If I "wus u Ttda" I'd stick to the tunnel. Seriously. We have no problems but it has been rough once or twice.

    Sad news Moulesy.

Had a smashing day, spent at Frampton Marshes. Lots of interesting birds to see and, although a cold easterly was out and about, the weather behaved.

    Hope one and all well.

Ttda, AA man was going to drive the 20 miles to collect new battery for us but we had to go that way anyway. We followed him down just in case. Have had bad service from AA in past but can't fault this call out.

You could well be right. Don’t forget I was diagnosed “seasick” in MH at Bolton Abbey a few years ago. That was an afternoon in Airedale District General, full ambulance job to my lasting embarrassment. Doesn’t take much to have me gipping. 🤢😬 I like to test out the Club Site staff every now and then, they were absolutely marvellous I can tell you👏👏

We now have a shower panel in place, door is next to go in. Nightmare of a job fitting stuff into an old house, that is what most of the slow progress is about. Some of our walls veer off from true by a good amount, and these are fully tiled walls, so it takes some sorting out, but going to look nice once it is finished, in keeping with existing look of bathroom. In between, I am making some jellyfish earrings for my SIL. Challenging, but getting there.

Pleased to read that your blood tests were ok, Francis. Hope you find sites for those weekends away.

Sounds like a good day on the Marshes, WN.

It has been another beautifully sunny day with little wind after heavy frost in the night. We took in another monument today, this one after a good walk and a bit of a climb, but we'll worth it for the 360 degree view. There is still snow on the distant tops of the Southern Uplands and The Cheviot.

Don’t forget Soutra Aisle Nellie, unless you have been. Might be closer to East Fortune for you. There’s a lovely cafe cum deli cum craft/gift shop in Humbie not far away.

Glad those away are having a good time.😁👍

    👍 Will suss it out.

Edit Just seen that it's not open till weekend in mid April, so may not be worth a long (for us) drive to visit the site, from either CL. Have been there in the past from Lauder, and will be passing the road to it as we change sites.

I'd guessed that you would know the places we've visited, but I wonder how many others can identify them?

When we collected our MH from its habitation service a couple of weeks ago, it was a bit late to bring it home to reload. As yesterday was a fairly nice dry day we brought it back to do that. When fetching it I noted the price of fuel and decided to top up the tank when returning it to storage later. After plugging it in to let the inside warm up a bit. OH emptied the boxes I brought out, whilst I sorted the garage. It’s a much easier job than we made it with the caravan, as not only did we cut down on stuff that rarely if ever got used, there is just the one small locker in which I put the EHU and TV cables and an easy access garage. I never could remember where everything fitted in the numerous small caravan spaces.😂 Taking it back I pulled into the filling station, the price had risen 3p a litre whilst we had been out to £158.9.😱 However, I suppose one shouldn’t complain at least all we’ve to contend with is rising prices.

Nellie, that looks familiar but can't place it in my memory.

Steve, I think we'll be needing to reduce the loads we carry around, it might help a bit?!

Booked to see the Jim Broadbent film today.

Very cold but OH got the lawns cut yesterday which has tidied things up a bit. Chatting to friend staying in N France this morning, sounds just as chilly there.

So difficult to get on this web site, apologies if I've missed posts.

The Duke  sounds like a film even I might like to see Brue. Enjoy it. Leave a review.

Quiet day here. Went to nearby Gunby Hall. Had a good walk around the estate.

Another year rolls around and tomorrow will be another wedding anniversary day for us. I have a surprise in stall for my beloved.

I haven't told her which CL we're moving to tomorrow!😂

I bet she'll be thrilled with my thoughtfulness. Sometimes I surprise myself. I'll let you know how well it goes down in the evening.

WN  I hope that your beloved appreciates the trouble that you have gone to to please her.wink Congratulations for tomorrow.

Brue l'll leave the solution to its  identity for another day to see if anyone can identify  it. Here's  today's monument,  not as impressive in size but more poignant.

WN - Congratulations for tomorrow and I hope Mrs WN likes the surprise :)

Been a bit of a frustrating day today was told to be at the tyre place first thing this morning but when I got there they hadn’t been delivered yet so didn’t get them fitted until after 5 this afternoon. Headed straight down to the Ranch after getting the tyres fitted and collected the caravan to bring home. Not the best night for towing as it was very windy but I just took it easy but the van was certainly getting blown around still it’s only a 45 min tow so not bad van now back in it’s space on the drive. Still wet and windy here we even had lightening earlier on

cool Well, as many will know ,(by my history) i spend a lot of time on the I.o.W .BUT, ,but not this time ,,this year. Having had a messed up Christmas & New Year by the usual site i frequent ,,also the price of fuel over there recently escalated to over £177 for diesel ,due mainly to lack of tanker supplies ,,& a possible limit on purchase SO, ,so next week I'm off to Looe C&MC site  for a few days R.&.R .Not been there since living there in the 70s !! ".A change is as good as a rest " ,so it's said .wink.

Moho had a clean bill of health on Monday with damp check and MOT. Stripped down my old bike yesterday for some TLC. Hadn't had a proper clean in 30 years! embarassed

Most of the grime seems now stuck stubbornly under my fingernails not helped by not being able to find my tub of Swarfega.

If you put sugar crystals on your hands, and washing up liquid, works even better!😁

Is that a push bike, or a motor bike CY?

Great news about Shackleton’s ship Endurance. The photos are amazing.

    Have a nice anniversary WN.

Yesterday was glorious here, so I took Mum and Sis for a good drive out to enjoy scenery. We had a coffee and a picnic at the Strines Inn, high up on moors, explored a bit round there, (so much for the environment, heather moors ablaze, couldn’t get out of car at one bit for all smoke🤷‍♀️) then motored across to Derwent Valley area, through Hope and Castleton. Fun going up Winnats Pass as there were sheep everywhere, folks having to get out and shoo them off road to get up and down. We enjoyed the scenery at the top for a while, watching folks doing the Skyline Walk, then over the top of Mam Nick, and Edale spread out before us, lovely drive back to Hope behind Mam Tor and Lose Hill. Lots of snowdrops, daffys, and newborn lambs. Easy drive home then past Fox House, Longshaw and back via Holmesfield and Eckington.( Anything to avoid Sheffield City centre). Mum was very tired, but said she had enjoyed it. Glad longer days are here now, more chance to get her out. Not bad today either, so might get out in garden today🤞

TtDA,  I agree about  Shackleton's Ship but the comments about it's condition would worry me !  If it is in such good condition, as reported, will the insurance company be after a bit of 'pay back ' perhaps ??

Now Humour time is overfrown. Weekly visit to aged sister yesterday and she told me she had fallen in the spare bedroom when checking the cat's bed ( It's where Misty Moggy hides when a certain daft whippet visits ).  Apparently it took her about ten minutes  firstly to crawl into her bedroom, and then a further ten mins to actually get up to sit on the bed.  The daft bat wears, after some discussion, a 'Panic Button' on her wrist - which she knows works since it brought help when she had a heart attack eighteen months ago.  But why didn't she use the b#######y thing ?  Well I felt alright , says she !!  Could not get up, had no phone to hand but I didn't want to be a nuisance  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!

Are ALL older siblings such a thundering bunch of { ~#~#~#~#~#~ } --  Answers in triplicate on A4 Kitchen roll please !

I hope your Sister is Ok Brian, worrying. Independence and not wanting to bother loved ones and others is difficult. We had it with Mum and Dad. It’s not until you start to spend time with your parents, etc…. that you realise just how many tasks have become a lot harder for them, how much they can no longer do safely without help. My Nan broke both her wrists climbing onto a chair to wind her clock at the age of 85. I recall how much more time consuming and hard it was for Mum and Dad to have to look after her and my Grandad, so it’s a lesson I drilled into Mum, and one I hope I am sensible enough to learn myself. Very hard though, it’s a concession that one is ageing. I think of all the little tasks I have to do knelt on floor nowadays, before I get up🤣 Mum bless her is still 21, won’t use a stick, a wheelchair, not always receptive to an arm…….until she buckles and we catch her, and then she accepts a helping hand. We would give her a couple of hours survival time on her own, and then only if she had an hour’s Kip🤣🤣 Good that she has alarm system, just needs to use it now.👍

Another learning curve ,take key from scooter whenever she says she will wait outsidesurprised

Sad to see the moorland fires TDA, just as the nesting season is starting. Nice that you had a good day out with your Mum.

Yesterday we went to the cinema in the afternoon and saw "The Duke," Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren were on top form. It's a very entertaining true story and an uplifting experience to sit through.  There were only six of us in the cinema so it was like a private viewing with a witty running commentary from a couple of elderly ladies sitting behind us, in fact this added to the enjoyment. wink

The next outing we've booked is Henry Vth, being broadcast in a small local theatre from the Donmar Theatre in London. However I think we might give it a miss as the producer's had the bad luck to set it using full on modern military warfare and even the hardbitten critics couldn't cope with this in the present circumstances and I don't think we can either. frown

Going to stick to an Agatha Christie play coming to our main theatre soon. It's nice to escape for an hour or two.

We've been to Wincanton this morning to pick up some items from a printers so we motored on to Stourhead. It was very cold there, so we nearly gave up, but the Spread Eagle Pub has finally opened again and we sat by the fire for a coffee and cake. As we came out so did the sun so we walked the whole circuit except for one bit near one of the "temples" where landscaping work is being carried out, the entrance by a grotto was closed off.

Recently dogs have been allowed at Stourhead and things have improved further, an area of the restaurant/cafe has been set aside for dog owners. I missed this opportunity as I went in for a sandwich and another coffee and plonked Mr Brue outside with the dog in a shelteres spot. Next time if it's cold we won't be getting a "take away!" wink

Stourhead looked very attractive as thousands of small wild daffodils have been planted (hardy souls volunteering for that job!) and it was lovely to see.

WN, hope the surpise CL goes down well, Happy Anniversary to you both. 🥂

And now for something completely different, our drains are blocked so must go and help! laughing

Thanks David, I am feeling fine and have had no symptoms at all, hopefully my day 6 and 7 LFTs will be negative and I will be "released from custody"

Unfortunately DD now has covid, she lost her sense of taste and smell on Sunday, took a PCR test on Monday, and was confirmed positive on Tuesday.  Not really surprising as she has been the one looking after Callum.

She is feeling poorly, sore head, sore chest, tired, coughing, runny nose......and she is triple vaccinated.   Her OH seems OK so far.

Callum's LFTs both yesterday and today (days 6 and 7) are still positive, so he still has to stay home, however he is feeling much better.

Little Nathan apparently has a cold, but may well also have covid.

After 3 lovely sunny days, today is thoroughly miserable......cold, wet and now windy.   OH went out for shopping earlier so managed to mainly avoid the rain, I did a bit of work in the bathroom, sealing up the edges of the floor  before finally installing the units, but this cold weather is not conducive to being out in the garage working on the counter top, so progress is very slow.

I am sorry that your daughter has covid and is feeling poorly KjellNN. I hope she feels better soon.

That sounds like a grand day out tda.

I hope your sister is OK ABM. Indepence can be really difficult to deal with sometimes.

My little car passed it's MOT yesterday - hooray. Today we have had the boiler serviced. Monday we are having the utility room ceiling repaired and replastered after a leak we had from our shower room a few weeks ago.  We lead such an exciting life  😅

Sorry to read about your Covid woes KjellNN, hope everyone feels better soon.

Good to read all trips are going well, and that you enjoyed a nice day out Brue, even if it was a bit cold. Good to know NT Stourhead is now a bit more dog friendly,  we've booked a CL in Somerset for later in the year and it was on our "to visit" list.

Hope Mr & Mrs Wherenext have had a lovely anniversary.
