Yes we know it, quite well. Are the "swans" still on the pond? Hope the weather improves and you get a good day out at Gibraltar Point. Certainly sounds like good service from the AA.👍

Sorry to hear you've tested positive Kj. Hope you all recover quickly.

I'm about to take the dog out, hoping it's a bit warmer than yesterday. I've bought a couple of roses that need planting and some bits of hedging are heeled in waiting for their spot too.

We enjoyed a visit to the area you're in WN but sorry to hear you've had car problems. Good to hear the breakdown service was OK.

That’s interesting WN, and very relevant for us. We were not happy that Nationwide had opted to use AA! Our experiences of AA, albeit when used by other family members have not been good in the past, and we have never joined, preferring Green Flag and RAC. They might have upped their game a bit if working with Nationwide. We decided to give it a go until we had experienced using AA via bank, see what happened. So that’s good feedback for us thanks.

Hope everyone out and about having good trips.

We are home after a great first weekend this season. Site wasn’t too busy although it was only their first weekend open this year and some improvements have been made over the winter and it’s looking great. We had nice sunny weather all weekend and yesterday had a great day down at Portpatrick lovely place and recommended to anyone who happens to be in the area. As I said on a post yesterday we hit a pot hole on the way back to the van yesterday luckily not far from site so managed to get it back to site but this morning it was completely flat and our Volvo only has a space saver. After a bit of research last night it would appear that these are not recommended when towing so we came home today minus the van which is still on site luckily we know the site owners well and there was no issue leaving the van there tonight and I can go and collect it tomorrow afternoon after getting new back tyres. Not too bothered as both back tyres were needing replaced anyway but my hands been forced now so will get them tomorrow. We are only 30 miles from the site so not much of a hassle to go and collect the van tomorrow better that than damaging it or the car. Sunny here at home so when we got back I gave the Volvo a clean our drive looks very empty without the van sitting in it’s space.

Hope everyone else has had a nice weekend. Our next scheduled weekend away isn’t until nearer the end of the month

Thanks for all the good wishes, I have no symptoms and am feeling fine.

OH is testing daily and still negative today.  I am banned from the kitchen....quite nice to be waited on and not have to help out!   DD had suggested I sleep on the sofa, but I was allowed to use my bed as they are well apart.

Spent my time in the garage working on the bathroom countertop.  Another lovely sunny day, but cold in the air.

Francis I know how it feels not having a proper spare wheel. Our Volvo too only has a skinny spare, and we had a puncture while away with the van a few years ago in Norfolk after hitting a deep pothole. I managed to get back to our CL safely, changed onto the spare and searched out a tyre depot, where they changed both front tyres, just to be on the safe side. It's going to be yet another expensive weekend for CT members. Good to read that you get the car cleaned.😄

It started off dull here, after another hard frost in the night, but came out fine and Sunnyvale no wind to speak of. We visited a Roman fort, a couple of well known view points, an impressive statue, a ruined Abbey and had a walk along by a famous fishing river. 'Twas a good day out all told.

We were at Brighton a few weeks back, and had a good few days.  Good location...

Had some terrible news yesterday. One of our neighbour's sons was killed in a road accident, struck by a HGV having got out of his own car which had left the road.  Only in his 30's and with a 10 year old daughter. A shock to us all.

(Posted before M’s on that awful accident) Nice one M 🤣🤣

I am pleased things are starting to get better for us all. Those who like to go overseas can get out there again, while those of us happy to enjoy things in UK might find it a bit easier to get a pitch this coming year. I did look at a few cottages yesterday. Lots of big price cuts for some, so that’s a plus for those of us who like going away in cottages as well.

Whatever, and wherever floats your boat…….enjoy!👍

Sobering news on the accident, terrible for that family☹️

That’s good news then AD👍 Good to hear ferries still going via Hull. What is that crossing like in terms of sea conditions generally? I am super wary of ferries having suffered extreme seasickness in the past. Quite fancy Ireland, but only if OH took MH and I could fly out.

It must be an age thing, I never used to have problems, have done Greek ferries in really rough conditions in past.

Trying hard to recover from a surprising phone message from the Surgery this morning. They are trying to arrange for unused bandages etcetera to be returned to either of the surgeries so they can be packed and despatched to the relevant Ukraine Appeal.

So glad to see that even our home based medics  are finding a route to help out in this awful situation

I remember coming back from Holland to Hull - many years ago on the first trip of one of the new 'super-ferries'. It was blowing Force 11 - to the extent that you could hear the ferry crashing back into the sea after it was lifted up! I remember thinking "I hope they have built this thing properly".

Being hardened 'yotties', it didn't bother us much but there were a lot of green faces aroundsurprised

We were a few hours late in docking as the river was so rough, we had to sit off the estuary entrance until the wind eased off.

Been a lovely bright sunny day here today again but very very cold. Went to the tyre place this morning but had to order them in so the car is booked in first thing in the morning to get two new rear tyres fitted then I can head down and collect the caravan in the afternoon.

Good news today 4 monthly blood test came back all ok so happy with that it’s always a worry waiting on the result. Spending this evening looking for sites to book for some weekends away in the coming months.

I am losing the will to live trying to get on this site this past week

Sorry to hear that KjellNN has tested positive as well as Callum. I hope you both recover soon.

Sorry to hear both WN and Francis have had an expensive time on their recent trips. I hope both cars behave themselves in future.

I hope the sun has made an appearance in Lanzarote and that you are enjoying some warmth TG.

You sound as though you are having a good trip and visiting some interesting places nth

Belated birthday greetings to tda and her mum.

An uneventful week here with nothing of much interest to report.
