That's really good news, tda. Hope that you are able to keep up with demand!!😊
Glad you had a good time down at Grantham, and that the site suited your requirements. We would certainly use it again if down that way.

Grand photos, M. There are some lovely villages all round that area, a few of which we visited when we were that way early in the year. Must remembered the dog friendly pub in Bolton.
Enjoy your stay over in Cornwall, Redkite. Hope the weather stays fine for your stay.
Glad that you had a great time up in Yorkshire, Helen. Going back to work must be a bond now.
Nice to see that you have finally got some warm sunny weather and were able to get in for a dip, AD.

Gosh some different but equally interesting holiday locations and it sounds as though we're in for a continued dry spell in the UK, so not a bad time to be away.

Hope your "project" meets with success TDA.
We have packed our garden away for a few days, having a rest and hope to be off ourselves soon, another Bank Holiday looming but not quite so busy as Easter in the SW.
How is Flyte Nellie? Any signs of improvement?
Hope you get your van sorted TG, at least there's a chance to get a repair done before you leave.

How is Flyte Nellie? Any signs of improvement?
Thanks for asking brue. We doubt that there will be any improvement in his vision, but he is now getting round the house much better and when we head out he is walking well, but we will keep him on his lead unless we go to the beach.
Sorry to read that you are having problems with your M/H, TG. Hope that you are able to get it fixed in time for your trip over there.

Good to read folks news.
Sad about Flyte hope he can adapt I know you'll take good care of him.Tammygirl hope the motorhome is sorted satisfactorily very soon.
Loving our new abode abandoned box emptying for the garden 🥰🥰. About another 18 boxes to go but will have to forage again now Internet and land line up and running.
Loving this glorious weather.
Hope everyone is enjoying their days. No time to post ......1 -
nellie Sorry to hear that you doubt there will be much improvement in Flyte's vision but pleased to hear that he seems to be learning how to adapt. They seem to be much better than us humans at adapting.
Have a good time 'over here' RK and you seem to be having a wonderful time 'over there' AD. I hope you manage to get your MH sorted for your trip 'over there' TG.
No much to report from here as we are still testing positive so still self isolating

Sorry to hear that you are still stuck indoors Millie, hope that you aren’t feeling too poorly, and at least you got to see the family before it ‘struck’.
So glad to hear that you love your new home Bakers, it would seem that the wait and upheaval was worth while.
Well we failed in our bidding for the fourth time on the latest house. We went quite a way over the asking price, now we know that is expected, only to find that another, we believe, went £25,000 over, and could pay cash. OH more disappointed this time than me. At least we only waited 5 days to hear this time, unlike the usual week or more. The waiting to hear is proving too stressful for me, and that’s before we start proper, so we may now, either stop and try again in the autumn now we are armed with the knowledge of how it works these days, or just stop where we are.
Turning my mind to doing different things now and getting out and about, other than wait to view houses, and the weather is so lovely.

Our experiment with the camper and trailer combo is working
We are on our first CCC site at St Neots with plenty of staff , more this year according to the managers, to make sure the club do not have to close sites as last year
There is no early morning bin runs as all rubbish is put in the euro bin out side the barriers by members and no complaints have been received
The staff cannot believe that the cc have already introduced add charges to cover for electric power increases

We drove round to the other side of Pendle Hill today to the village of Barley to do the "three villages walk" Barley, Roughlee and Newchurch.
This is "witch country" and in Roughlee there is a statue commemorating the youngest of the Pendle witches, Alice Nutter (yes, really! ) who was hanged in 1612 along with 9 others. She is buried in the graveyard at Newchurch".
The story of the "Pendle witches" is a fascinating, though rather sad tale.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pendle_witches
We had intended to walk the Pendle Sculpture Trail after lunch, but it was warming up nicely and the dogs were flagging (well, that's my story!) so we decided to leave it for next time.

Sorry to hear about Flyte NTH amazing what dogs can do as we know from having two Springers, met a young Springer here at Merrose owner said do you know a lot about Springer as she was very friendly with me as said yes having had 2 she was only 2 years but very well behaved. a few outfits here again h/s only but site looking very good and all grass areas cut compared to Looe who have a lot of grass still to do and tractor mower playing up.
Chores tomorrow ie. washing etc. Weather sunny but a strong northerly wind blowing but forecast looks dry while we are here which is good news.
Hope folks enjoy their breaks away.

Moulesy,
Mrs WN has a book by Harrison Ainsworth, first published in the middle of the 19th.Century called "The Lancashire Witches" and her Lancashire born Grandfather used to read her extracts from the book when she was a little girl. The thing is that some of the book is told in a Lancashire country dialect and her GF knew how to speak this dialect so she's always had good memories from the book even though the subject matter which deals with the local women and Alice Nutter herself isn't pleasant at all. I'm enclosing a photo of the cover and a page picked at random which contains some of the dialect. You may need to open them up in a separate page and zoom in to get the best out of them.
She's had the book for well over 55 years now and knows the area well.
Sounds like you are having a grand time (again)!

Tried to load the insert from the book before but computer playing up. Gives you an idea of what the book was about, mixing a story in with reality. Once again might be best opening up in a separate page and magnifying.

After my visit to the doctor's last Wednesday I was expecting to have to phone up today for the date of my hospital appointment. However I got a phone call yesterday asking if I could come in today as there had been a cancellation, all confirmed by text this morning too. Visit went as well as could be hoped, as I can get the BCC removed locally, and should expect the date to be within the next 4-6 weeks, confirmed within the next couple of days. Once we have that we can organise our next trip away. 😄 I will of course have to self isolate for 3 day prior to the op, after having a Covid test. Fingers crossed that it proves negative.

My home patch! We live in Newchurch in Pendle.
The stream near Alice’s statue is a very good spot for dippers, they nest ever year under the bridge. And you didn’t miss much with the sculpture trail, it’s seen better days, kids still love it though. 🙂

We visited NT Knightshayes Court in Devon yesterday. Hadn't been for a few years and there were big improvements to parking and walking. The formal gardens are looking good with lots of azaleas and flowering shrubs, very bright and cheerful. Took a view of the house before my phone stopped working, need to sort something out.

Margaret had to go to the hospital for new hearing aids today. Rather than pay to park I nipped over to the MK Marina where there is loads of free parking and she phones when she is ready for collection. For quite some time whilst I was sitting in the car I could see a Heron on one of the narrowboats. I had a wander over to have a better look and took the picture below. Not as good a quality as I would like but not sure phone is designed as telephoto lens!

We've also had fun with a mobile today. We need a second phone but don't want anything too fancy. We were in a Tesco Extra the other day and found a Moto phone similar in function to our existing one. Fine. Can we pay using vouchers? Yep. Great. Off home to get them. I knew we had lost some so tried to access Tesco online. Yep - Server error!!
Not just CAMC then! So rang them. Upshot, can't use vouchers said man who checked. Damn. Anyway we were passing Tesco Extra today so called in to see if they had a slightly different model in. Just arrived today, so we made a decision to buy it there rather than Amazon. Pity we can't use vouchers we said. But you can they said. Head Office say you can't because they only deal with contract sales. We only wanted a sim free phone but H.O. didn't tell us that. So off home we went to get vouchers!! So new phone cost us £30.
We did have a second phone but we seem to have lost the wind-up handle somewhere.

First part of the day spent at Burton RSPB reserve again. We only popped in for 15 minutes but stayed for 3 hours. Can't believe the new growth that has happened to the trees and bushes in just over a week. Lovely morning. Filled up with diesel. Some pumps out of stock still.

We walked another lovely stretch of the River Ribble today, from Clitheroe all the way to Grindleton, upstream one side and down stream in the other. It is crossed by several fine ancient arched bridges (and one hideous modern one at Grindleton) and under this one at West Bradford we watched a heron waiting patiently to catch a late breakfast (he's there somewhere, honest!
). The landowners around here obviously have a sense of humour - thank goodness we taught the dogs to read!
One the way back we walked through Brungerley Park past several animal sculptures including this nice one of an otter with his supper.
And to round things off, we stopped off to pay a visit to Clitheroe's number one attraction - no, not the castle!

Happy day, MH is now fixed and we are back on track for going to France next week.
The problem was the airbag control module. OH got it out on Monday and managed to get it in the post at 16.45 to Crash data in Liverpool. They received it at 11.00 on Tuesday, repaired it and put it back in the post that day. We got it this morning (Wednesday) at 11.00 and by 12.00 OH had fitted it back in the MH and all working as it should. No more red warning lights.
What a brilliant company, the repair was a quarter of the cost of getting and fitting a new module. That's if you could get one.
Stressful few days over, got results of my cholesterol test this afternoon. More good news, Dr says they are down significantly but still a little higher than they would like, keep up the good work and re test in 6 months. 😊

Delighted to hear your good news, Tammyg -- now continue to be a good girl and get those figures down still further

Now Brian's off to climb those wooden hills since today saw the arrival of latest Steam Mag and with it the final part of theSteam Events Guide [ part 2 ] so I'll be uber busy tomorrow, working out where I won't be going this year.
Sweet Dreams y'all

Glad to read the Motorhome is all ready to go, Tammygirl... have a lovely time. Hope others who are away also have a great time.
We're just up the road to Conkers C&CC site with friends. The problem with 'just up the road' is the temptation that normal commitments carry on very much as usual.... 😀

Just had my annual Doctors MOT. (A year late🤣) All seems fine, hoping to come off the one tablet I take🤞 Mum day for me, trying to think,of something to amuse a frisky 93 year old🤔

How about a frisky 93 year old man? There must be one somewhere.

Good news on the health front.
Big shopping day as we got in the remainder of food for MiL, this time all of the fresh stuff that I repackage into appropriate sized portions and freeze them for her. She manages fine when we're away.
Had a long chat with my brother. His son's wedding is fast approaching and you can tell the frazzle factor has increased significantly. Thank goodness we decided on a small registry office one all those years ago. We will be missing from the big day and nephew and family are all happy with that and with the reasons behind it.
