grandsons uni results after they had all voted, 5 of them, youngest twos first time, and son said they mostly all voted differently, which is what democracy is all about.

I am sat in garden listening to bands testing equipment, practising, having fun for tomorrow’s big music event. I suspect most of the town will be able to hear it as well! Looking forward to going, only need England to win tomorrow, and it will have been a cracking week……free tickets, election results, Cav breaking record for Tour wins, and I have an extra day off tomorrow🤗🥳

And our pool has come, just in time for some rainy days🤣

Last day of our holiday today and it been the best day weather wise, mostly sunny and the wind has finally dropped, phew! I did think the awning might take off at one point but it stayed put.

We spotted a poster in the local pub on Sunday for a music night this Wednesday, so thought we would give it a try. So glad we did, turned out it is a regular twice monthly event when musicians from the area get together to play, guitars and violin this week and sing. We had a real mix of music folk, pop Irish, even the locals sing along. We ended up having a really enjoyable evening.

Spent a lovely day yesterday mooching around Kirkby Lonsdale and the area and today we had a walk along the Warton Coastline before stocking up with goodies in Booth's in Carnforth. I discovered they do a Lakeland plum loaf which is delicious 😋 so just had to have one to take home😉

We've decided to break the journey home at the same CL as on the way up, might hang on and do the last leg of the M6 later on Sunday, think there is a football match on so the motorway might be quiet 🤔

Sorry to read your still not TB clear Goldie, hope things improve soon.

Didn't watch any of the results last night, just checked out the results this morning, no great surprise 😲

Well, we went to bed at the same time as normal last night as I needed to be alert enough to drive us to the Lakes. Mind, I probably would have decided to miss the results anyway. I couldn't change anything and I need my beauty sleep.smile

Broke the journey up by stopping at Ruffed Old Hall, just south of Preston, mainly to stretch the legs and grab a bite to eat. Never been before. Had to miss out on the hall itself as MiL wouldn't have managed it.

We were thinking of Goldie as we called into Low Sizergh Farm for some refreshments and cheese. Sorry to hear the news, albeit slightly better than last time.

Sounds like an excellent break Helen.

And finally did you make a typing error OneP? 54 miles? Surely not.smile

Fingers crossed that the weather improves enough for you to test your new pool, tda. Have a great time at the concert tomorrow night.

We have another fine warm sunny day,  and this morning we went to see Aldburgh Roman Town. By chance we were given an excellent guided tour by one of the local volunteers. Then after a walk around the village and a visit to the church we had lunch on the village green in the sunshine. In the afternoon we paid a short visit to Newby Hall  where we had a short walk around part of the estate but didn't venture into the garden or hall on this occasion. We have had a red sky this evening which bodes well for tomorrow.

Paid a visit to Holker Hall this morning. Bright and breezy but it warmed up.

Proud of MiL. She needs to walk with her 4 wheel shopping trolley but still insisted on climbing up to the top of the cascade, admittedly by zig-zag paths, but nevertheless it took an effort on her behalf to do it. She's nothing if not game.

Impressed by the gardens and variety of trees. We didn't go into the house as MiL wouldn't be able to manage. We still spent all morning there. Onwards to Booths in Ulverston for vittels.

Sun still shining as I write. Did enjoy a bottle of Ennerdale Dark Bitter. Recommended if anyone in the area and see it.

Although rain had been forecast for today it has stayed fine, if a bit breezy, and warm when in the sun. It did look that those over on the North York Moors area were treated to some quite heavy showers. We had an easy tow up from Boroughbridge to a CL west of Masham which we haven't used before.

Remember going to Holker Hall years and years ago when we went on holiday with my Mum and Dad, I remember it being a lovely day out. Your MIL is to be praised Wherenext, for getting up and on with it after her stroke, as are you. Not easy as I know from our daughter in law who has done the same. I hope you all continue to enjoy your break.

We have an old large bbq at home, which we rarely use, due to its size and having to move it and gas bottle to use it, also OH not keen on the way it cooks. We have a small Webber bbq at the caravan, which we bought second hand from friends, which we use a lot. (Partly cos the caravan oven could be better) Big discussion on whether to change it has been going on all summer. Visit to local garden centre and at the door, special offer on Webber bbq, just slightly larger than one at caravan, and a free cover. Last one left. OH quickly checked if any cheaper anywhere on internet and no. So within 2 minutes of arriving we purchased it. Quickest purchase ever made, but a good deal. Now looking up bbq recipes. But it’s pouring down at present.

What an evening we had yesterday😁 and all ten minutes from home. Wandered across our local big park, got our free tickets into concert arena, watched second, half, extra time, penalties on big screen. A refreshing beer shower🤣 then found our viewing spot for the music. Some lovely festival/street food on the go, and then the music was excellent. Local band who have made good, vowed to come back and put an event on for local folks, and they didn’t half deliver. Sort of Kaiser Chief/Arctic Monkey sound. I was really impressed with the event organisation, it’s a place where I spent part of my working life organising big events, and so pleased that the town can still deliver, much better than in my day.👏👏👏 Drone shot of early afternoon, then stage photo from later in evening.

Nice days for you WN and Nellie, and a bargain for DEBSC👏👏
