We're not that far from you, Francis, as the crow flies, but had no rain to speak of, but it has been a bit noisy and rather cool.

WN, seems that you'rd region has caught the worst of the rain. Hope it clears up soon, and you can get out and do that weeding!😄

Boiler service  didn't quite go to plan, as the engineer found a green deposit, that he was unfamiliar with, around all of the joints and some of the pipework, so they all have to be replaced. Parts ordered immediately and just waiting for a date to get the job done. Thankfully it is covered by our insurance policy, or so he said.

Away tomorrow for a short, for us, 3 night trip in the van!wink

"Best wishes for a re-opening of the road RandR. Strange that the site is "very quiet"."

Yes, I thought that WN - but according to the wardens, July and August are their quietest months - don't know why. Possibly something to do with school holidays and it being a non-facility site??

It was almost full, last week but on Sunday, there was a mass exodus and there are big open spaces all around the site now.

Looks as if the road is open now according to the AA website but I'm sure our neighbour will update us when she attempts to take little one to nursery this morning.

ABM I've looked there after your prompting. I can only see my likes not my actual posts.

It's certainly a warm welcome for new folk to CT, this is my 3rd time under the same name. Once joining, then ending membership after OH serious illness and now because of change of email address.

I did 3 quick.posts, my message says I need 3 posts before approval, in succession to get it out of the way. But it was Friday. As we know most of the world do 7 days a week but this club, despite being a 24/7 business is firmly Monday to Friday. Very user friendly if you need help or approval to chat on CT.

Out of curiosity I wonder if they can filter Facebook posts?...

And still I wait, hopefully DSB can contact Rowena and get it sorted 🤞

I just read that the issues are not ours, apparently we are all good our end, it’s our Gallic friends who won’t let us just disembark the train & pootle off into Europe they seem to want proof who we are against some ‘new rules’🤷🏻‍♂️🤣🤣🤣

Yes, sometimes UK roads are one long queue and not just at the tunnel...wink

Got up v early so that daughter could take art work to the RUH (hospital) in Bath and we could keep an eye on the dogs till she returned. Good to think hospitals have areas where people can wind down a bit and look at art. Unfortunately when she got there it sounded as though illness had struck some of the staff but we hope everything will sort itself out. We used to have some lovely art works in one of our previous medical centres in Scotland, our local one now is littered with worrying notices about what you might catch or have lurking within! Not the best things to look at when you're not feeling well.

We arrived home this afternoon after a wonderful 3 week break. Hillhead in Brixham was excellent as always one of our fave sites we have been visiting for years it was good to have daughter, gdaughter and SIL there too in their caravan. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and we spent most of our time relaxing and not really travelling too far. Finished the trip off with 2 nights at Blackpool which was good too although the weather wasn’t great cold wet and windy. Easy 4 hour tow home today M6 and M74 not busy even going through Glasgow on the M8 was surprisingly quiet. Over the past 3 weeks we have clocked up 1100 miles towing with no issues so happy about that. Caravan and car both dirty but will have to wait until the weekend to get washed. Home now until later next week then we will head off for a couple of nights in the van to one of our local sites. Hope everyone else whether at home or away are having a nice time

    Good to hear Francis.

We also hope to get away in the 'van for a few days at least over the next week or so. Probably stay relatively local. Making several plans for September as I don't know whether I'll have to hang around for tests until I see someone mid August. Haven't really had the enthusiasm for it until these last couple of days.

Gardening morning and an hour after lunch. Some of the flowers and plants we put in last year haven't taken so it looks like a trip to replenish them tomorrow.

DSB, is Englethwaite busy? Just wondering whether they are the same as NYM as reported by RandR, i.e. quiet in July and August.

I think I am going to need another holiday soon!

We had an easy return home from the lakes yesterday, left at 11, lunch at Johnstonebridge services after finding Gretna stuffed, and home about 15,40.   Essentials unloaded so we had some food for dinner and breakfast, and car emptied of awning, tables, chairs etc etc.

Today OH has implemented her 7 day "preparing for the visitors" plan, so I have been tidying all day, apart from meal breaks and going to the pharmacy for my pills.  Worn out already!   Still some tidying to finish.

Tomorrow we have to meet someone at the Guide Hall in the morning, then it will be home to more tidying and starting the big clean.  There is a lot of dust after all the building work!

You're non stop Kj. Seems like the family enjoyed themselves.

Meant to say on previous post that despite the amount of rain that has fallen in the previous 3 days it has only penetrated the first 2" or so of the soil. Still hard underneath that. I would have watered except I've had to get rid of our hose as it deteriorated in several places so am searching internet for best prices for replacement etc.

Don't know if this post will appear as I'm still not 'approved'. I was informed 1st 3 to be approved but I know I'm well passed those.

Not going to waste time typing in case it doesn't!

Wherenext if you locate a decent hose pipe please let me know. Ours is on its way out!

Oh wow! England are into the Euros Final👏👏👏 Superb 4-0 victory over the well fancied Swedes. Roll on Sunday. Great atmosphere from Bramall Lane Sheffield. South Yorkshire has rocked these last few weeks with all the games going on, lots of overseas visitors in the town and shops.

Busy old day for us, too. Got van out early, then visit to the dentist at 11:45, followed by the hygenist. Home and hitched up, towed all of 8 mls to dealers where we exchanged our van for the new one. Now on their site for 3 " free" nights to try everything out and make sure we know what's what. Only ordered the van just over 6 weeks ago, but did know that they had one coming this month. A couple of glitches when we arrived but all sorted now we hope.

Ttda,  as a certain Brucie Baby used to say :~~  Good Game,  Good Game  !!

I certainly liked that cheeky back-heeler goal , nothing like making their 'keeper look a proper charlie to give your side the edge  laughing

Nellie,  I hope that all the problems with the new 'van are Fixed, Cured, Bearable and fully WARRANTED !!  Now rest easy and read about others problems with a gentle little smile, please  innocent

Good luck with the new van Nellie, as DavidK says you certainly make good use of your vans. More interesting travels ahead!

We're booked to go away late summer but suddenly felt like a few local days away, checked out a THS at £11 or private site at £30, both alongside each other. Not too bad price wise for August.

Yes I can see Bakers2 liking posts but nothing else. Hope to see you on here again soon. I had to wait a few days when I became a 'non member'. I was told it was because Ro was on holiday but both Davids were very good at communicating with her and me. I must admit if I was a newbie and had to wait so long I would give up and go elsewhere!

I must have missed this somewhere😲 I wondered what your three night trip local was🤣 Hope everything goes well for you, no doubt your old van will be on sale shortly, one careful owner, (true), hardly used (🤣🤣)

Bit of a dull day here, but warm enough. I have a cycling commitment round Paris this morning, then we are going to try a longer walk. Staples and wound drain out yesterday, so need to crack the whip now, no shirking from the patient🤕 Sneezing is an issue though………😬

It's always a shame to see totally new CT contributors waiting several weeks, their posts go out of date.  I note the magazine has prompted people to join CT but many will wonder what's going on when they give it a go!!

I'm back 😱. Thanks for the re-welcome 😀Doesn't take too long 🤐. My only change was email address

Just stopped for lunch I'm burning weeds in the block paving. Why is it almost everything growing dries up and shrivels/turns brown/dies in this heat but the thistles and other 'weeds' lap up the heat and shoot upwards? Had to whizz the mower over the edge of the front grass areas so it doesn't look so untidy. The greensward areas aren't worth writing about, I'm so glad I haven't attempted to improve it from clover/buttercup/thistles since we moved in as it would have even a total waste of effort - which can be used elsewhere in the house that jack built 🤐🤐

Right excitement over. Enjoy your day folks

Edit thank you DSB for intervening to get my posts approved. I'm grateful but it really shouldn't be necessary!
