Brue sorry to hear that you are still suffering with your cold and hope you get a better night's sleep tonight. I am glad to hear your weed spraying neighbour is going. We have lost our nice young Latvian neighbours. They have rented the house for 5 years and have now decided to buy. The orginal owners still own the house but moved about 12 years ago and decided to rent it out. He came over today to check the house over and popped in to see us. It was really good to see him as we were neighbours and friends for nearly 20 years. They are always careful about who they rent to and said it will be a family moving in about 2 weeks after they have had some new carpets put in and done a bit of redecorating. We wait to see how it works out.

Struggling to say anything reasonable on here tonight -- no problems with the Forum

but watching / listening to Les Mis on Freeview 11 -- Sky Arts and that's much better than composing Brian's 'Not So Witiscisms' on here.
I think Ball & Boe are doing a good job as a partnership !!

Will check out Portway, Nellie, thanks.
Kjell, I forgot to mention that it does have a toilet, although due to Covid it wasn't open the last time we visited.
Edit. Good to see that you have got fully sorted, enjoy your trip.

Just have to mention a TV programme that I saw earlier today where a young lady takes goods bound for the tip & 'up cycles' them, or has others do that for her. Then sells them & passes any profit back to the Original Dumpers
.Todays prog shewed her taking an old TENT , passing it to one of her friends to do what he could with it.
After a while he had turned the TENT into Thirty or so Tote and shopping bags which brought in the staggering profit of about £400 or so I recall ( possibly over stated but blooming heck
) Think I will spend tomorrow going thro' my wardrobe cos I do fancy being a millionaire without buying a lottery ticket

Pleased to see that you have made it to Wirral CP ok, WN. Have you taken the bikes?
Sorry to read about your continued cold, brue, hope you are better soon.
A grey start to the day but it steadily brighten up. Managed to get today's washing dried outside again this afternoon. Two more coastal walks, one from each end of North Berwick. Last night here before our next move north west to Linlithgow.

I liked the statue photo Nellie, I thought at first you were sporting super wet weather gear!
Brian I can never work out whether it's better to sell a million small items at £1 or one item at 1 million. Hope you find something useful to cut up!!

Thanks for good wishes, I am up early for food delivery and had a proper sleep last night.

Brue glad to read you had a proper sleep last night, and I wish you many more to come.
Glorious morning here, but I suspect there may have been an early frost.
Going out with the dog shortly then I need to do a bit of a shop. Cancelled tomorrow's delivery slot Saturday as I won't reach the minimum order without a picking fee. Trying to use up stock stuff and prefer to go out and choose my fresh produce these days - can't say its cos tge levels are down and folks being sensible with masks and distancing, cos they're not! But rejecting stuff when delivered doesn't fill the fridge!
Stay safe folks and keep preserving with the posts, something to read over a cuppa is good, especially as I don't have to tear myself away to keep pottering forward 😉 unlike earlier days when posts appeared faster than you could read them. Anyone recall those halcyon days?? 😂😂
Sorry if I've missed anyone, I'm reading but not always retaining! Daren't switch pages to check - you loose your started post and may not get to post at all......

Glad you slept well last night, Brue, with a bit of luck it could be the start of " sleepy Spring " for you
. Hope its the same for me 'cos I'm busy doing the washing -- loads of stuff getting a scrub including duvet cover etc etc so no wrinkles in my bed tonight or at least I hope not ! Also busy bagging the 'shredded Paper waste' having sorted the accounts ==> dare not let the world know how the pennies are mounting / disappearing

Hope your shopping trip has given you a new view on life, Bakers2, for a few days at least
. I'll be doing a little shop tomorrow in between visiting Aged Sister and later visiting my friends who have both been a) in hospital separately for a few days then b) visiting said establishments for check-ups on said complaints
. Ah Well { as the scientists used to say } Must get back to grafting & scrubbing --> stay safe & enjoy this nice bright ## Monday, Monday ##

Its Margaret's Birthday today. One of the cards she got has wild flower seeds embedded in the paper. The idea being that once you have finished with the card you can bury the card in the garden and the seeds will give you a wild flow display. Not come across this before!

Happy birthday to Margaret 🎂🥂🥳
out of interest was it a card from the British Heart Foundation? They sell some with seeds but as they're sealed don't know how they are in the card. I haven't liked the designs enough for my purposes so not bought one.
Watching paint dry is more useful than this site this afternoon. I'm resting up I have felt shattered, exhausted and achy for the last few days, still testing negative, so been popping on, and not getting on, for a couple if hours. Did manage a nod, sorry siesta 😉, on the conservatory couch in the sun. Can't say it's helped much.

Hope you feel better soon B2, better to have a rest and conserve your energy!
Hope Margaret is having a good birthday David, the seed card sounds nice.
It has finally been warm and sunny here, OH has been gardening and I've got a few jobs done. Took the dog out for a walk, haven't been out for a few days so enjoyed it. 🐶

Did I read the UK described as "cold, dark, wet and crowded" somewhere on the forum?

This was the scene on Porthcothan beach at midday today - we had walked along the coast from Bedruthan and had the beach, literally, all to ourselves!

It’s been like that all day today. Great to see the sun and blue sky and it should be like that most of the week.
Fabulous pic, M.

Happy birthday to Margaret. The card sounds like a lovely idea. I will look out for one.
Hope you feel better soon Bakers2. I might be your body telling you that you have done too much lately. Take care.
Lovely photo moulesy. That sky and beach look so inviting. Lady and Ralph look happy too.
Glad to hear that you had a better night's sleep and got out today.
We have had the same beautiful weather. I met some friends for coffee in a local garden centre this morning. It was so good to be out in this lovely weather. The guy came to repair and replaster our utility room ceiling today. A really nice young man and he did an excellent job. I have never known such a clean and tidy worker. OH has also put a new blind up in our shower room today so it is all happening here.

Edit: brue the comment about the better night was meant for you but I forgot to mention your name. Sorry 🙄

"Twas a lovely day up on the Wirral coast as well as we walked from the site to Red Rock Sands, near Hoylake. A cold wind mind but some of the walk is sheltered. Plenty of dog walkers out on the beach and the dogs didn't seem to mind the wind at all!😁
No Nellie, we didn't. I've been given a bit of a talking to! So am minding my Ps&Qs at the moment and behaving myself. We did have chance on the walk to stop and have a coffee and let Mrs WN do a sketch or two so I suppose it was less energetic that way, if you know what I mean. Personally I just think she was getting some stops into me.

Good to hear you slept well Brue. I hate it when I can't sleep.
We did plan to have a meal with my cousin and her hubby this week but have just found out that they have caught the dreaded Covid. A near miss for us.
Wonder how the Kjs are getting on with it in the house?

"below me ... ?". Not sure why you felt compelled to comment really, David - I guess it just goes to show the truth of the saying that, for some folk "every silver lining has a cloud" - not that there were any of those around today! 👍

Nice, but let’s get real….as far as I can recall for many days prior to today in Cornwall it’s been wet, overcast with the occasional named storm for good measure. I’ve been waiting to cut my lawn for weeks, but sadly missed my opportunity today being in Weston-s-Mare for yet more warranty work from Davans. However, even Weston looked good in the sunshine😎
The average summer day in the UK is 17c, breezy with a 50% chance of rain - that’s how it is.

Our grass was cut about 10 days ago as it was dry enough even back then. 🤷🏻♂️

+1 re cutting grass TW, I’ve been watering overwintered plants due to them growing fast & drying out here. Sunday for a big family outing to Dalby Forest without coat beaut day up on the Bridestones👍🏻

Seems the good weather wasn't just in my backyard then. How nice to be able to get out and enjoy it 👍

Miserable day weatherwise here, but better news on the health front.
I finish my isolation in the morning, so can go to fetch the caravan, OH did her day 6 test first thing and was negative, so if her day 7 one in the morning is also negative, she can come along. She worries when I am out alone it seems!
We are both feeling pretty much back to normal, coughs and colds gone.
Callum and Nathan are back at nursery, but Mummy is still not feeling great, mainly a constant headache.

Sunny yesterday and probably sunny today, in fact I can't believe the weather forecast for the week. Definitely not dark and cold up here. So yes grass will need cutting at some point, but maybe not by me.

It started on its growing cycle a few weeks ago I noticed, Mother Nature knows the Spring weather has sprung MrC👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻. The sun is warm on the face instead of just a source of light😊

We planted some acorns in a triough last year, which nearly all sprouted and grew into tiny sapling's and this week since returning home have noticed that they are all in bud
We also have plenty of frogspawn in the pond and lots of noise from the residents
Cloudless blue skies since Saturday
Although next doors fence is still in disrepair since the storms

I think there's been a run on fence panels thanks to the storms JVB. What are you going to do with your mini forest?! OH was in the garden yesterday digging up palm tree seedlings, our big Chusan palm set seeds during lockdown and we'll have to pass them on to our village plant sale. Turn the village into a rain forest....

Glad to hear Kj and spouse are feeling better. Hope your daughter recovers soon.

You are helping save the planet JV-nice one👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻. I have Norway Maples & Manchurian Ash. The Maples are 9 with true leaves & a further 4 with seed leaves the others may have failed, Manchurian Ash are notoriously difficult🤷🏻♂️. I stopped with the Horse Chestnut once the GK’s started in School🙂. HC’s are guarantees & the collecting of them were as much for my benefit as the GK’s😂
