Ouch☹️That sounds very painful. I hope all goes well for her.
We have had a lovely at home day today. Weather has been very nice (or frightening, depending on your point of view…..15c, that ain’t a Yorkshire Winter!🤔), so I have been in garden most of day doing some tidying. Loads of bulbs coming through, and far too much new growth on other plants, they might pay the price next week. But it doesn’t half raise the spirits being outdoors and seeing things flourishing. OH had a good day as well, changed an ignition switch on MH that had been playing up. Only took him 30 minutes, and the part cost £6, so ya boo sucks to the dealers. Then he replaced filler cover on Jeep for a posh one we have had waiting to go on since we bought it.
Nice easy meal for the four of us tomorrow. Forecast is good weather wise.Meantime, a Happy New Year to everyone🥳

Hope you sister's OP went ok today, DSB.
Spot on, tda. Might make it into the cafe this trip.
Pleased to read that you managed to get some gardening done, and OH did well with the vehicles. Enjoy your meal with the family tomorrow.
After another round of washing, as the day was fine, warm and breeze, we had a short walk before lunch in the van, and then went to Longshaw Estate for our afternoon walk. Surprised just how many others were out there, including lots of families.
Happy New Year to all.

I have been pottering in the garage today, while OH went out to fetch prescriptions and a final shop for this year. We needed milk as I boobed yesterday and got landed with a carton that went out of date today.
We have frozen most of it for later, and OH got fresh today. She went to M&S, quite busy and no "party food" left, then Aldi......very quiet, and no "party food" left..........so no party for us tonight!
She did get other stuff, so we will not starve.
Just us here tonight.......as usual at New Year for many years now....... may have face time with DD and son later. Nathan has taken to "partying" for a couple of hours around 2am, so DD is exhausted and sleep deprived.
We have Baileys, Sherry, and Prosecco, and have made ice, plus crisps, dip, and nuts, and a plethora of chocolate, so will survive! DD and family are going to the in-laws for lunch tomorrow, so will just be us here.
Godt Nytt Aar fra oss her i Glasgow, haaper 2022 blir ei god aar for alle.
Kan bare blir bedre enn 2021!!

I hope your sister's op went well today David.
After a wet first thing this morning the weather improved considerably and it has been mild and sunny so a bit of pottering in the garden and greenhouse. We have had a chinese takeaway this evening (delivered) with a nice glass of wine. I shan't have any more though as I am on Welcoming duty tomorrow. The Cathedral are short staffed this weekend so another long standing volunteer and I have agreed to 'man' the desk tomorrow. The fireworks have already started round here. Happy New Year everyone.

Sitting here in Crewe with curtains Fully opened but windows only slightly cracked -- just enough to see / hear all the evenings fireworks but it's sooo quiet I've got the ITV Bond film playing in the background !!
So very Best Wishes for a Safe & virus free 2022 to you all !!
Also Good wishes to all those folks & families who have had health problems -- let us all hope those problems get left behind with December 2021 !

Happy and Healthy New year to one and all.
We were 'gifted' a cold first in ages and its us hard. I actually feel a bit better today, OH a day behind me so hopefully similar for him tomorrow. Daily LFT saying negative thankfully.
Dog was sick on her afternoon walk and several times after. She did paddle and slurp in a newly created, far too much rain and damp, in the wood on her morning walk/run is the only thing I can think of. Good job I didn't give her her flea and Worm pill or that would have been a waste and blamed??
Hopefully that'll be our finale bang to 2021.
May 2022 bring us all happy and healthy days 🍾🥂🎉

Gosh you were lucky, at least that's how I see it 😉. Fireworks started here as it got dark. Don't know how long they continued as I nodded on the sofa through a great British Scandal 😲🤣 good job it was recorded watch, then slept all night!
Our dog is OK with fireworks so far - thankfully, odd anxious look but settles again. So many aren't and as our neighbourhood fb page says from several posters they hadn't expected so many starting so early. Lots suffering despite calming techniques 😪
Hope you weren't completely disappointed by lack of fireworks if you wanted to see some

Bonne Annee from here in France, very quiet here no fireworks thankfully only the local hunt in the area yesterday, very warm had lunch and coffee/tea later also outside so we got some vitamin D and today a bit cooler but still warm have looked at weather for home it could get to 24C phew that will be a bit warm for New year's day.
Off to the Brenne later to see what birds are about.

It's a wet and very muddy start to 2022 here in Somerset. We took the dogs out this morning and got soaked. Don't think we'll be doing anything today. Made a casserole yesterday and that will see us through the weekend. Won't switch on our outside Christmas lights again, I've enjoyed the illuminations (our street has been lovely to look at) but it's time to pack them away, will have to find somewhere to get them dry if the rain continues. Will take down inside decorations and we'll heave our "living" tree outside once more, hoping it does well over the coming year.
Due to the warm weather all sorts of things are growing outside, strangely we have a long run of hornbeam hedge that usually looks dead in the winter but even that has thrown out some new leaves.
Hope those with aches and pains and ops in the pipeline find things get better this year. I'm steering clear of people contacts as I've finally got a physio appointment next week after months of waiting.
Listening to all the awards today I'm glad Daniel Craig got the same one as James Bond, someone had a bit of humour and imagination!
Have a good day everyone!

Perhaps its old age but I am confused what day it is. When I went down for breakfast I was fully convinced it was Sunday, rather than Saturday!!!! Its surprisingly warm for the time of year and the sun was out first thing. We had to deliver a sympathy card so decided to incorporate it in our walk route. The husband of the couple sadly died on Christmas Day. More of an acquaintance than a friend but we have known them since the boys were at school together 40 odd years ago. The sky was now looking a bit dark and rain was on its way so we got a bit wet before we got home.

Taking advantage of the warmer weather to do some work on the motorhome, resealing a window. I have it out and am in the process of cleaning up. Unexpected rain has interferred with the days work. When it fines up I will fit a new rubber seal and apply some bedding sealant before refitting.

Lovely sunny day here, first we have had in a week, and warm too......12.5 degrees in the shade.. Very windy however, trees are being battered about.
A few early fireworks yesterday evening, then several going up just after midnight. Very good televised display from Stirling, featuring the Wallace Monument and the castle, same as last year.

Just got back from the Brenne with lovely warm sunshine all day even managed a picnic and parked next to one of the large lakes and watched a few folk going to a local Aberge where we went to in October, so must be open for 1 sitting at 1pm and looked very busy when we went pass, got to 14 C so very pleasant and even saw one family sat outside their house for a long french lunch and making the most of the sunshine.

As the Op says "what are you all up to "
I have been reading the latest updates to the Highway Code effecting road users that come into force this month, and unless there is a very big campaign to advise all users ,I can see big problems coming as there is now even more so than in the past, a legal responsibility to ensure the more vulnerable are protected , with pedestrians (as should be)at the top

So sorry to hear that you and your OH have gone down with colds Bakers2. I hope you both feel better soon and everyone else that is feeling poorly also. Glad to hear that your blood tests didn't throw up any nastys WN and hope that robsail hears better news of his son soon.
I have finished at the Cathedral for the day. It was not as busy as usual for New Year Day but I suppose that is because of the circumstances. It is still very muddy in our garden so not much opportunity to do much out there sadly. Hopefully it might be a bit drier this week. Daughter has just phoned. They went down to London to a show this week. She said it was very busy so hope she keeps her distance from us this week! It is extremely quiet is our road today, hardly any traffic at all which is unusual. People who came into the Cathedral told us that town was very quiet as well. Keep safe everyone.

And the same to you Millie.👍
It was warm and dry this morning for our walk and has stayed that way all of the day.
Waiting on a duck to cook which we'll have with wraps and salad fillings and a hoisin sauce. A nice sparkling cuvee to go with it.☺
Had a quiet night firework wise.
Good luck to all posters and readers. Hope we all get to enjoy whatever plans we have (or even the ones we haven't made yet).

Good news about your sister David. What a way to spend New Year. Hope she is home soon
Has anyond else watched the Royal Institute Christmas Lectures by (now Sir) Jonathan Van Tam with other experts in their field? They were excellent and also great fun. I thoroughly recommend them.

Very quiet both for us and round and about too last night. Today has been dry but quite hazy. Had a good walk around the upper levels of the Chatsworth estate, along with a fair number of others.
Pleased that your sister's Op appears to have gone well, David.
All the best for 2022 to one and all.

Spent this evening trying to select some sites for our trip in April, but it is proving difficult to find what we want where we want to be. Our only requirements are EHU and a hardstanding, we prefer to use our own facilities, but with the small number of CLs and CSs up here with EHU, there is very little available that does not cost over £22.
One CL we had planned to use is closed at present awaiting certification, we will contact them to ask what the prospects are for them being open by mid/late April, but we cannot delay booking for too long.
Our second trip will be early/mid June till mid/late July, not even decided where to head for that one, other than "south".

A dull day here today and we have got 1 motorhome coming in for 2 nights on their way back to UK from Portugal all fees already paid for and they have got their tests booked for Monday.
Millie we also enjoyed the Royal Xmas Lectures as OH said best programme over the festive period for him and we always watch them, not much on last night for New years day.
Stay safe folks.

Finally got around to washing the autumn muck off the moho. Starting to go green in places but we have had very little proper sun for months so the continually damp conditions have exacerbated it. Checked the engine battery which was 12.3V. Not sure that the battery maintainer is working properly as the lithiums are sitting at a whisker under 13v.

‘Starting to go Green’ eh CY. . .Kudos👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Looks like we had a bit of rain overnight, but it’s glorious here this morning. Garden, methinks. Then some indoor sorting.
We had a nice meal yesterday, but Mum wouldn’t settle later on. She’s developed some sort of reverse Dracula principle, as soon as it drops dark, she wants to be home. 🤔1 -
Hosing down at the moment but was dry enough for a couple of hours strolling this morning. Not too many out and about that didn't have a dog.
Been in the kitchen for a while making some Smoked Haddock fish cakes up so they can "set" in the fridge for tonights dinner. Doesn't matter how many times I wish my hands the smell refuses to go away.
Worked out our diminishing assets for the year but found a few bob down the back of the sofa for Mrs.WNs pressie for next week.
Caught up with some friends on the phone last night. Good to hear from them.

Your smoked haddock fishcakes sound wonderful WN. Are we all invited?
It was a lovely day here. The wind was a bit cold but the sun was shining. So after an early lunch we had a very enjoyable family walk in Burghley Park this afternoon. As the Orangery wasn't open everyone came back to ours for Christmas cake and mince pies. The Christmas decs come down tomorrow.
